It's as bad again after doing reset and clearing the cache, my M7 is still brighter and quicker, there's obviously wrong with it (M8), so it's going back....to be honest, I'm going to say to them (cpw) that if they don't/won't take it back, I'll sell it keep the M7
I'm running stock 5.1.1, and even though my auto brightness is off my phone occasionally dims my display when it's on full brightness. It's not running particularly hot (37 degrees C according to my battery widget) so I don't know what's causing it to dim.
With my old Xperia Z1c, when adaptive brightness is on and the environment light is darkest, the screen brightness may be adjusted to, let's say, 0. Even you drag the brightness control bar to leftmost, the dimmest brightness you can get is still 0. But in Xperia Z5, you can go dimmer than that with the control bar, and this dim cannot be achieved using the same control bar if you disable the adaptive brightness. If one component cannot do something in manual mode, should not be able to do that thing in automatic mode either. So I believe that this is a bug.
My S6 keeps randomly changing brightness even though auto brightness is off. And so I found this option via search within settings, which may very well be exactly what I was looking for but couldn't seem find it in the settings menu in developer option(which has already been enabled).....
I've recently bought a Lumia 950XL. After few days of usage it started to behave strangely which led me to think a hard reset was needed but all those problems appear again after a day or two of using the device.
The problem is when I leave the phone for an hour or so, when I press the power button the display doesn't turn on but the iris scanner starts scanning and even unlocks the phone and after 1 or 2 seconds the screen turns on! The problem doesn't end here unfortunately. The brightness of the screen sets to its lowest and changing it doesn't have any effect it at all. The only working temporary fix is to restart the phone which is not really convenient.
I purchased a Xperia Z3 D6603 model from US but the screen brightness is very very low. Even with full brightness and auto brightness unticked the phone's screen brightness is way way low than other Xperia devices.
Coming from a Z3, I am disappointed by the adaptive brigthness. Whereas it used to work nicely on the Z3 (set up to 30%), on the Z5, with the same setting, the brightness turns to the minimum when the phone is used indoor with artificial lighting
Lumia 950 in my hand. Feels much lighter than my Lumia 930. Slightly larger in my hand but definitely thinner overall. Love the matte white finish. It's very elegant looking and gives a nice grip while holding it.
All of my settings and contacts synced perfectly (including my alarms).
AT&T HD Voice does work and is active. You'll see the text "AT&T HD Voice" when making a phone call to a compatible phone (my wife's 950 in this case). LTE remains active during the call.
Screen is not as good as the 930. Much dimmer overall. I'm not impressed with that as it's going to make using it outdoors a lot worse. Might have to pressure Microsoft to push a firmware update or something. The colors look accurate and vibrant, but dimmer is not better in the cell phone world. I turned off automatic brightness and set it to 100%. The photo below tells the story.
By the way, the photo below was taken on my wife's 950. The 930 is on the right.
I just tried some more stuff, including dropping the brightness slider down to 0%. I then pushed it back to 100%. I did not use the brightness button in the action center. It seems brighter now. I'd probably say it's about 90% as bright as the 930 all though not quite.
recently i damaged my Xperia screen and bought a replacement from online, the replacement i received worked for a whole 2 days before it started registering multiple fingers in which i sent it off to get another replacement! Â now i have another screen and for some reason the brightness is stuck on the lowest setting no matter what it says in the settings (i can have it on the highest in the settings and still nothing!).
my s5 had a weird filter when the brightness isn't at full. There are some lines, the colors are all washed out and inaccurate especially the blacks which appear red-brown. I have tried everything, yes, even a factory reset, and no luck. I took some pictures to describe the situation of my phone. And if you think it's just a bad camera quality, trust me, it isn't.
After unlocking the phone from stand-by the brightness is noticeable lower than the one I set, without adaptive brightness on, and after a short period of time, usually under 30 sec, the brightness goes up to the level I set it, and stays like that as long as the display is on. This problem repeats randomly, but very often, maybe 80% of the cases. The difference in display brightness when this happens is probably 10% - 15% and is very annoying. I already did a factory reset and a fresh install via PC Companion with no results. The phone is 2 months old, no major software update until now so I can't tell if it's a software or hardware problem.
Yesterday i factory reset my phone and saw a improvement in life after lollipop update. I have woke up today with 98% charge but lost 14% in 15 minutes if general browsing mainly on android central. Screen is set to lowest brightness..with 40% of the battery drain?
I've been trying to figure out what this is' but i can't find anything about it in the manual or on any sites. I can toggle it so i feel like it's supposed to do something...
I have an LG G4, is there a way of keeping my screen at 100% brightness. I'm a thug and like my screen at full brightness, but it always seem to dim no matter what.
Any way to keep the m8 from adaptively changing brightness in video content? The phone seems to go into a movie mode no matter where and how I play a video. Then, during that video the brightness changes according to the shot.
So I noticed that in the Best Buy store I work in we have a display model of the G4 and the brightness of the selfie camera is quite a bit brighter than mine.
I've been using the TMO S6 for a couple weeks and my battery life is terrible. I have used greenery to hibernate everything I can, but as you can see in the attached picture the Android system is running overtime. I am lucky if I get 4 hrs of battery time. I also have the screen brightness set to less than 50%.
I have the phone setup to auto brightness. sometimes the brightness will go up and then go back down. is the sensor just sensitive and detecting the angle changes of the phone relative to the room lighting?
I got an LG eve 2 days ago brand new from a private sale. It's locked to Rogers. I can adjust the brightness as it's greyed out. My sister has the same phone and she is able to enter the brightness adjustments.
My S6 keeps randomly changing brightness even though auto brightness is off. And so I found this option via search within settings, which may very well be exactly what I was looking for but couldn't seem find it in the settings menu in developer option.
The brightness is too intense, surf the web hurts the eyes and can not see the details of a picture because there is too much contrast. It should be an option to decrease the brightness, I am very surprised not to find it. I can lower the sound to protect my ears, I would like to also protect my eyes. Reduce the brightness could also increase the autonomy... I'm waiting for an update of the soft with new option..
How to reduce the brightness of X2 display..It eats up battery.....Is there a way to prevent the display from lighting up when I change tracks or stations using the music keys...
5 day new 9700, the brightness of the screen fluctuates between bright and less bright. Is this a setting issue or potentially a battery / hardware problem?
