HTC One M7 :: Speakers / Speakerphone Loud Then Goes To Soft Automatically In 1 To 2 Seconds
Aug 15, 2014
I have a HTC One M7 on AT&T. It's rooted running Android 4.3.
Just this past week, I have started having an issue with the volume of the built in speakers. I first noticed it on speakerphone. When Speakerphone is first activated and turned all the way, it is loud (as loud as it has always been since new) but then within about 1-2 seconds, it gets quite a bit softer. If I am in a very quiet location, it is loud enough to use, if the location has any noise above dead quiet, the speakerphone is too soft to use.
I can repeat this over and over again, turn off speakerphone, and turn on again and the same thing happens first loud then much softer in 1 to 2 seconds. Moving the volume slider using the side rocker does not make the sound any louder either. When it is on speakerphone and I move it down from 100% volume to 0% volume, it does not start to get softer until I get down to about 25%. When I move it from 0% up to 100%, it seems to stop getting louder at about 25%, almost like there is a volume limiter on it preventing it from getting too loud.
I though about a factory reset but I hate to have to go through the hassle of re-installing everything if this might be a hardware issue.
I also see a similar behavior in Sirius XM Radio where it is loud at first (when started with 100% volume) then it makes it much quieter
Noticed that the speakerphone volume all the way up is not loud? Regardless of playing music or using speakerphone either on a call or watching a YouTube video, it just stinks.
I swear it used to be louder. I have gone into settings etc and nothing changes it. I haven't gotten it wet nor dropped it. I don't have pocket lint and crap in the way.
I have an iPhone 4s and I use it occasionally with an ihome. Now, when I try to play music out of the regular speakers, no sound comes out and it says that I have 2 options: iPhone, or iPhone speaker. I then tried both settings, none of which that worked. I tried it again on my ihome, with both settings and it still didn't work. I unplugged it and tried it again, and 1 second of my song played and then stopped.
In the last few days or so after updating to 4.4 I've noticed that the speakerphone comes on automatically when placing a call. This is incredibly annoying.
So today has started yet another problem. Now when I go to answer my calls or make a call, it is automatically on speakerphone. I turned my phone off and it helped for a few calls and now the problem has returned. I have heard of USB ports going bad or something of that sort (not really familiar with it). Hopefully this is not what happened, yet then again maybe I could get a refurb not riddled with problems.
my friend has recently brought a Samsung galaxy s2 and pressed something that now whenever he receives a call it automatically goes to loud speaker..I have checked and can't see any settings different to my sgs2..obv I haven't looked hard enough
Have just got my new X6 and its great except that i am having problems with my connection to my bluetooth car kit. It connects fine and has paired with it but it seems to disconnecting every 25 seconds or so and then reconnecting 25 seconds later. Its driving me bananas cos each time it does it the radio cuts out. If i am on a call it seems to keep connection. I fell i may have missed a setting somewhere but cant find anything about this.
The apple logo appears for 5 seconds then disappears for 10 then appears for five and so on. I can get it to the connect to iTunes screen but as soon as I unplug it from the wall it shuts off completely. A laptop with iTunes isn't enough to power it up.
My blackberry curve started going slow then some of my keypad buttons stopped working. Have tried to reboot by taking battery out etc. Can't do soft reset cause delete button doesn't work.
I see that it's possible to use one's pc as a speakerphone through bluetooth. I'm not using the desktop software but the inherit software on the unit. I can type a number and phone from the pc but the pc speaker phone doesn't work??
While I'm on a call on speakerphone, the phone will go to sleep. The problem is that when I am finished with the call, I cannot end the call until after I wake up the phone. I would rather the phone stay awake during the call so I can end it right away. I have tried some apps that are supposed to keep apps awake such as Wakey without success.
I got attached to only one thing during my time on Windows Phone. I used to be able to have Cortona "Call X on Speakerphone" and it would automatically dial and turn on the speakerphone. Only thing I loved about that os.
When I try to talk on speakerphone, people tell me they can barely hear me. Sometimes my voice is clear, other times it sounds like I am muffled or far away. A phone case is not in the way, nor is the microphone clogged. The phone has done this since I bought it 5 months ago.
I am able to use the voice recorder and can be heard fine.Samsung told me to do a complete reinstall of the phone. I do not want to back everything up and risk losing data as I have syncing issues with my mac.
I have a bb curve 8520 and bbm version 4.6.0. It's a work bb (BB Enterprise) so I can't update to the newest version of the software and I can't delete and reinstall the software.I had to restart by bb today (took out the battery and put it back in) and I lost all of by bbm contacts. I've already tried to restore through the BB Desktop Manager
When I record a Snapchat video while talking and ecord a voice message , the playback can't be heard. I barely heard anything even thought the volume is set to the max. This happened when I've updated to Lollipop.
Out of a sudden, the ring notification has become very very very soft. Tried changing ring tones, restarted phone and checked all sound and notification settings to no avail. Volume of the ringtone is load when tested in the sound and notification setting menu.
