View 1 RepliesToday i downloaded the update to Android 5.1.1 and now the automatic screen rotation on my xperia z3 does not work, in both, the "normal" and the safety mode. In my settings the automatic screen rotation is activated. What is the reason could be and how i can fix it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have to either unplug it and plug it back in, restart my trip, or if I'm lucky, just hit the home button on my HU and click back on the app. But I still have to restart my trip.
This happens every single time every 10-15 minutes. Very annoying. I have uninstalled the app and redownloaded it. Still the same thing.
Using a Pioneer Nex-8100.
I have a Galaxy S5 with Lollipop through AT&T and had Best Buy install my Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. I updated the Pioneer firmware, set it up to look for Android Auto on USB2, Android Auto is set to start automatically, and I have the phone and Pioneer connected via Bluetooth. However, when I plug the micro-USB into the phone, all it does is start charging; nothing pops up saying the phone isn't compatible or anything else and I don't get the Android Auto ToS message. When I pull up the AV menu on the Pioneer, neither the USB1 nor USB2 icons are lit up. I've tried plugging the phone in with and without the Android Auto application installed. I double-checked and Best Buy did plug the USB into USB2 using the USB cable from the box. USB Debugging is enabled on the phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo my fully updated S5 lock screen will disable itself randomly. I will have it on the swipe or code lock and several days later it will just auto put it back to no screen lock. Same is happening to my wife's S5 and we have a few same apps that we have had for a year. It could be several days to one day.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my HTC one m8 for a month or so now, everything has been great till now, my phone won't auto lock. When there's a pop up notification from WhatsApp, the screen will remain lighted till I manually press the lock button. If I leave it on after surfing the net or doing anything else, it won't auto lock either.
I've tried setting the auto lock timer to screen timeout from 15 seconds to 2 minutes. All that seems to do is to dictate the time the screen takes to dim. But it never locks.
I've been googling ard and it doesn't seem like this is a common problem. I suspect it has to do with exposing my phone to a magnet.
I have an strange, occasional problem with screen brightness. This problem has survived a factory reset and flash from Android 5.0.x to 5.1.x. I had also recently cleared the partition cache.
My screen sometimes goes very dim. I keep brightness on Auto. However, when this happens, cycling brightness to full makes no difference to the dim screen. Furthermore, the screen is dim only in some instances, such as: ChromeNova Launcher home screenSome other apps (can't recall which)
In other places, I see full brightness. For example, the notification shade is in full brightness (or whatever Auto sets it too).
The other day, I was outside in bright sunlight. My browser suddenly went dim, almost unreadable. I clicked home - dim. I pulled the notification shade down - full brightness. Pulled notifications back up - dim again. On restart, everything is fine again.
I use Screen Filter, but it was not on. In fact, turning it on darkens the screen even further.
I got a brand new HTC Desire HD last week and the screen was auto-rotating for the first few days. I noticed last night that it no longer does. I've tried in the browser and also opera.I've gone to Settings->Display and auto-rotate is ticked. I did a G-Sensor calibration and that didn't help either. Is it possible that the accelerometer is broken? How can I test it to see if it's working?I also tried to play Replica Island using the accelerometer and the robot won't move no matter which way I tilt the phone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedLove my fone so far, but had not too much time playing with it so far, but one thing that bugs me is that my screen autolock straight after a call even if I am not back to my home screen, how can I stop it to do this.
Reason is that when I unlock it again, I am at the previous screen, I have then to cancel screens to go back to my home page to start again, this is a pain.
Just got an HTC One a few days ago and love it. However, I can't get the screen to rotate no matter what I do. I've tried toggling the 'auto-rotate screen' option on and off and on again. Tried doing a reset. Numerous reboots... When I run G-Sensor calibration, it says 'Calibrating' for a few seconds and then says 'Calibration stopped'. Also tried booting into safe mode and get the same results. Haven't used Android since 2009ish or so, so I'm not too familiar with all the settings and such... is there a setting or switch somewhere that I'm missing? Or does this sound like a hardware issue?

it will not work with any of the features on the phone now, even with it switched on.
Tried an app from the app store , this works fine.
My screen rotate does not work. I tried everything but... I think that sensor does not work properly because it doesn't matter that auto rotate is on .

I have a S5, the screen would just auto turn on even after lock. I have tried everything in setting but none can stop this. I have tried to move my hand above the sensor while it is locked, then the screen would turn on. The sensor would have a blue light first then the screen turn on.
Even the phone is in the bag or on the table while I am having meeting, the screen would just randomly turn on. It is very embarrassing while I am having important meeting and the phone is on the table. People may think I play phone or something like that.

View 1 Replies View RelatedUp until about four weeks ago, things were just peachy on the Auto Home and Navigation screens. Now, no matter what the brightness widget is set to, when I have my droid docked on the windshield, I can't see the menu(s). Also, the navigation screen is MUCH darker, but managable. Both these changes took place at the same time.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know there are other threads on this topic, especially regarding the Storm series of phones, but not anything from this year. So what's the update with this issue? It used to only rear its ugly head in landscape mode on my phone; now it auto dims (yes, with auto dimming turned off in my options) regardless of screen position or time of day outside. It's so bad now that it will auto dim and then brighten again like twice a minute. Really annoying when I'm web browsing or watching a video.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith Win 10 on both desktops and mobile MS seems to really want to hog up valuable screen space with taskbars. While in photo mode the taskbar goes away to allow full screen use, given that phones will always be limited in screen space I wish MS would allow the taskbar to autohide at least as a choose able option. The actual useable screen space on my 950 is not much more than my old 920 because of the constant taskbar.
