Sep 20, 2015Whats the correct way to store a phone number? I recently redid all my contacts, categorizing them all as a google contact. I noticed the most of my numbers are listed in the format:
(204) 111-1111
While some are stored as
+1 204-111-1111
Which format is correct? Can this affect group texting if I'm trying to text two contacts with different number formatting like this but in the same message thread??

I think my texts are going to other devices but i dont know which ones. Is there a way to see this without having the device just so i can see a list that is using my cell phone number.
I know how to turn it off but when i do it want to make sure its all of the devices that are turned off from my texts. Also is there any way to make sure that only my phone gets the texts?

Nov 24, 2012I have just done a resync of my contacts from Outlook to Goggle. I have done everything I could to find why the Razr doesn't show (or has combined) some of my contacts. I use Outlook (2003), used gsyncit to get all of my contacts to Goggle (deleted all previous contacts). My Outlook shows 1436 contacts. My Google (google.com/contacts) shows 1436. I have a table (Toshiba) and the contacts in it (showing only the google contacts) is also 1,436. BUT, the Razr did show 1434 on the initial sync, now shows 1,433 contacts. Another contact "lost" on the cell phone when the tablet and google on the web all showing the same number as Outlook

It's my old number, under the "caller ID" in facetime and in iMessage, and it won't allow me to change it...So now I can't recieve any facetime calls and any imessages....

Jun 26, 2012This has been a problem posted by several people. Below I have a list of solutions that other people have posted and tried. While these solutions have worked for other people, they have not worked for me. When I moved abroad, I got a new SIM card and phone number. However, the number displayed under Facetime and iMessage is still my AT&T number and not my new, local phone number. I can send and receive Facetime & iMessage through my Apple ID, but not through my phone number. When I had originally put the SIM card in, the number under Settings > Phone said "Unknown" and I was able to edit it to be my new number. That did not change the number listed under Facetime.
Solutions which have NOT worked (some of these have worked for other people, so if you are also having this issue, you can try these solutions as well):Restoring phone (from backup, and restoring as a new phone; when I restore phone as a new phone, the old number disappears but the new number does not replace it)Clearing all settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)Clearing network settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings)Power cycling (Hold the circle button and the power button down together until the phone turns itself off. Also have tried by first turning off Facetime & iMessage before the power cycle.)Turning Facetime & iMessage off, then back on (Settings > Facetime and Settings > Message. Also have tried logging out of Facetime before turning it off.)Turning off Date & Time > Set Automatically and then turning it back on?

Jun 24, 2010wondering if someone can help. here is a quick breakdown of events. received my new iphone 4 yesterday. went to store to have number ported. since i live in vegas and i have an ohio number, they had to switch the temporary las vegas number to a temporary ohio number and then had my number ported.
everything works fine except i am unable to use the visual voicemail. it says voicemail unavailable, unable to connect, when i try to log on.
Also, when i make facetime calls, my number shows up on the other persons caller id as the las vegas temporary number and not my actual number.
tried calling carrier last night, they were unable to help, so i have no idea what to do?
