Feb 27, 2010I am in the process of experiencing my first smart phone ever! Three days ago I made the decision to get the Droid Eris. I was in love with this phone the first 24 hours and then I started to think of my other options. The Moto Droid is out for me just because I really hate the size of the device... Just not for me. I know am deciding on either the BB Tour or keeping my Droid Eris. I have some following questions that hopefully you can all chip in.
I am mainly going to use my phone for texting/emailing with the whole uploading pictures to facebook and making the occasional tweet. I just graduated college so also looking for a very reliable phone for my "finding a J O B" process. So far the Droid Eris seems to be a very capable phone but there is some hiccups in the facebook/twitter apps and when I am typing on the keyboard there seems to be some spotty lag.
So my questions for you are.
Does the Tour experience spotty lag while texting/emailing?How are the facebook and twitter apps for the blackberry, from my very native knowledge of BB I have heard great things about them.
Is BBM what it is cracked up to be... all my friends just swear by it.Everything I run is google from gmail to calender. Is the BB able to sync like the eris did to all my contacts?Is the BB able to do google talk and is it instantly or is there some delay in receiving emails and msgs through gmail.
BB Bold 9700 :: Japanese Characters Displaying As Gibberish
Jan 29, 2010When i store MP3 files on my memory card that have Japanese Kanji in their file names/song names / artists/ etc., all i get are a bunch of white blocks, rather than the proper display of the characters.Is there any way I can get the Bold 9700, running 5.0.0.405, to properly display them. I don't need to be able to input them with my keyboard, just display them as they appear on the memory card.
I want, for example, the song "Hare Hare Yukai" from "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" to display the song title on the BlackBerry as ハレ晴レユカイ (as it is stored in the song's properties) and not as white blocks/ gibberish. I am not new to BlackBerries, but VERY new to the Bold 9700, so any help is appreciated... do i have to delete the songs from the memory card (since I moved the memory card from my old 8310) and re-add them for it to pick up properly (and delete the folder's BBThumbs.dat file too), or what?

Jun 13, 2012Why would my iPhone send messages, text and emails, videos and pictures quickly for months, then, inexplicably, for a period of two weeks, consistently, take 30 seconds or minutes to send any length text, email or photos? And it doesn't go any faster whether I am on my carrier network, or the broadband wifi.

Jul 21, 2010I have been informed that when I send an email with an attachment (whether its "attach file" or "send picture as email") the attachment is not on the recipients email.
I have tried emailing myself pictures from my camera to save on my laptop, and there is just no attachment on Outlook! I have logged into my gmail on web browser too, and still no attachment.
Does anyone know how to resolve this, i have tried selecting the size as "small" when prompted to see if that makes a difference.
I recently set up a new email address, i cant remember ever having problems before doing this.

Nov 19, 2012I have a Torch 9810, provider is Rogers. For some reason now when I try to email a picture I receive a popup that says "the attachment file may be reduced in size". Then it takes my nice high resolution photo and reduces the file size to under 100kb. The picture file size is much higher but the phone just reduces the file size.
I believe at some point when I emailed a picture a pop up came up and asked if I wanted to reduce the file size of the picture. I said yes but I think there was a check box that makes this choice apply to all pictures I try to email.
I can't find anywhere in any of the options where I can reset that decision and have the phone send full size pictures when I email them.

Dec 23, 2011The camera on the Droid X is pretty good..high res...maybe not as good as the SAMSUNG I just gave up to by the Droid but good. With my SAMSUNG and the phone I had before, if I sent a picture to an e-mail address it was just one button click to resize it for e-mail (would take the 3MP and resize to 100-180K which is much easier to download and views just fine on phone or laptop...with the Droid X it does not automatically give you the sizing option and if you go to the edit function it only lets you go down to 1MP...that is almost 10 times the size it should be for sending e-mail...really making people mad that I send pics too...is there a way to resize for e-mail (100-180K)

Apr 14, 2012My wife has an iphone 4 and I just got the iphone 4s. I can text other people no problem but there are issues when I text my wife. If I create a text using Siri, she doesn't get it. When I type a text, she usually gets it, but not always. I have no problems sending/receiving texts with anyone else. And I've received every text she has sent. She has no problems sending/receiving texts from other people.

I Will soon be getting the HTC One M8 when At&t finishes buying out Alltel/setting up towers blah blah whatever they are doing, which is supposed to be by February.My sister has an iPhone 5 and almost EVERY time we text, we will be in the middle of conversation and I will get a blank text. She said I'm the only one she has problems texting. She also said that my texts will come broke up, even when it's not a long message. May 10, 2012My wife and i upgaded to 5.1.1 from 4s and 3gs and now we run in to some problems. When i text her, my texts are shown as if she send it.
She's uses my account on her phone which worked fine untill 5.1.1. Also she can see my imessages to other people. Which she couldn't see before....
we both think it's very strange. Hopefully this can be easily fixed...
