IPhone :: 3gs Keeps Restarting When It Looses Signal?
Apr 23, 2012
My iphone 3gs keeps restarting when it looses signal, its really starting to make me angry as i cant even use the phone properly it is at the highes upgrade there is for the iphone, it started restarting itself last week so i master reset it all and backed it up.. then it did it again so i restarted it to a new iphone its been fine all wekk and now its starting to do it again and i dont know?
I travel quiet a lot around Europe and my iPhone 4 misses perception all the time. I get message that the local net is closed and I cant get conected. The local provider in Czech rep. told me that it is a problem of hardware of iPhone.
i have problem with my E72 and gps signal. Before it worked ok, now i dont know what is the problem. It looses "fix" every few seconds even in the open sky. I switch phone off and on. And it fixes for a few seconds, but it loses fix quickly. i dont know what is the problem. I use sports tracker and google maps, and the same thing in both programs. I have everyhing turned to on in "positioning methods" (exept external gps): A-gps, integrated gps, WiFi/Network, Network based..........
Ive had my N8 for afew days and since having it ive not been able to make or recieve calls due to the fact that when i touch the phone the signal drops right out!
Whenever I open another app while Nokia Drive is runninng in the background, it stops giving me directions as it looses the GPS signal. For example, I am following the driving directions, but change to a music app to select a new playlist - as soon as I open the music app and Nokia Drive runs in the background, it basically stops working.
I have an iPhone 4 with an SFR (French operator) SIM card. Since Friday my iDevice has had the following behaviour:
- 3G connectivity cannot be used with applications: for example, Safari cannot load a page when 3G is selected (3G icon near my operator name at the top of screen with 5 bars).
- When I reboot my device, the apps can use 3G for about 5 minutes and then 3G connectivity disappears but I STILL have the 3G icon.
- Curiously, if I disable 3G connectivity in "Settings" in order to force EDGE or GPRS then the device still maintains the EDGE/GRPS connectivity (apps can have access to the network). Wifi works also very fine.
Thus my conclusion is that 3G hardware module is OK since this module is the same for 3G/EDGE/GPRS systems (same antenna for the 3 systems) and since I can connect to 3G for at least 5 minutes. I did tge test with the NetSpeed app and I can reach good speeds (of course during 5 minutes max !). So far, I have not tried with another SIM card. I have tried far away (10 kilometers from my home) and I have the same issue, thus this is not a network bug for a given GSM cell. I wonder whether I must try a device restoring.
My iphone 4s goes looses network then restarts or shutdown and start heating up. Requires hardboot to make it functional again. Frequency of restart and shutdown are multiple times a day. Submitted the phone to apple support and they says there is no issue in the phone.
I live in a poor reception area on the Rogers network. I've noticed that when I go into the basement the phone drops a signal pretty quickly. I am okay with this and is expected. My issue is when I get back on to the main floor, the phone does not pick up a signal again for a long time. Sometimes even toggling airplane mode doesn't work. My wife's iPhone does the same thing.
I recently bought an MHL adapter to connect my Xperia Z3 to my HDTV. Works fine, except one detail: whenever I connect the Phone to the TV, the Xperia drops its Wifi connection.
I noticed this when my mobile data limit was reached after 3 minutes of Amazon Video and my mobile provider slowed down my mobile data speed...
Is this a defect of my Xperia Z3 that I need to have fixed by Sony? Is it a general issue all Xperia Z3 have?
I am having problems with my screen. Will not time out even though I go back to settings and redo or change. The screen dims for a moment randomly and then lights full again but will not time out. Also there are a few random times when it seems to loose all touch sensitivity (I cannot unlock!) or if it is unlocked cannot do anything - screen seems to be frozen. And now the proximity sensor doesn't work - the screen is still active once it is up to my ear and it's dailing random numbers while I am trying to talk.
When I have my Aspen connected to my bluetooth carkit, it looses connection after a while. This happens both when in or not in a call. I have searched for some BT timeout settings, but cannot find anything. I had a HTC Snap with the same carkit and never had this problem.
I have 2 different cases that I would like to se some kind of solution for:
- In my city, there are several "bugs" in the maps. Is there a way to get this corrected ? Several roads seems ok for drivetrough, but then you find them to be "walking only". Ovi maps told me to drive into such road, - but luckily I knew the area, and did know it was a dead end. Places like this I would like to share with other users, so the map itself would be more up to date and as correct as possible. But ; such issues I have found no way to feed the maps with. ( yea, I might share the cinema, and hospital, cafe's and som but the road and blocked roads, - nope. even nopt telling wich speedlimits the different roads has).
Is there a way to get the ovi maps to remember a input? (It asks over and over "connect to location server" y/n - while driving in areas with a lot of tunnels, and steep mountains (it looses the GPS signals). This is not only annoying, but it disturb while driving. If I consider to say yes, - ( or no for that matter) - it continues to ask everytime it looses the GPS signals. I have now turned it off, and will see if the nagscreen shows up all the time. If it could remember the FIRST answer - as long as it is running, - it would be okay. As it is now, - its really disturbing - here in Western Norway. (where the FJORDS are, and a lot of tunnels).
Recently, I began to have this problem where the phone is showing full signal but the phone is actually not receiving any signal. So calls will not come in at all.
What do these Icons represent or mean, and the meaning when they change Colors from White to Blue (Status Icons). There was a GB 2.3.4 User Manual Posted on Moto's site, Unfortunately no information was included about these Items. What does it mean when all three are blue, Including the H+ icon having arrows beneath it at the same time? Is it also Possible to have the Intro Video Posted or embedded to this thread as well please.
Anyone else experience this? I did th sotware upgrade and a few hours later this happened. I tried manually connecting to the network and it wont. T-mobile asked me to send the phone back but there is a major scratch on the screen so they told me my return warranty was void now.So far I have a $400 paper weight. Anyone fix this issue?
I've had this twice now where I couldn't get a GPS signal. This never happened on my Droid 1, but has happened twice in less than 30 days (two different phones - since I replaced the first one when this happened). This has been in 2 completely different locations.
I was wondering if anyone knows what algorithm is used for the signal bars on the Photon 4G. I have found that there seems to be no correlation between the signal strength (in dBm / asu) in Settings -> About phone -> Status and the signal bars that are shown. Often the signal bars will shoot from 1 to 5 or 6 even with really low signal ( ~97 to > 100 dBm) that doesn't fluctuate.
I have been experiencing a funny problem when charging my N97. I bought my phone in August last year. It had been working fine till now and still is. I really have no complaints when it is concerned to performance and usablity. Initial issues were promptly solved with the firmware updates.
Yesterday night, I found out that I had this problem. When I hooked up my phone with my charger, it did not show any light. I tried to use the charger on another mobile(SAMSUNG) which sports the same USB port as my N97 and it worked ! I also used the samsung charger (though its only 700mA) on my N97 and the charging indicator glowed ! To my surprise, the charger adapter pin that ships with the N97 allowing us to charge the phone with older chargers also allowed me to charge my phone. In short, everything charged my phone(including USB) except the provided charger.
Secondly, of lately the headset has become dogdy. Earlier, even if I ran while having hooked up, the connection was good. Now, even if I move the slightest, the phone looses the connection with the headset and the headset icon disappears. Then I need to plug it out and the plug it in again for about 2-3 times to get the icon to reappear. Now if anyone can explain to me why this is happening and the solution to it, I would be really happy.
Ok I have noticed alot of the same posts but my iPhone 3Gs is restarting every second not minute. It started when I went to restore my phone cause i saw for some odd reason i had over 2gb of memory being waisted by "other" what ever makes that up, anyways so after i restored it I told it to restore from back up ever since then it keeps restarting.
Apart from the problem i'm currently having with audio dropouts when streaming to AirPlay, i find that i am constantly having to restart the Music App when trying to stream songs from iCloud (iTunes Match). This happens when im playing music through the phone speaker and when streaming to AirPlay.
Happens when using both 3G and Wi-Fi to pull music from the cloud (both are good connections).
Sometimes I have to restart the Music app in order for it to start playing a song correctly. Also, the app sometimes skips the selected song and plays a different song (Shuffle is not activated).
My iPhone 4 keeps crashing and restarting and AppleCare is unable to duplicate the issue or resolved the issue.
Recently my iphone randomly started crashing or it would freeze then i have to restart using power and home button, These are few things that I have already tried to resolve the issue:
1: Restore to factory settings and start over from scratch.
2. Deleted recently updated apps to see which one could be causing the issue, but the issue is still there.
3. Re-downloaded ios 5.1 and did a fresh restore.
After doing all this I called Applecare and they suggested to send in my phone and they will replace it and send me a new one since Im still having the issue after doing all of the above. Today I recieved my phone back from Applecare stating that the issue was resolved or not duplicated. So I did a restore once again and from one of the saved files that I had setup as a new phone. In the last 6 hours my phone has froze once, and crashed twice. I called Applecare again and he suggested to send the iphone in again and he will put in the notes to give it max time to detect the issue.
As from Friday 24th June 2011 when I purchased my iPhone 4 it Won't Charge, stays in the red & go above 5% even after 2-3+ days no difference charging plus I tried x4 different Apple charges but it made no difference at all to the problems with the iPhone 4. 2.24-06-2011iPhone 4 keeps restarting it's self every 30 seconds 3.24-06-2011I do a system restore many times via iTunes 4.I do a hard reset by holding the power & home button for 45sec x5 times 5.I do a battery calibration by holding the power & home button for 25secas I'm told via online forum 6.Just finely get the iPhone 4 updated to latest 4.3.3 OS via iTunes 7.I leave iPhone 4 to completely dis charge where it won't start at all & then recharge it where charge holds for a couple of hours but then only to turn itself off when the power meter is reading 64% but won't restart after pressing power button. 8.So I pug the iPhone 4 back on its charger for a couple of hours but it still reads only 1% battery power so I do another by holding the power & home button for 25 seconds as I'm told via online forum up to which the battery meter reads 96% as to will not charge no higher than 93-96% but again the seconds later the iPhone 4 again starts keeping restarting it's self every 30 seconds nonstop all over again. 9.Nothing has help with this piece of Apple ****. 10.Reading more online forum where this is a very common problem with it seem that all iPhone models, iPad's, iPod 4 it also had similar problems as did mine. 11.Just finely get the iPhone 4 updated to latest x4.more times of the iPhone OS via iTunes which has made NO DIFFERENCE to the continued problems with this APPLE PIECE OF CRAP. 12.01-09-2011 @ 8:08pmI plug it in to my computer where it Shows it's charging a CHARGING icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen & then a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds. 13.01-09-2011Now after a doing a battery calibration by holding the power & home button for 25secas I'm told via online forum. But this time each time it restarts 90% charge, 85% charge, 80% charge, 76% charge & that continues like that again, again & again, what a piece of CRAP... 14.01-09-2011Again I plug it in to my computer where it Shows it's charging a CHARGING icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen & then a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds 15.01-09-2011I Plug it in & once more I do a system restore via Apple iTunes to see once more if it will make any difference, like that will do anything 'YEA RIGHT".. And the answer is "NO WHAT A SURPRISE" Now showing 74% charge, continuing to restart every 30seconds 16.01-09-2011 72% charge, continuing to restart every 30seconds & then showing a PowerPoint icon in the power bar at the top right hand corner of the screen where then continues to restart its self every 30 seconds. 17.01-09-2011Then this happens during Sync after a do a system restore via Apple iTunes 18.Now showing 74% charge & still continuing to restart every 30seconds. 19.Won't charge at all while turned on 20.01-05-2012Still won't charge when plugged in plus there is NO CHARGE SYMBOL on the screen to show its charging & so it doesn't charge... 21.19-05-2012 Now upgraded to iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 & it now continues to REBOOT/RESTART every three to five second regardless of whether it's plugged in or unplugged NOW & the ONLY way I can get some sort of charge into it is to turn off the iPhone 4 completely but only after it already plugged in to the power & after it's already restarted it's self again buy holding the POWER BUTTON down plus flicking the Phone shutdown touch screen button across But still not fixing it's problem regardless of how many times I've upgraded the iPhones 4 iOS MAKING THE iPhone or any iPhone so far totally the most useless mobile phone I've ever had/owned & I've had a lot of Mobiles over the years that when I get them I test every feature they have to the max in order to make sure there are no problems with it?
