My iphone 4 will not retrieve my gmail. This is the third time that I've had this problem since getting my phone in early December. I have tried deleting my gmail account and reinstalling it. I have also tried turning my phone completely off and then back on again.
My Photon 4 G does not sync calendar, contact, Gmail with my company Gmail account. I believe that it just stopped syncing last week and I believe that it was following a Motorola update, but cannot say for sure. Under Data Delivery, both Background Data and Data enabled are checked green. However, this is interesting because Email and corporate sync is grayed out on that screen. When I go to Account, checking the sync options is not possible, but I can do a manual sync. Please note, at one time, these options to sync Contacts, Gmail and Calendar were available. I've pulled the batter. I really do not want to reset to factory default. Suggestions? (Please note this is a company Gmail account, not just regular Gmail.)
Went through and set up my gmail through the email set up wizard. Used these exact steps: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB03087
Issue is I'm not seeing any of my existing / read messages on my phone. After set up I had zero messages in my blackberry email inbox. How do I go about getting these message in my blackberry email?
I don't know if my thread title makes sense but basically what I would like to know is what are the advantages of downloading the Gmail app vs just setting up a Gmail account through my BIS (Email Settings/Add Account)? My main objective here is wireless contacts sync. I have read a lot of negative feedback regarding Gmail on a BlackBerry but I will not really even be using this for email all to often, although I will from time to time. What I have done is just added my new Gmail account through the native BlackBerry email setup and then downloaded Google Sync. I downloaded the Gmail app but I didn't really like the UI and I like to have all 3 of my email accounts go into the same folder.
When I get an email I like how the blackberry automatically opens up the email application if I pull it out of the holster. The only problem is that it pulls up the Messages inbox and not my gmail account inbox.Any way to fix this or do anything about it? I have the gmail enhanced plugin if that makes a difference. Also on a totally unrelated note is there a way to search the gmail server from the gmail plugin app?
Does the native HTC Mail app in Sense UI, push gmail? Or any other IMAP connections that support the IDLE command? Or does only the native gmail app push gmail? I ask, because I have multiple email accounts on my phone, gmail, hotmail, etc.. gmail is on the native gmail app, which is currently pushing... but the others are in the HTC Mail app.
I'd rather have 1 app for everything, instead of bouncing between.. IMAP is IMAP.. which the HTC Mail app supports (for moving to and from folders).. but if it doesn't push using the IDLE command (like gmail app does).. then I'm stuck where I am.
First of all I'd like to know if the data i send thru bis using the phone's mail configuration is encrypted till server, as far as i understand the route is blackberry ==> Provider ==> BIS ==> google servers ==> BIS ==> Provider ==> blackberry, now, are my password and mails encrypted during all this? I mean is it all encrypted even after it passed thru bis?
Second, I'd like to know what gmail app does (m.google.com/mail) regarding encryption, i see in its settings "always use secure connections" that should mean its all encrypted according to google policies right?Last, if i used the gmail app (google's) would i still need a BIS subscription or just an internet connection would be fine?
Reason i want to know is that Blackberry's mail may be a little more comfortable for me due to slow connection but i'd still want to be safe, only thing i noticed is that BIS logs into my gmail account (pretty normal tho).I see this has been discussed in the past but there was never a definitive answer and i think (not tried though) that packet sniffing wouldnt bring me one either.
My iPhone 4 died. Completely dead, for no apparent reason. I've ordered a replacement, but does anyone know if I can retrieve my data from it (photos, etc.) to transfer to my new phone?
Yesterday I updated my iPhone software and changed my Apple ID password. Then last night when sending a messege to my ex girlfriend and good friend, the messege sent through fine. However she text back shocked and asked why i had sent her an aggressive and insulting text. She sent me the messege I had supposedly sent her. The first half of the messege was normal but then the second half was someone else's abusive words. Also they insulted me by making comments about my photos. I'm completely confused, worried and paranoid about what has happened. Has someone intercepted the messege and edited it? Has someone hacked my phone? I have never heard of anything like this. I have turned off my phone and changed my password again.
Basically I had synced 'my pictures' to my IPhone and want to put these pictures back on my PC, how do I do this?I had syned my photos from a folder on my computer so they appear on my IPhone in the folders I had set up. But due to my misfortune I have lost all the pictures on my computer. I still have them on my IPhone and was wondering if any one knows how to get them back onto my computer? When I plug in my Iphone and open the internal storage to look at the DCIM the only photos which are there are ones I haven taken on with the camera on the hone and appear in the camera roll.
Last December I got an iPhone 4S. I still have my old 3G. Is there a way to retrieve all MMS images from the 3G, without having to open each message and saving each image to the Photos app? Also would like having to avoid having to Load Earlier Messages to find those old MMSs with images.
my iPhone recently broke and i ended up getting a brand new one i was wondering if its possible to connect it to a mac and retrieve my old photos and contact info from my last phone that i backed up?
I had to retore my recently bought iPhone, unfortunately the ringtone is gone that I had purchased from iTunes. I did back it up but it is not to be found.
first off, something strange happened Nov 20, 2011 because that is the day my voicemail stopped working. ATT and APPLE could not figure out how to solve the problem - so I just had no voicemail until yesterday.
My iphone 4s' volume button broke, so I took it into the APPLE store to get a new phone. I backed up before I took the phone in, because I was pretty sure they would replace my phone - which they did
When I restored the phone to the 'most recent' back up, I lost ALL the data on my phone after Nov 20, 2011. All my texts, all the data about my baby that I have been keeping in a baby app - basically any app info. Even my camera roll reverted back to the way it was on Nov 20. (fortunately I had saved my pics to iphoto - so nothing really lost there)
I don't understand where all the info went when I backed up RIGHT before I went to the apple store.
I have looked on my computer and found the back up file, but I don't know what to do with the info in there. Oddly, I can't find a back up for 4/2/12 - the day I did the back up, but there are several back ups in March.. which would be better than the NOV back up.
I purchased an iPhone 3 and had taken some photos on it.I started having issues within 30 days and could replace it.So I created an iCloud account and saved those photos as a back up on iCloud. I did not restore my new phone from back up because I did not realize I needed to restore and not just activitate it.How can I save the new photos, apps, and other stuff but retrieve the old photos?
I have just synced my iphone to new apple desktop. But now my itunes list of purchased music has gone from iphone, even the icon! How do I get my itunes back?
I can't seem to locate any of the Albums that I created on my iPhone when loading onto my MBP (i.e. through iPhoto, Image Capture and Preview). I know that all of the indivdual photos are there but I wanted to access (& copy) the specific album to avoid having to re-create it.
So I just updated my Iphone and had some trouble synching my apps. I finally got the apps figured out and now I can't get my purchased ringtones back! Every time I try to synch my tones it says that doing so will erase all of my music, movies, and basically everything off of my phone. I really don't want to have to try to set all of that back up again.
