View 24 RepliesI just recently bought a Samsung S5 Neo and I have the gmail widget in my home screen. Every time I get a new email I get a notification (sound) but on the widget itself there's no number that indicates I have new mail. If I don't see it I forget I have an email.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes randomly after unlocking my phone or turning it on, (specifically a couple seconds maybe 4, of looking at the Home screen) I hear a noise. I'm not sure if it vibrates or not I'll check next time. But it seems to be some sort of notification that happened. Now I have no apps running but I get this beep sound. I checked text messages, emails, push notifications, battery, coverage yet its not one of those. Maybe its WiFi. But for some reason I get this random beep of the phone trying to notify me of something but it never shows up on the screen. Sometimes after locking my phone (screen being black) it does the noise.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHow do I customize the call notification to vibrate and the text message notification to sound at the same time for vibration mode? The vibration mode works fine for me (both call and message notifications vibrate only), but sound notification for text messages when I am in the middle of something. I am a new Android user and it seems that both settings cannot be done separately for the vibration mode.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo i found a file i want to use my email sound. I named it to a .caf and it works fine playing it in quicktime on the machine.I sshed into the iphone directory / System / Library/ Audio/UISounds and changed the file called new-mail.caf.So i did that rebooted. Sent myself a test email.. No sound or vibrate.. Nothing.Changed it back to the original, works as intended.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently been configuring all the sounds on my phone so that when I am asleep in bed I am not woken up by various vibrations or notification sounds. With this in mind, I also wanted to ensure that if I was called up in case of an emergency then I would still hear my phone ringing.Because of this, I don't want to mute my phone or have to remember to change settings each night (which is annoying on it's own!) So, I now have everything working as I would like with the exception of new mail. I have set the sound to none - which I am sure used to work. As previously this stops the vibration however now, it still makes the 'ding' when new mail comes in. Surely if I set the 'New Mail' sound to 'none', then this is what should happen. So, what am I missing? There doesn't appear to be a setting in the notification section for muting the notification sound. I am using an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Exchange configured on my iPhone and have it setup for Push; however, what I am finding is that it does not work as I would expect. Having both the iPhone and the Blackberry side-by-side, when a new message arrives, the BB instantly flashes and notifies me of a new message, the iPhone... nothing. I have to actually wake the device, unlock it and open Mail in order to see that I have a new message.
Is this the intended operational procedure or am I missing something. We have Exchange 2003 Server (with SP2) not that it should matter. Just find that a bit lacking if that is what is considered Push per Apple's definition. If the device is awake and Mail is running, I get notified, but lets be honest, how often is your device in standby mode (sleeping). I really want to pitch the BB.
My iPhone vibrates when new mail is received. I don't see Mail in Notification Center. How do I turn off the new mail vibrate?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI did SSH my iphone using DISKAID, and in DISKAID there's this random glitch where sometimes when you're renaming a file it will name the whole folder the new name, and it happened to me with the MobileSMS.app folder, but i changed it back and didn't notice any problem. about an hour later i get a text (sound works), and while typing my reply the SMS app froze (if it's any clue it was during the magnifying glass thingy was on). I went in and out of the app using home button (multitasking enabled) but it wouldn't unfreeze so i rebooted the phone and it came back normal. but since then- no incoming SMS sound!
What's even weirder than that is the fact that even if i'm going to SETTINGS SOUNDSNEW TEXT MESSAGE and tap the different ringtones I don't get any sound!
Oh - another clue:
During my browsing through the phone's file system I did find another "ringtones" folder somewhere and deleted them all except for two - but as far as I know the call ringtones and the SMS ringtones are never in the same folder.. still, could I have deleted the SMS ringtone files? that would make pefect sense but.. is it even possible? or could it be something I accidently changed in the MobileSMS.app folder?
I have several mail boxes on my phone. Unless I check each mail box besides the primary Inbox I'm not aware someone has sent me an email unless I check the individual box. How can I change my setup to be notified when all new mail arrrives.

Last night it was doing it when i was simply surfing the web. What causes this and how to stop it? It will do it when I am not even touching it and mostly does it when i pick it up or move it.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI cannot figure out what the little sound this phone is making all the time, haven't worked out the pattern yet. But it is really annoying as I can't seem to turn it off. I have tried numerous sound profile app, nothing works.
Also everything is untick in sound profile under 'system' but It still makes a noise when I unlock the phone.
It is a system sound because it is not the notification sound I have set in the sound profile. Even when I set it to silent, it still makes the noise.
I'm seriously thinking of switching back to the One X.
How to change my alarm tune.....the stock one is too shocking early in the morning....
