IPhone :: Does The 5.1 Update Delete Safari Bookmarks?
Apr 19, 2012
Last time I did the software update to my 3G iPhone, all my bookmarks in Safari (on the phone) were deleted. I was very unhappy about that, so I've been hesitant to do the latest update, because I don't want it to happen again.
Is there some way to back up Safari bookmarks, so I can put them back on again if they're lost? I'm very hesitant about syncing/updating things, since I always manage to lose lots of stuff on the phone whenever I try to do something
On my older iPhones, the Safari bookmarks always used to slurp up from my computer onto the phone so I could use them on the phone. Now, that does not happen, the bookmarks on the phone are old and never update when I plug my phone into iTunes to update.
Has anyone seen this? I am fully up-to-date on all software, and Safari (iOS) crashes every time I tap the bookmarks icon. Every time. It used to work fine, and I failed to notice when it started crashing.
by accident I deleted one of my safari bookmark folders. (by the way, I wonder that no question "are you sure to delete" was asked).
Is there a way to restore it, without setting ecerything on the iPhone back to factory settings? On iTunes, I am reluctant to choose "set back" or reset, I do not want to reset everything-
What is the difference between adding a web site as a Favorite vs Bookmark in Safari on my iPhone? Why is there both and when do I use "bookmark" vs "favorite"?
Is there a way to restore the default bookmarks for Safari that came with the iPhone 4s? I mistakenly deleted them after having the iPhone for only a couple days.
Is there a file/folder I can download into the iPhone to get those default bookmarks and bookmark bar back? Or are they hidden somewhere internally?
how do I delete ALL the bookmarks from my iPhone 5 (Safari) without having to swipe 1000 times each bookmark? There must be a way to delete them all at once??
How do you delete Bookmarks I have saved? I have opened bookmarks under internet globe icon, then highlighted a bookmark. Then clicked BB menu key scrolling for a Delete button and none is there. Next I clicked on the bookmark I want to delete and scrolled again for a delete and non exists. So how do you get to delete a bookmark?
I'm unable to delete two entries on Safari's Saved Passwords (on Passwords and AutoFill) on my iPhone and iPad.Those two entries appear on both my iOS devices (iPhone 5 and iPad 3, both running the latest iOS available).
I've already set "Settings>Safari>Passwords and AutoFill>Names and Passwords (OFF)".Every time I delete them from my "Saved Passwords" list, they disappear only for instances. I exit and re-enter "Saved Passwords", and they're back on the list.
Both have the website just as "https://". These entries were not created by me...at least directly, since on of the emails has @t-com.de termination, which I've never used before.I already have my "Keychain" on iCloud turn off. Never did any jailbreak on any device, and now I'm starting to worry if this is a security issue of some kind.Â
Info: iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.1, iPad (3rd gen) also applies
I have an iPhone 4s and for the past few days my Safari will not load pages. I am also having trouble connecting to the app store and using the Maps. I thought it might be a problem with AT&T and my phone being throttled but it is not. Is this an issue with the 5.1.1 update for the iPhone?
My iPhone 5S, less than a year old, began locking up last night. I cannot do an update, access iCloud, photos, app store updates, and sometimes even the phone. Once I click on it it doesn't let me go any further. It will let me hit the home button and back out to the home screen, but nothing else.
Sometimes i get those annoying updates and they arent anything important so could be something like an update to adapt to the new iPad for example, and rather than taking up valuable room on my device with these updates is there a way i can delete them, like a sort of "mark as read"?
There are 2 things that i have a problem with my iphone 5s firstly just recently/today i was having just using it generally not overusing by having lots of apps open as i always shut the apps after i use them , and it started to get really hot , it didnt overheat and no warning came up but it wasnt a temperature which is normal. this happened to me several times recently and i have never thought anything of it but it seems to be getting worse. Also today when it decided to get hot , i opened my safari browser and all my favorites/bookmarks had gone.
How do I delete a notification of a Software Update from a 3G IPhone. It shows up in my General Settings and I do not know how to delete it. It is for the 3Gs IPhone.
I want to keep my phone on 5.01 for now. The 5.1 update is downloaded to the phone but not yet installed, and I do not want it yet, and would feel safer if it was not sitting there on the phone.
I have a 3GS. Running iOS4. Using MobileMe. Bookmarks bar and menu have completely disappeared. I restored them through iTunes and they worked for awhile. Now they are gone again. The only thing left is the history folder.
I just restored my phone and setup my MobileMe account on my phone, it accepted my password, and made turn all the toggles were set to "on." My calendars/bookmarks/contacts are not being synced to my phone. I checked me.com and everything is on there and on my computer, but not my phone.
