IPhone :: 4gs Sluggish After 5.1.1 Update
May 16, 2012since i have upgraded to iOS 5.1.1. on my 4gs, it has become very sluggish, even the home button not responding at times. Have reset all settings, rebooted..done everything. still no help!

IPhone :: 4 Became Sluggish And Now Not Responding After IOS 5.1 Update
Mar 21, 2012This morning my iPhone 4 became a little sluggish in unlocking, opening apps, and sliding from one screen to the next. After a couple of hours it seemed to slow down altogether with a lot of delay as I tried to operate various functions. I did notice that it seemed to open the calendar and the invitations menu on its own. Now, at the end of the day, I can't unlock it at all, nor can I operate the slider to power off. It is simply not responding to anything except the home button to switch on the screen and the sleep button to put the screen to sleep. I installed IOS 5.1 a couple of days ago.

Jul 17, 2010I have plenty of internal and SD memory available. I don't like my phones to have a lot of garbage apps, I only keep apps I use on a daily basis, so there's not a lot of junk apps on there slowing it down. I've deleted any applications I'm not using.

Jun 30, 2014The phone ran great for the first 2 weeks, now it's taking it's sweet time for several things. It's acting ok now, but I have moments where it takes 10+ seconds to go to sleep or resume, some apps get stuck loading, and delayed actions when tapping/swiping on the screen. I turned off bluetooth for now, but it ran fine last week so I don't really think it's the issue.
Surely it can't be the My Little Pony game. It's the only thing I have added to the phone in the last week.
I have looked at other threads and I do not have touch or glance installed at all, so those can't be causing it.

Oct 20, 2011I've noticed for some time now that the screen of my Defy gets really sluggish, even non-responsive, when the charger cable is plugged in.
I can't even answer calls because of that. I haven't upgraded the OS to 2.2 yet.

May 18, 2015I've been using SwiftKey as long as I remember on my old phones. I expected the s6 to run very smoothly with it but the opposite is true for me. Swipe to delete words barely works and typing is laggy and sluggish most of the time. Predictions are bad and I haven't found a way to make it work better.

Sep 29, 2011I charge my Defy when I go to bed. When I hit the power button first thing in the morning, the phone response to touch, click, etc.is all slowed down. This goes away when I turn off the phone and turn it back on, but I'm lazy and don't want to reboot every day. (I normally reboot every 3-5 days)

Sep 1, 2014Basically I never get any notification of app updates, not do they update automatically. I have to go into app store regularly, then to updates and thereafter it shows the updates available, and shows the badge on the app store logo (ie red 3 for three new updates).
I've tried logging out of the current apple ID, powering off, on, putting apple ID back, no difference.
Tried turning off automatic updates, powering off, on, putting it back on, no difference (it's currently set in obviously).
Also difficult yo test as each time I need to wait for new updates to be issues to see if it works or not.

Jun 18, 2012I've just upgraded iTunes and am trying to update to iOS5.1.1 and keep getting the message saying the update will delete all the apps etc, to preserve content apply the update on the computer where you sync apps, music etc. The thing is this is the computer where I sync everything, when I plug the phone in it autosyncs just fine.

Sep 9, 2010I don't have Internet at home and I've been trying to update to 4.1 manually... But it wont let me! I direct downloaded the correct file, then plugged in my iPhone. I selected the device in itunes10 and the. Held down "option" and clicked "update" I selected the downloaded file and it looked like everything was working. But, then it said that it couldn't install the update because it couldn't reach the apple update server... Isn't that the point? So t doesn't need to hit the server?

Mar 12, 2012I have an iPhone 4 that will not update to the 5.1 update. I stopped my firewall on my MacBook Pro, I went direct into the internet box, bypassing the wireless router and it still will not update on my iTunes. I also tried to update the phone through the general settings by hooking up to power and using the Netgear wireless router, but it also said it could not hook up. I have been doing this for days now. I am out of options and I have done everything that I see others have talked about. I would hate to do a hard reset of my phone and loose everything.

Nov 12, 2010a couple of days ago I tried to do an update on my W995a via the SEUS program (latest version used, downloaded the day I did the update), It got to about 90% then stopped and stayed at 90% for about 2 - 4 minutes then it came up with Update Failed, I've retried the process a few times and all have failed, I've used the repair feature in the PC Suite program to try to fix the phone but it fails about about 90% as well, I had no issues or software glitches with the phone before attempting the Update. The phone now will not load the OS but instead just sits there with the keypad lights on. Is there a solution to this problem? As this is my main phone and the SEUS program has broken it.

Jun 25, 2012Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..

Mar 12, 2010Today my JB'd 3G on 3.1.2 went into a funky state and I attempted to reboot. Since then I've been stuck on the Apple logo at start up and nothing.
So, i put the phone in DFU mode and Itunes 9 is giving me the option to "Update & Restore", HOWEVER, I dont want to do this because I want to stay on 3.1.2 for obvious reasons. I also have been reading stuff about SHSH but I have no clue what this is so one can assume I never did anything prior regarding SHSH.
When itunes has the pop up on the screen saying "update and restore" can I hold "shift and click "update&restore" to choose a 312 ipsw, or is that option only available if restoring without being in DFU mode.

May 28, 2010I'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.
