HTC One X :: WiFi Keeps Connecting / Saving And Searching In Loop
Nov 4, 2012
Why does my phone see the network as excellent strength (I'm sitting beside the hub) but only has poor strength when connected and will not work. It keeps connecting, saving and researching o a loop.
I have my Droid Xyboard set so that the if the screen turns off and its not plugged into the power adapter, the wifi will disconnect. (Under Wifi Settings > Wi-Fi disconnect Policy > select "Never when plugged in"). The wifi is supposed to connect automatically when I turn the screen on (I assume), but that doesn't always happen, many times it just sits there searching for a connection, and I have to manually turn off the wifi radio, then turn it on again, and then it connects automatically.
I have my IP settings set to "static" - which has improved the problem I think, but has not completely solved it. My security setting on my router is (WPA/WPA2 PSK) - but this happens with other wifi networks as well. My Mobile network connection is always turned off, unless I come to use it, I manually turn on the 3G/4G LTE radio.
i have tried turning it off and back on, also tried resetting network settings but the bluetooth icon on my iphone is still grey and cant find any bluetooth device?
I have read numerous threads, here at Crackberry and beyond, but I am afraid I have a truly nuked (to ashes) Curve 8310. My son decided he needed a password, then promptly forgot it and wiped the unit out. Being scared that he was really wiping it out (which of course he was), he pulled the battery in the middle of the wipe. I reconnected everything, and it seemed to do a wipe okay. The essential problem now is that I can never get it recognized by a Windows PC when connecting a USB cable. Yes, I have the BB Desktop and app loader installed. A second, known good BB (different model) connects just fine and is recognized. JL_CMDR gives a "port not found" error. Tried invoking LOADER, even with the /NOJVM switch, but nothing ever sees the 8310. Tried the timing issues with battery pull, cable disconnect dozens of times, but I never hear the PC do the double-ding that a USB device has connected, and the Loader application is always blank for the ports.
I bought my ip4s (brand new) on the 19th of January. And it was working fine up until last week when it stopped detecting wifi networks When I turn on wifi the "finding networks" circle keeps on searching with no success even though I used to connect to same router before. I tried everything: resetting network connections, rebooting phone. I even downloaded the latest iOS software just now. The problem seems to persist and to add to that the battery is being drained quickly even though I already turned off wifi (so it ain't still trying to connect).
Recently my iphone 4s wont find any of the wifis available in the area. When i search for wifi nothing appears, it just has the searching symbol, which doesnt go away. I have tested my home wifi with my friends phone, which is the same phone on the same software, and it works fine for her. I have had no problem with wifi until now and there are no other problems with my phone, 3g internet still work fine.
I have problem with nokia c5-03. My cell start automatic wifi searching, while i have disabled all posible option to search wifi automatically like (Show WLAN availibility = Never, Internet Connectivity test= Never Run). Beside these setting, i also delete all wifi Network destinitions. but still i found after every 2- 5 mins device prompts for available wifi connection. I dont was such prompt.

OK my n8s wifi has just stopped working. It will not stop searching when I search for wlan and it has no results. ive had the phone for a year now and always work and not its not working. all the info i had set up for the home network are gone as well its like the phone never had wifi..
and no nothing is wrong with my network... all other phones find and connect while mine does not even find
I'm new to the sony franchise and I'm very impressed with the Z2. The only problem I have is that my wifi keeps dropping on my phone and then it gets stuck at "obtaining ip address". What I've done is: reset my router, "forget" the network on my phone, reconnected the wifi. I've also rebooted my phone, this connected to the wifi successfully, but disconnects after a while again. I disabled stamina mode and all other power saving options, but nothing worked.
So I got my Verizon m8 today and went through the setup process. Everything seemed to be going well until I restarted the phone. Upon reboot I noticed I was no longer connected to wifi. I connected again and rebooted again. Same thing. I've tried everything I can think of, including a hard reset, and still it refuses to remember my wifi password?
OK, just found out that it's related to password length. My wifi password is 63 characters in length. As a test, I reduced it to 9 characters and it then remembered it after reboot. How long it can be and continue to work?
Im in an endless respring loop and cannot break out of it. i have tried everything i know... details below
(3gs on 3.1.2, new baseband, with 3.1.3 backed up on cydia...and im running windows XP)
here is what happend:
--tried to set file permissions for the calender app bc it was not letting me add new apointments after SSHing the file from another phone
--used ifile to 1st: private/var/mobile/Library/Calendar (i went one step further) as far as i could go before an edit, then clicked the blue arrow and while the permissions was root, i noticed that it set to read and write only. so i changed this to RWE.
--went back to calendar tried to add a new apt -- no go, didnt work
--back to ifile 2nd: private/var/mobile/Library/Calendar (one step less than the first time) clicked the blue arrow and saw that permissions was mobile. so i changed that to root.
--closed ifile opened SBsettings, and clicked respring. i thought maybe this would cause the changes to take effect. i hit respring three times before it respnded... then it resprung to the sad iphone
--from the sad iphone it has been caught in the respring loop. it goes from the sad iphone to my normal lock screen (i dont run any lockscreen apps).
here is what i have done so far:
--i replaced the Calendar.sqlitedb file with the old (presumably good) file from the old phone via SSH. this seemed to help a little in that now i was able to slide the slider but still, nothing, just back to the loop.
--i attempted to restore from backup in itunes. after about 10 minutes, nothing was happening; the phone continued to loop and itunes seemed to make no progress. so i disconnected the wire.
--i held down the home and sleep buttons until the phone powered down. holding down just the sleep/power button only caused the screen to dim, but the loop continued.
--once the power was off, i turned it back on and ran blackra1n from recovery mode. phone returned to loop.
--powered down again, same method and once in recovery mode, connected to itunes. itunes said it had to restore before it could do anything. i disconnected...
--ran blackra1n again, and once more while back in the loop, and still nothing. but now when i slide, i am seeing the error message about mobile substrate, however, it does not fully appear in that the phone starts to respring before anything can happen. i have been sliding the slider and each time the screen stops at a different level, meaning that i can see the icon animation but the respring stops it at various points. while writing this, i got a text message. it displayed, and then disappeared on the next respring.
Should i do a full hard reset, should i delete stuff via SSH, DFU, i dont know, but it seems like the phone is still intact enough not to need a full restore (which would = re-jailed...).
I really like using the internet radio feature on my phone using the wifi that is in our home. The only problem is every time I want to use it, I have to enter our password (that is a very long, random string of numbers and letters). Is it possible to save that password somewhere so I don't have to enter it each time I want to use internet radio?
ive been trying to connect my phone to my wifi since last night but the box is still greyed out. its not my internet because other phones in the house can get connected to the wifi but we have another blackberry which cant connect to the wifi either.
Just upgraded from a pearl to a curve and al of a sudden am experiencing this apparently common problem. Sorry if this is a new topic on an old subject but I am at the end of my tether trying to find a solution.
I just arrived canada and i've connected my torch to a wpa personal wifi,,,, the browser works fine but my bbm is not working, what to do to connect the device to bbm?
My LG G3 with Android 5.0 does not automatically connect my WiFi. I have set my WiFi to remember my phone. When I come back from a walk I always have connect to my WiFi manually.
My husband's iPhone 3GS isn't connecting to our wifi even though the network is showing in his list of networks. Both my iPhone 4s and my son's iPod touch are connecting ok. I've switched his wifi on and off, switched the phone on and off and reset network settings but it is still not working. In my wifi options our network has a tick against it but on his the processing circle thing is against it.
when i try and connect it to my WiFi it doesnt do anything. By this i mean that it doesn't connect but also an error message doesn't pop up. The little loading icon just stays there the whole time and doesn't make any progress. It has been like this for about 2 or 3 weeks now and i haven't updated it or done anything that might have caused this problem. Occasionally i do get the blue signal lines at the top of my screen but they disappear as soon as i try and do something with the internet. I am currently on version 5.0.1.
it does not coonect at all does not even list the wifi even though wi fi is on my iPhone 4s does not connect to wifi suddenly at all it does not even show the wifi available. it doesn't even let them pop up as a list, and my wifi is on I've tried everything resting, restoring nothing works it just does not even recognize
every time I connect my torch through wifi it knocks my internet off on my modem so I cant connect via home computer of blackbery I have a D link with talk talk, I have contacted them but with no help?
I work at a remote mine site for 2 weeks at a time and when i come here i don't have any cell service BUT i do keep in contact with family and friends through BBM (connecting through wifi.) NOW last time i was on my two weeks off my phone was acting slow, so i looked up how to speed it up and read that if i download some version of whatever ".246" from what i was running at the time ".144" it would speed up my phone.. I didnt install it just downloaded it on my two weeks off while i was in cell phone coverage area but when i got to camp i decided to install this upgraded program overnight while i was sleeping. When i woke up it shows i am connected to a wifi signal and i can access the internet browser and that all works fine like normally BUT it wont let me connect through bbm. it says that BBM is not connected to a network.. It says BBM Enterprise Service is "not connected" and Blackberry Internet Service is "Not connected" and mobile network is "not connected" What happened and how do i fix this so i can bbm again while i am here?? or do i have to wait two weeks till i leave camp and go back to home where i have cellphone signal?
I bought a new Neo V yesterday running android 2.3.4 and build number 4.0.2.I could just connect to my home wifi once yesterday when i set up the phone. From then on its been frustrating to get the wifi connectivity(WPA/WPA2) working, it just says the network Not in Range and sometimes does not even show it in the list of available wifi networks. The phone just does not recognise my wifi network i have 2 laptops and another android phone (2.1) connected to the network.I have tried doing everything described in some discussions here likeforget the network and try again - Restore to factory settings - worked just once after the restore and then back to the problem.
im trying to conecct to my PC via Wi.Fi, since it's bothesome to connect the USB cable each time i want to transfer something.I have a TP-Link wireless router to which my PC is connected via LAN and my phone via wireless, i have a Wi-Fi connection on my phone and the internet is working on it. Both PC and phone are in the same network (ex. 192.168.1.x, where x is the IP address for each device). What i can't manage to do i connect my PC and my pone via Wi-Fi, i followed the manual on page 111:[URL]The manual suggests the following:To pair your phone wirelessly with a computer using Media transfer mode:
1 Make sure Media transfer mode is enabled on your phone. It is normally enabledby default.
2 Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
3 Computer: Once the phone name appears on the screen, click Networkconfiguration and follow the instructions to pair the computer.
4 When you are finished pairing, disconnect the USB cable from both devices.
The above instructions only work if Windows® 7 is installed on your computer and the computer is connected to a Wi-Fi® Access Point via a network cable. (i have win7 x64 and my PC is connected to the Wi-Fi router via LAN)The problem is i can't get past step 3, as soon as i connect my phone to the PC the PC Companion recognizes it and there is no Network Configuration options availible like the manual said there would be. When i go to the Connectivity settings it says "No trusted hosts". Do i need to port-forward some port, If yes i know how to do do it, but i don't know which port.
