HTC :: What Profiles CDMA Version Of Hero Supports?
Mar 8, 2010
Does any know what profiles the CDMA version of the hero supports? I see that the gsm version supports SPP but does the CMDA version support it? I'm trying to decided betweent he hero and the samsung moment but I need support for a bluetooth keyboard (either HID or SPP). If they hero doesn't have SPP support does anyone know where I can find a profile for it? I see I can add HID support here (possibly).
I have a CDMA Hero with Cellular South (a regional carrier in MS, AL & FL). They have been generally pretty slow to provide updates and currently have only released Android 2.1 for this device. I was hoping that they would eventually provide a 2.2 update, as I understand that this would allow some applications to be moved to the flash card. Right now, the limitations of being able to store applications on only the phone memory is fairly constraining and makes the decision of whether to install or not install an app pretty tough.
I have been recently told that Cellular South does not intend to update this phone to 2.2, so it will be stuck forever on 2.1 (unless I install a 3rd party update). why this phone would not be updated to 2.2. Has HTC just decided to not support it any longer? If so, I've bought my last HTC phone.
is there a broadband hack to use your clearwire internet for your cell phone like you would if you had cricket, if so how would i go about doing it? i want 4G speeds on my hero.
I have a HTC Hero on the regional carrier, Cellular South. For some time I've been using the WiFi, which comes in particularly handy in those places I visit where I can't get a cellular signal. Recently the WiFi just stopped working. It's turned on, it just does not work. I've uninstalled a number of applications, rebooted the phone and took it in to the Cellular South store, where the Hero expert looked at it. Their suggestion was a hard reset, which would wipe out everything on the phone. It would all have to be reloaded afterward. The suggestion came with no guarantee and they said that it might have to be replaced if the reset did not cure the problem. I've experienced other problems with the Hero falling back to "base Android" when the HTC Sense application got set to not autostart. This probably due to interaction with some downloaded application.
My question is if anyone else has experienced WiFi not working and knows of any non-destructive fixes for the problem? (e.g. look for a particular program that needs to be restarted)
I want just want to ask for those whoe already updated their 5800 to version 40 firmware if their phone already supports VoIP. I've read on some forums that Nokia 5800 doesn't support VoIP. Is the new update already have like the VoIP support of N97?
What's the most recent Desktop Manager Version that had built-in support for rolling back your OS (i.e. it detects all OS versions installed on your system & lets you pick the one you want, even if it's a downgrade) and where can I download the install files? I just found out the hard way that DM 6.1 does NOT seem to give you that option, so I had to reinstall an old Version 5.0 build that's like a year and a half old... which I'm happy to keep using, if that's what I have to do. But is there a newer version of DM that still has that functionality? Using the Apploader program WITHOUT Desktop Manager does NOT work well for me, as it ONLY installs the newest OS version present on your machine, which has resulted in OS 6.0 getting installed against my wishes, thus wasting the time spent on the install (installing OS 6.0 on a BlackBerry 9700 is a monumentally bad idea and I can't recommend it to anyone! ) Thus, I need a version of Desktop Manager that supports rolling back to an earlier OS.
I'm about to compress a lot of short videos for mobile phones that will be online. First i compressed as .mp4 (H.264/AAC) which worked fine on iPhone, worked ok on a SE-X1 (needed to load whole movie before it could play), the Hero couldn't recognize the file at all.
The info page for Hero says it handles mpeg-4 (H.263 and H.264) and MP3/AAC.Is it just the .mp4 container that the Hero doesn't like?Does anyone know what format that would be best for video on the net to work on most phones?
I have just received a "Blackberry Bold 9700 Unlocked International Version" which i purchased from Amazon.Com. "This is supposed to be a new unbranded unit".
The installed software version is 5.0.0.351 with platform 5.1.0.98 and branding version 1.0.160.529q.I have read in this forum that there is a later version of the os available yet when I utilized the BB desktop software updater, it say that the latest version is installed. Is this correct?
I also have other issues with applications. I am unable to download and install the "BlackBerry APP World"; I get a message, " Sorry, your device does not meet the system requirements that are needed to support BlackBerry App World"
"Google talk" give an error messag: " Service not enabled for this hand held" "Blackberry maps" are not loaded on the handset.Setup wizard does not give me the option to set up my personal e-mail only enterprise e-mail.I am able to browse and send and receive MMS & SMS messages.
Kindly advise as to ho to resolve these issues and whether there is a more current software version for the handset, and if so: how do I update it.
DOes anyone know if the iphone 4 supports A2DP? My car system supports it and it would be nice to have it on the phone so that Navigon can speak out the commands on my radio if I am listening to music!

My name is Mohammed Dawwas and I'm working as an engineer in a Telecom. company, I was wondering for a long time , why Nokia doesn't invent a mobile with 2 SIM cards because i think it will be easier for anyone has 2 SIM ( mobiles ) to integrate them into one mobile, which will make our movement easier and effective instead of moving with 2 mobiles.I think this idea will increase Nokia sales.i hope that my idea was discussed clearly.
I want to buy a Bluetooth keyboard for my phone and I want to know if I can connect it using the HID(human interface device) Bluetooth profile? Does the nokia X6 supports HID profile?

i have a Nokia N96 mobile with the firmware v30.033. I am thinking to upgrade at v30.101 as i find that 30.033 is too slow. I would like to ask you if the firmware 30.101 supports the Greek Language as well?
Does XOOM MZ605 Brazil supports USB OTG,? A friend of mine with Samsung Galaxy S II was able to see my pen drive contents by my USB OTG cable, but I'm unable to do this with my XOOM MZ605 (neither Android 3.2, neither Android 3.1). Where is Android 3.1 release notes for XOOM MZ605 Brazil?
According to a thread over at XDA-Developers, the Samsung Vibrant for T-Mobile supports 1900mhz UMTS/3g. This would be the first phone sold by T-Mobile that supports ATT 3g as well as on its own AWS band.
I didn't believe it when it was first posted, but it seems to hold up to scrutiny, as the user posted a screenshot of a speed test result which includes an ATT (Cingular) IP address for the device, as well as 3g speeds and ATT's trademark high 3g latency.
further proof: http://www.vimeo.com/13641477
So, now the question is: If the Vibrant and Captivate are practically identical hard-ware wise, is it possible that the Captivate is using the same radio, and itself supports T-Mobile 3g on the AWS(1700) band?
I just saw that a more full AVRCP implementation is part of iOS4.1 beta. This means track skipping will finally be supported. This means you can change tracks using your Bluetooth stereo headphones.
Anyone have the beta installed that can confirm this? Does previous and next track both work now?
I am having trouble connecting my Blackberry Curve 8520 to my home router. I keep getting the message 'this wireless router supports wifi protected set up. To connect using a pin click next'. Having pressed next the message then reads 'provisioning wifi profiles. Enter this pin into your wireless router (and gives a number that changes each time)'. How do I enter a number into a router?? I didn't think this was possible .. and I have no way of entering numbers into my router.

I have the Myspace account in my accounts but the user name is blank and all grayed out. There's no password either. I can't removed the account. The icon is not the Myspace icon either. Its some weird green icon instead. Also my staus updates don't update themselves when I update from Facebook or Twitter.
