View 4 RepliesCame from LG G4 that didn't have these issues with the same apps.
Sometimes the audio will work fine (notice this more when I'm on WiFi) but sometimes, in all apps (snapchat, facebook, regular gallery view) the video will play but the audio will cut in and out.
Not sure what it is. Phone is rooted (systemless) and is running the EX Kernel. I didn't mess with the audio settings in the EX Manager...
This is a huge issue for me as I spend a lot of time on Snapchat, Instagram and YouTube (I'm a vlogger, etc.).
So, the call quality of the 6p is quite dreadful. I'm 5/5 in phone calls made where people have complained about not being able to hear me. However, someone said that disabling the noise cancellation in the build.prop can fix this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI Have the nexus 6p on version 6.0. Just this morning my phone was working fine and all of a sudden I have No sound audio. Notifications work. I cannot hear any sound apps like youtube, music players.. Do Not Disturb is not on. I go into sound and notification and everything is turned on and all the way up. When changing a ringtone I can hear all the options.. But NO audio... I have factory wiped/data my phone.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI realized there's an odd issue with my 6p. i noticed when you are listening to music or watching videos in landscape and if you rotate your phone 180 degrees upside down, the audio will stop for a split second and resumes. Is this a software flaw?? Or am i the only one with a defective unit??
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have encountered this multiple times. The sound is coming normally and just goes off without any reason.
The sound comes back if I pause the audio/ video and then replay. However, after 2-3nutes the sound goes back again.
The only solution is to restart the phone and then the sound is OK for around 2-3 days.
1) During listening music on google play music.
2) During watching video on VLC player
This is a default Australian nexus with default rom and all the updates from Google. NOT rooted.
I have a Leckerton UHA-6S.mkii external DAC/amp that I use for highly sensitive IEMs, since the noise floor with the stock chip on phones is too high, and the volume steps on android go from silent to deadly loud at volume step 2. I have successfully used it with my old Nexus 5 with no issues, but as soon as I upgraded to 6.0 on the Nexus 5, I noticed the output was downsampled to mono and sounded quite bad. I wasn't sure if this was my custom kernel (ElementalX on the Nexus 5) at the time, so instead of troubleshooting, I waited until I got my 6P in.
Unfortunately I'm having the same issue; USB audio output to the DAC is still being downsampled to mono and sounds pretty bad. How to resolve this? Is this a software bug in 6.0, or is there a setting that I can change?
So far my Nexus 6P seems perfect. The only that I can't tell is if there is the speaker imbalance that some people are experiencing where one speaker is louder than the other.
Is there a specific way that people are testing for this? If so what can I try?
We all know that in the past Nexus the audio recording in videos in loud places (ex. night club) was really bad, specially the bass that was recorded all distorted. how's the audio recording in videos in loud places with the Nexus 6P?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy brand new baby is giving me a Bluetooth nightmare. After I use it with Plantronics BackBeat Go 2 headset and disconnect the Bluetooth (even if I switch off Bluetooth), phone audio won't come thru the regular speaker. However, if I switch on the speakerphone, then audio works. A restart fixes the problem. But it is super annoying.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI got a new 6P from google to fix an issue I had. Both are running 6.0.1. I copied a few directories over to my PC from my old phone. Then spun up my new one, and copied them across. I can see the files in a file browser, but for some reason smart audio player app does not see them. I can push the 'grant write permission' and it lists my default storage as: "/storage/emulated/0" which is where the directories are. I can then see my books, but they are not showing up in the app to be able to play for some reason? I am wondering if it's permissions? On my old phone I could see everything (even stuff not in my audio book directory) when trying to browse for book source/root.

View 21 Replies View RelatedSo just got my 6p yesterday but it seems as though ambient display although turned on is not working ND when I answer a phone call my screen stays black during the call and won't wake up.
So apparently it's because the tempered glass screen protector is covering the proximity sensor. I still have to actually test that theory out once I get a new protector but from doing some digging that most def it. Just a heads up I used the one by super shieldz so don't buy that one until they make a cut out for the sensor.
I'd like to use my E71 for streaming music via Spotify and I have been using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter with various speakers and headphones, but the sound quality is always bad. The sound quality is equally as bad when playing high bitrate mp3s via real player, so I don't think it's just Spotify.
There is also some hiss produced, but this can be mitigated by having the E71 volume turned up to maximum and using an inline volume control on the headphones to turn the volume down. But the audio quality is still bad and seems to be missing a lot in the mid range.
If I were to get a Bluetooth headset or a Bluetooth to 3.5mm adapter so that I could use my own headphones, would this improve the audio quality as it bypasses the 2.5mm plug on the device completely, or is the audio still going to be bad due to some underlying problem in the way the E71 decodes MP3s?
I was fairly happy with the phone until I tried to listen to music on it. Sound quality (no matter which headphones I use, up to Westone 3) is awful. There's no bass whatsoever, the sound is dirty, no stereo separation etc. etc. Really, I haven't heard anything as awful in years. This is such an outlier among modern phones I really can't get how this passed the quality control.
View 19 Replies View Relatedi have heard that there is a stereo microphone accessory for sony xperia phones, since its a stereo input micropohne, i need to know whether i could feed any stereo input (line in recording) to my phone and record better quality audio.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm planing to switch to Lumia 930 from iPhone 5s, and so far, everything what i've found convinced me to make a switch except audio quality when listening to the (local) music. I just really can't find impressions from actual user about this. Many people are telling me that audio quality with in ear headphones is terrible, cant even be compared with iPhone 5s' sound quality. But honestly I doubt that it can be THAT BAD on one flagship phone.
I'm using iphone since 3g, i switched once to Galaxy S (when it was released) then after couple of months moved back to iphone, and another trip to android last year with Xperia Z but couldn't wait to get rid of android once again. Quality on both android phones was noticeably worse than on any iphone i used. I don't want to make same mistake again since listening to the music on the phone is a big thing for me.
I plug in my headphones, fire up either spotify or GPM (more prevalent and noticible w/ GPM), start a song, lock screen, go about my business. From here, there is no noticible drop in sound quality...until I wake my screen. As soon as the screen wakes the audio quality and volume increases. Better lows, crisper highes, etc. It's not killing my experience, but I can notice it so of course it bothers the geek in me and I've gotta figure out what's going on. Is boomsound not activating?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just got my Atrix 2 yesterday in hopes of it replacing my iPod touch as a music and phone device.I loaded up my stuff and went to my car to test it out (obviously through the headphone jack) and I was dramatically disappointed. I went straight to Amazon to look at the price of the latest iPod model! Sounds like a muffled tape deck. There are just plain out frequencies that are muffled or missing on the Atrix 2. Does not take a good ear to hear it either. I wish I could sit down with every person who looks at this or a Motorola engineer to show them.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm on the latest build that came out today. Not sure if it's something I did, or if this is normal for when you are rooted, bootloader unlocked, etc
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy Nexus 6P will not do anything but charge when it's plugged up to my PC. I am using the systemless root and Franco kernel r7. Other than that, it's stock. What happens when I plug my phone into my PC is the battery icon changes to charging, and that's it. The PC does not recognize the phone is plugged in, and there are no unknown USB devices in device manager. I also do not get a USB notification on my phone.
More details:
- I have done the complete drive install VIA the nexus root toolkit (both initial setup before this problem, then again when the problem surfaced)
- USB debugging is enabled
- I swapped cables about 3 times, no change
- Tried different USB ports on PC and laptop and even ports directly connected to the motherboard. no change.
- Tried on my laptop (Windows 10) and it does the same thing as the PC (Windows 10).
- USB settings are set to MTP, although if I change it, it seems to get stuck on charging. I have to tap MTP about 3-5 times in order for it to say it's in MTP mode again.
- Running the command adb devices in command prompt does not show anything connected.
Other than this weird issue, I have not had any problems with my phone. I also have another USB-C cable on the way, but it seems unlikely that would be the issue.
I got my brand new 6p last week on friday and am in love with it, currently testing out the battery to see how much juice I can get out of it in a normal working day. I have however noted that when i browse using 4g on chrome the phone gets warm, not too hot to hold but get noticeably warm, the top half between the camera and the fingerprint sensor and the front screen as well. I have the phone in the 'adopted' case that i ordered with it from the Google store which might be bad for heat dissipation but still wondering if other people have had their phones get warm when being used?

View 8 Replies View RelatedHow can I get my voicemails to show up there? Does it work with Verizon? The tab only appeared after I installed Google Voice and set it up as my voicemail in the phone app settings...
It doesn't matter to me if I have to use Google Voice or Verizon's native voicemail, just seems like a cool feature.
On a related note, Google Voice regularly alerts me of Voicemails hours or even days after I get them...is that normal?
I have a relatively severe issue with the Bluetooth audio quality on my phone. It sounds pretty much exactly like 64kbits MP3, you can especially hear it in the high frequencies. It's somehow distorted and unclear and extremely annoying as it ruins the experience totally.
Everyone who heard sound over my Bluetooth devices has heard this. The weird thing: I experienced this with both my Galaxy S5 (G900F) and my Galaxy S6 (G920F) and every single Bluetooth device that is connected to them. I tried it with my Logitech Bluetooth Audio Adapter, Denon AVR X1100W, Logitech Boombox and my car stereo Kennwood KDC-BT35U. The audio quality is always the same.
However, with my Nexus 5, my Galaxy Tab S8.4 and my Laptop, the audio quality over Bluetooth is great! Also, if I use the headphone jack on my Galaxys, it sounds just fine. I mostly use Spotify and Google Play Music, but the problem is not there since it sounds great when using a cord.
I just got hand free LSD-5011D headset. I paired it with the iPhone. It worked for the phone, but not for iTunes. I paired it with iMac. It works with iTunes. But awful sound!
