Is anyone else having this problem? I just got the HTC Desire and I've noticed that if I'm on WCDMA only I have trouble receiving incoming calls and text messages. If on GSM only everything is fine. I am using a Turbo Sim though; could that be the problem?
I installed Full Screen Caller ID but wasn't happy with the functionality of it, so I uninstalled it. Then, the next time I got a call I no longer had the standard HTC Sense UI Slide to answer (down to answer, up to send to VM) but instead just had the Answer and Ignore buttons. how I can get the slide back? Or, if there's another app that gives you a slide to answer? All of the apps that I've found do the opposite, and give you buttons instead of a slide, but not what I'm looking for.
I'm a Fido-user and I'm thinking of getting the HTC Desire contract-free from Telus and then unlocking it myself. Does anyone know if I can just walk in a store and buy it outright like that or would I need a Telus account? Also, would there be any activation fees or other hidden fees I might have to pay?
I just received my HTC desire from a member on the boards.I am having trouble getting the Sim card recognized. Since it is not recognized it is not letting me access the APN settings.
Basically, I unlocked my HTC Desire from telus Canada today. Now I'm not getting an auto update straigth from htc, I guess with im still running telus's 2.1 version of android. Is there a way for me to install HTC's desire os so that i get autoupdates from HTC, like those people who had unlocked desires got earlier in the month?
Anyone using the Telus version of the HTC Desire on AT&T? If so, are you on their smartphone data plan or the $10/$15 medianet?I know some Nexus One users on AT&T are being switched automatically to the smartphone data plan. Are we safe with the Telus version?
My Telus Desire is unlocked, rooted, and running on Rogers. With the stock ROM the 3G worked perfectly, everything was great. Now, I've flashed the phone with the proper radio for Froyo, got the proper SLCD Clockworkmod Recovery working, and flashed Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 RC2.Everything works great, but for some reason 3G isn't working at all. I've got the APN setup correctly for Rogers (internet.com, wapuser1, wap, blah blah blah), but still no dice. Data is turned on in the settings, but for some reason it isn't working. There's never any icon to represent it up top either.
I have had the Desire (unlocked on Rogers for about 2 weeks and it has worked well in Toronto. I seem to get data from from HSPA, 3G and Edge (get Hs, 3Gs and Es on the notification bar). I arrived yesterday in Thunder Bay and cannot get any data there. I have called Rogers and they have reset the data or whatever they do but no change. I have checked all my APN settings, ensured that I have checked to use mobile connections and done a hard reset of the phone. Nothing works. I not that I have a choice of WCDMA, GSM or auto WCDMA or GSM. I cannot set this on WCDMA without it reverting to the auto position. I suspect that Thunder Bay may have no 3G service and my phone is not dropping to 2G although my experience in Toronto suggests otherwise.
I flew to Kenora tonight and we stopped briefly in Fort Frances where I was able to connect to the Dryden Municpal Telephone System GSM network. The E lit up and it appeared that data was being sent but it didn't get through. This seemed to eliminate the possibility that the radio is simply dead. Incidentally, bluetooth and wifi are working fine as is the voice radio. I have seen it suggested on redflagdeals.com that I need to have the phone rooted to get access to 2G as this was blocked by Telus. I would appreciate anyone's input on this issue. I will be spending 3 or 4 months in Thunder Bay over the next while and need data access. If rooting the phone will do the trick, then I will need to get someone to do it for me as I am a little reluctant to try that myself.
I have my htc desire for 2 weeks and I still have 3 issue that really bother me.
1, The music player keep stop playing by itself after ~2 min. 2, The fm tuner won't able to turn on "again" unless I restart the device 3, The stream player will stop playing after screen shut off
last month, I inherited an LG-C900B (BELL) as my buddy had upgraded to an HTC TITAN Windows Phone. As I was frustrated with my force closing, stuck on Android 2.2, HTC Desire I decided to give WP a chance.
We unlocked the SIM from my TELUS HTC Desire and everything worked great. MMS, text, data, wifi, etc. Last week, I suddenly lost the ability to receive MMS messages from outside of the TELUS network. After a few days of troubleshooting and working with TELUS support, I'm at a loss.
I've done the following:
1. Reset my phone. 2. Downloaded the LG Network App to setup all my APN, Proxy IP, and MMSC settings automatically. (I did this last month when I was setting up my phone as well). 3. Upgraded my phone to the latest version available 7.10.8773.98.
I've also gained access to the MFG app to check my config.xml and to see what my network profile showed.
Current network profile: TLS_CA_302_220_ENG.xml AlwaysON options: ON Proxy enable options: OFF Auto update options: ON
All of the following values are hard coded into the config.xml file after running the LG Network Setup App for TELUS 302-220.
Somebody wants to buy my iPhone 3G which is locked to Rogers. They need it to work with Telus (Canada).
So my first thought was, jailbreak and unlock. Well it appears that the person does not have a telus sim card and wants her original number with the phone.
Is this a no go? Is there anyway I can still get this iPhone 3G to work with Telus without a Telus sim?
I have strange problem with my HTC Desire HD (A9191) I updated to Android 2.3.5 some time ago and since then I have a problem. If my phone is locked, I can't answer incoming call from some numbers.
When there is incoming call and I pull the green ring to the bigger ring to accept the call, the phone wants to turn off and asks me to 'force close'. Of course, I can't answer the call anymore.
When there is incoming call and I pull the red ring to the bigger ring to decline the call, the phone totally freezes while still ringing. It keeps ringing for around 10-15 minutes and does not react to anything.
The problem does not occur when the incoming call comes when phone is unlocked (i'm using it at the moment of the call coming).
We've upgraded successfully our two US Moto X Pure Edition devices to Marshmallow yesterday. After upgrade completed, the numbers of calling contact are not being recognized anymore, although these contact exists and saved in android's Contact app, and backed up in Gmail accounts. Also, all incoming and outgoing calls in the call log are not recognized, although they were recognized before the upgrade.
This is very critical for us, since one of the phones is used as a business phone and it's crucial for us to know who's calling.
My phone will not make calls, but I can still text just fine. I want to make sure if it's a network issue or if something happened with the phone itself. I have never dropped it and I always have the projective screens/covers.
For the last few days all of my calls are breaking up on incoming and outgoing. At first I thought that it was the other person that I was talking to but after doing many calls, it is my phone. Is there anything I could do to get this problem solved?
I have a S2 on UK Vodafone contract even though I am currently living in NZ. My phone is a UK model.UK Vodafone have terminated the Passport service as of 1st November which means I now go on to NZ roaming which at 1.65/NZ$3.30 a minute is somewhat steep - I also pay that amount for the incoming call.I now need to block all incoming calls on my phone so as I am not tempted to answer calls at odd times of the day or night (quite hard when we are 13 hours ahead of UK and totally out of sync with them) and pay extortionate amounts of money BUT I need to leave the phone available to make and receive text messages. It is not as easy as to just get a NZ phone contract as this was my life line with friends and family in UK until my provider pulled the passport service so need to disable the phone I have.how to do this so as I can still send/receive text but NOT receive voice calls on my S2?
my phone profile is normal but when some one phones me the ringtone dont play same problem with the notifications is the phone faulty or something I have done wrong?
AT&T LG G3, Lollipop 5.0.1 ... All of a sudden, all incoming calls are displayed as "+1 xxx-xxx-xxxx". Up until recently, they were always displayed as (xxx) xxx-xxxx. Is there a setting where I can disable the "+1"?
My G3 on AT&T does not show names with incoming calls unless they are already in contact list. Privacy Keeper is set to show all info. My Galaxy S4 and HTC One on AT&T, show names for all incoming calls. What am I missing with the G3?
Every time I answer an incoming call there is a annoying delay for a couple of seconds before the other person can hear me. does anyone have any solution for this?
volume - sound is very low in E72 practically useless for conference particularly during incoming call sound is really pathetic. Nokia should improve it. Is there any method to increase the volume.
I'm getting some problems when i get calls on my phone. It doesn't show the number from address book rather display the number as an unknown number. And then if i try to check the call history, it doesn't show up, instead it shows all the contacts from address book. I'm getting this problem quite frequently now, like 2-3 times a day and need to reboot the device in order to see my call history.
