View 1 Replies View RelatedA few months ago, I dropped my phone (the day before my case came in the mail, of course) and the screen went fuzzy, much like an old box tv for several minutes, then rebooted several times before catching up to itself. I'm not sure what on earth happened because of this drop, but since then I have had a huge amount of issues.
First- I cannot complete certain updates on my phone, including some system updates such as for "extras+info" and "Lumia Camera". I get the error code 80070539 on these failed updates, but I do not believe that is the real reason these apps will not update. One method I used to fix this was to make sure I accepted updated terms and conditions for Microsoft, which completed some updates, but I still have several left waiting.
Second- Several apps and processes just do not work at all. Example: settings>applications>photos+camera the screen begins to flip over to the photos+camera menu, then abruptly stops before returning to the applications menu. This exact scenario happens to several other processes throughout the phone, including the calendar app, adding new emails and accounts, etc.
Third- I cannot backup my phone. This is a major problem as I have an abundance of files that I desperately need on my phone, but whenever I attempt to backup my phone, it may make it up to 97% maximum before it says the backup failed. This is the primary reason I haven't attempted a hard reset yet, and I would prefer to avoid doing a hard reset unless we can manage to fix at least the backup issue.
Fourth- My computer will not recognize my phone. I am running a laptop with Windows 8.1, all my drivers are up-to-date, I've uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, etc. but the computer doesn't even recognize that I plug the phone in, even though my phone still charges at a normal rate. I have also tried different computers and different cables. Nothing has proven useful. There is not a place in my computer that I can find a trace of detection of my phone, not under devices/drives/anything.
I will try just about anything that doesn't involve losing all of my data.
when I try and purchase in game content it tells me to contact iTunes support every-time. what do I do?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter spending the multiple hours required to simply restore my iPhone from a backup, I ejected the phone from iTunes and unlocked the phone with the slider, at which time I was asked whether I would like to set up the iPhone as a new phone or restore it from a backup (cloud or computer-located). I found it odd that I would be asked this question following completion of a restoration from a backup, but I went ahead and told the iPhone I would like it to do what it had already just done, at which time the display told me "connect to iTunes". After connecting to iTunes, my music, app configuration and preferences were visible in iTunes, and I could play music directly from the iPhone. I could also make changes and sync them to the iPhone.
However, the iPhone itself displayed the "connect to iTunes" message throughout, and when I ejected the phone from iTunes this remained. Turning on and off the phone produced no different result. I've started the restore again from scratch now, this time going to the phone and running through the wifi/restore choice options before choosing "restore from backup" in iTunes itself (this is not something that is indicated as required by iTunes or the iPhone at this stage). So I've got a couple hours to burn before I find out if that was the magic combination. Also, open letter to Apple: I don't mean to be unkind, but every single experience I've had trying to back up or restore my iPhone has been an exercise in frustration resulting from the process simply not working as it is described and as it should work. Get your house in order.
I just noticed this today when trying to email someone to apply for a job. I send the email, and it returns with a red X and says in Message Status: Transaction error - failure at service. And now that I think about it, I haven't been receiving my emails either. Please help me out.
