I dont think i'm bring Paranoid but I am noticing when I swipe up to unlock my screen, enter my Pin and press Enter.. the phone doesnt unlock. It hangs and i get a blank black screen for a maybe 7 to 8 seconds.
I have to retry the process a few times to get a successful result.
It is noticeable now i have a software Update of 2.1.2. Not the Android Update.
1. Set up a code for your screen lock
2. Wait till the phone is "asleep"
3. Call the phone
The phone app freezes on my device, I cannot receive the call. Long clicking on the power button and toggling the Silent option the phone app crashes.Are there others having this issue? I saw a thread about this for Defy (sans plus).If so, has this been fixed with the software update that is available for eg. German users? When I hold the power button and the "Slide to power off" appears, I'm able to slide right and power it off. After is starts up, the problem does not occur for a few days and then raises up again. Seems to me like a software issue.

So, using the Moto screen that displays notifications, I swipe to unlock, then get another unlock for the main lock screen. Ergo, I have to swipe twice to unlock. Is there any fix other than no unlock? This leaves the phone open until the Moto screen takes over.

View 15 Replies View Relatedif you have an ecrypted Samsung Galaxy S5 you already know that once you've encrypted it your only option for a screen lock is to enter a secure password. This gets annoying fast. When you want to access your phone quickly on the go it can be difficult to unlock it with any speed. Well I've come up with a way to get past the password lock screen with the same speed as a password and consistently quicker than the finger print scanner unlock.
What I've done and I've included on how to do it yourself instructions below. I've set my password to be one of my hot key options on my Samsung keyboard. I've also shortened my delay for the long press but how to do that isnt included here. (hopefully with screen shots we'll see first time attempt at posting pics here)
Doing this will allow you to quickly get by your lock screen and still have an encrypted device.
**NOTE** This is not a substitute to remember your password. Know it regardless of this being setup or not.
**NOTE** If you have auto space turned on (factory default setting) you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the added space or you will receive an incorrect password error message.
Here's how to do it:
1. Enter the pull down menu and click settings.
2. Tap Language & Input.
3. Now click on the samsung keyboard settings icon.
4. Next if turn on the my hot keys icon.
5. Enter your password under any number to long press to have it typed.
*Don't forget if you have auto space on you will need to press backspace 1 time to delete the space or your password will not work.
I have a Pattern Setup as my lock screen for my phone, and 2 out of the 3 times I try to unlock it, it doesn't work. I try to drag the pattern out, but it thinks i lifted my finger and the lines go red, like when you guess the wrong pattern, and the lines go crazy, shooting to random dots on the lock screen, making it very tempremental. When this occurs i just click the lock button to shut the screen off, and then try again. Even after I do this, it still won't work and the lock screen will go crazy.

Is it possible to post personal alternate contact information on the main lock/unlock screen in case my phone is misplaced or lost? If my phone is misplaced, people have no options other than to go through the phone and figure out who the owner is. It would be great to have this feature. It would give me peace of mind knowing it's there in case it's found. Most people would try to return it to a store or its rightful owner.
View 4 Replies View Relatedbasically paid a website to get the unlock codes ,gave them the network the phone was on and the IMEI numbers, got the codes no problem about 4 days ago had not had time to put the codes in there still unused when all of a sudden today the phone went blank and froze after 5 mins it came back to life instead of dispaying Tesco mobile which the phone is locked to is said unlimited i thought great the websites unlocked it for me, i put an o2 sim in it came up o2 network thought great its worked then realised even tho the o2 sim is in the phone is still using the mobile numer from the tesco sim card how is this possible ? any ideas whats happened far as i knew u ordered the codes online they give you them then its up to you to install them, is it possible for the website to have done something? as i have not entered one single code into my phone all i did was send them the IMEI number and pay for it that was it never ever used the codes?

If i try and watch something lke bbc iplayer, on a good day i can just about get it to work at the small screen size that loads with the window, but if i try and go full screen the image frreezes but the audio track contiunes. It's the same if i try and export via hdmi. I have pretty solid wifi speed and signal strength is minimum of "fair " to "good/excellent " And it's not just iplayer but that is most common as major reason for purchase was to act as a wireless hub stream to my tv.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently made the switch back to android from an iPhone after quite a few years and I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with android's operating system and work out what I need to change and using this phone I noticed the notifications lacking, so I set up DashClock and DashNotifier and so far I love it. It does exactly what I want it to do for all the apps I have set up with it except for the notifications coming through the 'Messages' app on the phone for text messages.
When receiving a text message my lock screen ignores that I've set up DashClock as my default lock screen and pulls up the original lock screen with the quite ugly 'New Message' notification (as seen in the attached picture). If I scroll to the right DashClock is open and showing the message notification just fine. I've tried to disable the lock screen notifications for the 'Messages' app but haven't been successful in removing it. Is there a way to just have the 'Messages' app give lock screen notifications on the top bar and none like in the image below, or is there a work around within DashClock/DashNotifier or some other application that would fix this? My phone is running Android 4.4.2.
I updated my phone to lollipop 5.0, it is in general good till now, but i have two problems:

1) no notifications are displayed on my lock screen even for missed calls or sms's .. there is no any icon or symbol that informs me if i have missed any call or received a message ; and i have to unlock my phone every time to check

NOW whenever I text and use the space key, which is inevitable, the screen freezes completely. I have to take the battery out wait and then re-start. Got the phone home, let it charge, updated the phone, and set up all my accounts and apps. However, not 10 hours into owning the phone, I've now come across a problem - the whole left side of the screen (50% of the screen in vertical) randomly will freeze, making the phone look like it has had a stroke. Sometimes the freeze lasts for a few seconds, sometimes for several minutes, before it freezes on another screen. The weird thing is that the right side of the screen still works and acts as if nothing is wrong on the left. I plan on returning the phone tomorrow, but I'm seriously concerned as to whether this will happen again if I get another G4.

It is taking multiple attemts to unlock my phone.I also observed that when I get to call, to cancel dragging the icon from right to left this is required multiple attempts.i.e many time dragging icon from right to left.
I don't know whether it is software problem or hardware. As I purchased this phone in UK and using it in India, I am not sure how much service I can get in india from SE.I have bill for the mobile too.in other posts somebody told me to remove yahoo and i did the same but didn't find any difference.in short the touch scence is not responsive during unlock and for a while once get the home screen. I set a screen lock code today and used it several time with no problems. Tonight the unlock screen shows 'Enter Password to Unlock' but when I enter the pin code, it will not unlock.
