I have a iPhone 4 with 5.1.1 software, I just got it as a replacement from an apple shop 2 weeks ago. The camera has stopped working both front and back, it just stays on the closed shutter when I press on camera.

two days ago i tried to launch my camera.app and the shutter wouldnt open. i tried hard resetting my iphone and resetting it from the settings>general>reset but it didnt help. i tried using an application from the appstore(camera+) but the screen was always black. today i updated to 5.1 and im still not able to get the shutter open.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a notification to update my phone, so I downloaded the update and installed it, all good so far, but now that I have tried to use my camera the flash isnt working in sync with the shutter. The flash goes off too soon and the pictures turn out too dark, now I have checked what settings I could think of including the auto flash and etc, but it refuses to flash at the right time! I have noticed other differences with the update but I can get used to those.. not a big drama, but I really liked my camera the way it used to be... but in saying that I would prefer not to master reset as the other changes are ok.

1. The app opens and displays the shutter.
2. The camera icon then goes from black to grey
3. The screen then goes black with the 3 icons at the top (Off, Options, & the camera reverse button) All of this happens without me touching the screen.
Sometimes the screen goes black and sometimes it goes grey. I can look at existing hotos and play existing videos but cannot do anything at all with the camera

I have an iPhone 5S and the camera completely stopped working completely.The front camera and rear camera are just black. I've tried turning off the phone and turning it back on, restoring it, I've tried everything and nothing works. I did drop my phone about a month ago and cracked the screen but I don't think that has anything to do with it. Everything else works but my camera. So I've disabled hangouts on my Nexus 6 for a very long time now. I also keep on getting the message hangouts has stopped/force closed, then I just click OK. Is there any way to prevent this message from a continuously popping up though?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI spent an hour looking for a solution but all I can find is all sorts of recent complaints about this same exact problem with no working solution. This only happens with the rear camera. If I switch right away to front camera it works fine. The camera UI comes up with a black screen where what you are pointing at is expected to be seen. Also attempts to use the builtin flashlight toggle fails to keep the flash on for more than a second or two. Which is about the same time to error message when opening the camera. I don't use the camera much and so the last time I used it was prior to the update to (whatever of these numbers is the one indicating it: build LMY47D, soft ver LS991ZV5). Oh sprint LGLS991.
I have rebooted several times, force closed and cleared data and cache for the camera, and from most every place a factory reset was recommended but didn't correct the issue. So I have not done one and without a proper method to back up each apps data (without root, like it should have but doesn't, oh man am I still angry about that) this has to be a very very worst case scenario to do it.

The only way I got the front facing camera to work is totally by accident, I found a work around with Snapchat. It I open the main page of Snapchat, I get an error message about accessing the camera. If I scroll down within the app (to see Snapchat profile) the front facing camera comes to life and I can take front facing pics..
