View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently, after cracking the screen on my HTC Sensation, I decided to have a go at replacing it myself.After changing the digitizer, the screen seemed to work ok however, the SIM card and the SD card are nolonger detected when inserted. I've tried numerous SIM cards, and none work (in other words, it's nothing to do with the SIM card nor the SIM card holder!). Everything else seems to work fine.
I disassembled/reassembled the phone again with the same result. From what I can tell, all four of the flexi connectors are correctly engaged.I performed a factory reset on the phone with the same result.I've inspected the flexi's/PCB's under a microscope and can see no component/flexi/PCB damage.I've blown the insides out with air to remove any potential debris shorts.All of the disassembly was performed on an ESD mat with ESD strap, so I don't think I've done any static damage.
Last night after i updated my Sensation XE i discovered that the update made my SD card disappear, music, apps and pictures gone. I took the SD card out and put it back in again after a reboot! this worked but only for a very short time, the SD card became lost again. PS. My SD card is 16GB and came with the device, it worked 100% up until the update! this is definitely an ICS issue.

The phone works great except for the fact that I now have an issue with a high pitched sound coming out the 3.5mm headphone jack which is connected through my car audio system, when i try to make a phonecall. My music plays fine through the same setup so not sure what is causing the high pitched noise when i try to make a phonecall.

There's a number of items appearing in Downloads that I want to move to my PC, but I can't find the files and the only commands available are Open, Delete and Share.How do I locate the items so can copy them?My phone is not rooted and is running Lollipop 5.1.1.

I have had my BB for about a month. Yesterday it froze solid and is now out for repair (two to six weeks... we'll see) I now have a Curve 8530 as a loaner, which will keep me going in the mean time.
I moved the SD card, and up came all my photos, etc.
I'm on the road a lot, so don't spend much time in front of PC, so had never synced my address book (nor have I installed the desktop manager) so now I need to re-enter all my contacts info from scratch (my phone provider moved them from my old phone during purchase... that phone is now gone).
Not wanting to do this twice, I navigated to Contacts - Options - Storage Options and selected 'Media Card' instead of 'Internal Memory' so that they would follow me back to my own phone when it comes back from repair. I really should have set that option on my own phone in the first place, but didn't know any better... it would have been great if my contact data was portable on the SD card instead of locked inside the dead phone, but live and learn.
"But wait", you're thinking, "MY phone doesn't have that option. What version of Contacts is that Curve using??" so I'll sadly admit that last paragraph is fictional. More sadly, the rest of the story is not and I'm now faced with a month of frustration as I reconstruct my contact database before I either get my unfrozen phone back, or worse, get a blank replacement. At least I can cheer myself up browsing those 200 photos I snapped during the last month, as they were all safely stashed on that 16GB SDhc chip. My kingdom for those extra few kilobytes of contact info...
Some time in the future I hope that RIM will mandate this option for ALL their applications. It is great to say that the application data is "securey stored inside the phone" and I understand there are security issues with having data exposed on removable media. But to not have at least the OPTION of keeping MY data portable is not acceptable. Provide an admin lock-out for the option for corporate/enterprise customers, sure. They have the infrastructure for backing up their users' configurations. But please allow private users like me, who rarely (or never) sync with DM, have more control of where things are stored.
I just got a message that I'm running low on space from all the apps I'm downloading. So I assume that all these apps go onto the phone memory rather than my SD card. So is it possible to set the dowloads to go to my SD card automatically? And how do I move already installed ones there? And is it a good idea to put them onto my SD card? Since, if I take my SD card out, the apps wont work/crash etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had the phone for about three weeks now. I am past the 14 day remorse period and I didn't start having problems till after this period... Sometimes the phone will just reset bact to the white HTC screen then return to the home page after a few seconds, it sometimes asks to send the error report and sometimes it doesn't. It only did this once or twice out of the blue but now I am noticing it is doing it more often now. The phone has now also started to reboot back to the white HTC screen then show the t-mobile red letters screen then start up. One time it was completely off even though it had battery power and I had to turn it back on. Just last night I was in the middle of a phone call when the phone just dropped the call then rebooted to the white HTC screen then said it recovered from a fatal error or whatever the message says and asked me to report it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my sensation for over a week now. When I log out of some apps Sense often has to reload and takes around 5 seconds or more. This is happening daily. I have tried force quitting all non-essential apps then starting an app again to see if it still happens, it still does. It can happen with various app, such as maps, location, navigation, Firefox and others. I'm wondering if too much RAM is being used and Sense has to shut down then reload. I am keeping my usage to a minimum and not streaming any radio or so forth.

I first noticed this after playing a game, and I figured it would be to save memory it unloads it, or something, but now I also notice it after being in the mail app, or even the settings. As soon as I press the home button, it completely reloads the Sense UI, as if it crashed.

I have converted from iPhone 4 to the HTC Sensation. The only things I don't like is the message preview, I cannot find anywhere on how to change it so it doesn't display anything as my messages are private and I do not want other people seeing the first part of them. Ive tried a 3rd party app called handscent but didn't like it. Also is it possible to make message tones so the phone vibrates more than once?
