Is there an app, like Tasker that can automatically turn on and off the WiFi Calling feature.I like using the WiFi Calling feature when I am on my home WiFi, but I don't tend to use it when I am away from home.Sometimes I tend to forget to turn on the WiFi Calling feature when I get home, and other times I forget to turn it off when I am away from home.
So I am wondering if there is an app that will turn on the WiFi Calling feature when my phone connects to my home WiFi and turns off the WiFi Calling feature when I get out of range of my home WiFi.
I literally drop EVERY WiFi call after about 5-7 minutes. I get an error message "WiFi Signal Lost". I would normally just blame the WiFi network I'm on, but it does it on multiple totally different networks (home, work, Burger King, etc...). And I know for sure both home and work networks are very stable and fast. Not sure what the issue is. If I go and view the network details of the network I'm on, the signal strength is typically between -40 and -75 dBm. While in UMA mode, the phone will actually go out of UMA mode sometimes for no apparent reason, and won't go back into UMA mode until after a few minutes. The worst part is that the Home screen says I'm still connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner doesn't say UMA! It says 3G! And YES, my Mobile Network Mode is set to "WiFi Preferred". Even if I set it to WiFi Only, the top of the Home screen says I'm connected to the WiFi network, but the top right corner says OFF and the phone just goes dead!!
I use this phone for work and it needs to be reliable. Is my above WiFi Calling experience normal?? If not, does anybody know anything I can try? Are there some apps that conflict the with operation of the phone portion at all? I'm back to using the default theme now and it's still doing it... Should I try doing a factory reset? Here are the apps I can think of that I have installed:
Dark GalaxyCrunchSMSBolt Browser w/BBLauncher PluginQuickPullGoogleMapsWeather ChannelTetris by Electronic Arts I've removed a bunch of the default apps, but all other apps on the phone are ones that it came with.Another thing I've been noticing... it will randomly lock up for a few seconds and be TOTALLY unresponsive. If I'm scrolling through a page, the pointer will all of a sudden stop and become completely unresponsive for a few seconds. Then resumes like nothing happened. And, if I'm typing a long text or email and it does this total-lock up, I'll look up from the keyboard and see that none of my keystrokes were being echo'd onto the screen while it was locked up. But then it starts working again like nothing happened. BUT The strange thing is that if I'm typing while it's locked up, it doesn't appear to a buffer any of my keystrokes! (as opposed to on my old BB 8330: sometimes when it got bogged down because I had too much stuff running in the background, the keystrokes being echo'ed to the screen would sometimes slow down and lag behind my typing.... but it always kept track of what I typed and would eventually catch up.) HOWEVER, when my 9780 completely locks up like I mentioned above, it doesn't seem to recognize that I typed anything while it was locked up. when it "snaps out of it" and comes back to life, none of the keystrokes I typed while it was locked up are echo'ed onto the screen. I'm wondering if it's during these complete lockups that I'm dropping calls?
I have a sprint M8 and want to use WiFi calling but I'm noticing a bug with the GPS. When enabled the GPS is basically unusable and maps shows me in very weird places with no movement.
the announced Wifi calling feature of OS 7.1 never worked on my Torche 9810 ... I keep updating it but still I don't see any option to call using Wifi only as announced in the 7.1 update site.
soon as the phone tries to enable wifi calling via the settings it says authentecation error try again. then i click it to try again and it takes me to the self service thing and says it has been enabled and phone immediately reboots but then wifi calling still is not enabled and when i try again the proccess repeats.
Is there an app i can download for texting and calling on WIFI using my SAME number? Im not talking about textnow or textplus. You have to create a new number.I have low signal at my house and id like to be able to use an app that has my same number so people can still call me without being confused and having two numbers.
Does anyone know definitively what, if any, deployment of Wi-Fi/UMA the 9900 is going to get (in a future software update)? I have heard that it isn't getting it at all, it is getting UMA or it is getting GAN-Lite. I rely on this connectivity so much that it will make the difference between me buying this new Bold or not.
Received the following error when trying to make a calling using wifi? The error message says that I do not have internet calling account on my phone. And it sends me to a screen to set up a sip account. It doesn't always happen but it does happen when I try to make a call her from a contact page (ie, my wife's contact page that includes her numbers and other contact information). It doesn't happen if I dial a number from the phone app.
When I turn on my WiFi calling it keeps asking me to update my address. I press okay and it goes away for a minute or two. Then I get a pop up in the notification bar again. How to get this to stop .....
I bought a brand new 950XL from EE online hoping to get the wifi calling feature. To be clear it has never been advertised as having wifi calling but the older crapper 640 has it so it can work with a Nokia/Microsoft handset.
Brilliant I thought as I managed to turn it on and and use it when the phone arrived! I even got a text from EE confirming that it was turned on!
Then a sim update arrived lie it quite often does with a new phone and turned the option off in Settings, Network & Wireless, Mobile & Sim, Sim Settings. Now there is no way to turn it on.
So I reset again (4th time now!) thinking I may have triggered the update myself and got the wifi calling back again only to have another sim update and no wifi calling again!
Anyway, after two more phone calls to EE they have now told me that the handset is not compatible with wifi calling and they don't know if it ever will be! Which is bollocks as it has and does work as I have proved. They have turned it off with their sim update.
If ATT and Verizon enabled wifi calling for our devices would that mean I can send a full quality video to other phones (like imessage) without it being compressed and distorted ? I know imessage uses wifi and their own servers but Im not sure exactly how that works.
I bought a 2nd hand but pretty new S6. It had 3 software on it which has now gone. I have the latest version of Android and I am on "EE" but there is no option for me to turn on "Wifi Calling" The warranty centre who flashed the phone, said they were unable to put EE software on the phone. Any other way to add Wifi calling to the phone??
I live in a place where mobile signal (service provider) are hard to reach but the fortunate part is I have a wifi connectivity available. I am v7.1 which should support WiFi calling. Now, I have seen through many posts that wifi calling is service provider specific and not all service providers even in US would not support wifi calling. I am just wondering if there are any service providers who support WiFi calling in India. I really wish this feature can be used as it would impact me on connectivity.
I have a 9360 on Mobilicity Canada, which should allow wifi calling, however I cant find where to enable this.I am told this is carrier dependent, but my carrier seems to support this, so is it locked by the phone, or the build? The phone itself is originally from Wind, and I'm on 7.1.0.523 which I downloaded while travelling (and using a different sim). Do I need to roll back to a mobility specific build?
Wifi calling on my Sprint G3, stopped working, giving me the "unable to authenticate" error. I've tried setting/saving the address. forgetting and then finding my router, and even the ##72786#, all with no luck.
What would cause my wifi calling to drop frequently on my new LGG4? It will post a notification that wifi calling cannot connect so I go to the setting bar, disable wifi calling and turn it back on. It will come back on and work fine for a day or so and then it randomly disconnects again. It will transition from home to work with no problems also, just randomly disconnects at either location every now and then??
I currently am running Stock ROM from EE which includes WiFi Calling. I want to use custom ROMs but I cannot due to it not having WiFi Calling, I have asked developers but I have been ignored. I do not have any signal at work nor at home so I rely on WiFi Calling, how do I put it on a custom rom myself?
I've seen a few treads addressing Wifi Calling, but they typically seem to address it in combination with other features (VoLTE, Band 12, etc) and not specifically on MetroPCS (yes, it is T-Mobile). My question:
I have both a Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. I have provided my E911 address for both phones and I can get WiFi calling to work on the 5X but not on the 6P. Both phones are rooted with the "N" build and both have the original radio (from "D") flashed for band 12.
Downloaded the Verizon update. Turned on wifi Calling in settings. Place a call and when the person answers the wifi symbol appears in the upper left of the connection screen. Neither party can hear the other, and the phone disconnects after about 10 seconds..
I've started to receive error message ER01 "invalid certificate". With a red wifi calling symbol in the notification bar... This started 3 days ago.. I can still go online but can't text or call... T-Mobile tried to support but failed...
I am running 6.0.1 on my 6p. I am wondering if there is a way to force WiFi calling . I was recently out of the country when I connect to WiFi and turn on WiFi calling it may time still used the cellular network. What is the way force the use of WiFi calling???

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 on the EE network in the UK. I should have the option to use wifi calling but the option is not present in the settings menus. My phone was not originally supplied by the EE mobile provider, instead I purchased the phone which appears to have come from Italy and has the Italian mobile provider TIM (this is shown on the CSC code on the phone)
How to either change this CSC code to the UK one for EE or at least the generic one for UK specific firmware, or a way of somehow enabling the wifi calling feature - I did look this up but I can't edit the necessary system config (xml) files as they are read-only and my phone is not rooted.
I'm noticing that Google really likes to sync in the background throughout the day. Any good way to automatically sync my accounts(mainly Google and Samsung) only when I'm connected to Wifi and External Power? I'd like a simple way to do this hopefully without needing to root the S6.
