I've had the 3D for a few weeks now and overall think it's a great smartphone. I was expecting poor battery life but on two occasions it went from fully charged to brick dead overnight (6-7 hours). Most apps, bluetooth and GPS off. I haven't experienced such quick drain during the day when I'm using it. I have also noticed an excessive amount of heat while charging.
View 1 RepliesI got this phone 10 days ago and getting used to it. The battery charge was ok for the first couple of cycle (every alternate day) and in the last 2 cycle the battery gets charged and drains within a few hours being in standby mode. During this period the phone is quite hot.

While on call, it happens sometimes. I have updated to latest using Zune. I am thinking this is a glitch in WP7 and can be fixed with a OS firmware update but maybe the handset is also at fault?
View 17 Replies View RelatedFound the culprit that was causing my Storm to drain the battery and get hot, It was an app called StormSlider also called BerrySlider.There has been a few updates since release 5.0 but the author doesnt seem to have got the battery drain problem solved yet i was running version 5.08, this has cost me a battery as it cooked it whilst it was on charge.Ive removed the app and my phone is fine again.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI recently received my N8 (1-1.5 weeks ago) and have been having a lot of fun with it however my biggest gripe is that the battery would require charging far too soon (once or twice a day depending on use)I was a little dumbfounded as reviews have been praising the N8s battery life. However I thought perhaps my usage was a little more extreme than the common user/reviewer.
Until the other night, before bed, my battery indicator showed roughly 50% battery life; I had turned my widgets and apps off (my bluetooth and gps were also off the only thing on was my wifi)
I locked my screen, leaving the clock screensaver on, and proceeded to sleep not 4 hours later I awoke and wanted to check what time it was but my phone had shut off, the battery was drained!
This doesn't seem normal to me and I posed the question to the aforementioned blog and the replies I received also found the situation odd.I have proceeded with a test after charging my battery to full. This time I have insured everything is turned off, that is the: widgets are in offline mode; apps; wlan; gps; bluetooth; FM transmitter. I have left the clock screensaver on and am waiting to see how long the battery lasts.
Had my M8 for 2 weeks now and at first the battery was terrible as I could barely get 12 hours out of the phone. After a hard reset, its now up to 30-35 hours with about 6-7 hours screen time. First of all, is this normal or is this still lacking? The most I got was 50 hours with 3 hours screen time and about 15% left on the battery before charging. I don't use the power saver feature on the phone.
Secondly, I have noticed that when I charge my phone to full, between 100% and 88%, the battery drains extremely quickly. It takes a third less time to drop a percent than below 88%. After that point the battery drain seems to be normal and fairly slow.
Since the latest firmware update ive noticed my phone battery isnt lasting that long at all.
was fully charged when i went to bed, 8 hrs later without use its a 1/4 down. now through the day at work using it everynow n again for text message im down to 1/4 left.
I have the Lumia 820 with the Navigon navigation app installed. I went on a trip this past weekend and noticed a strange battery drain while driving to my destination. The drive was a little over 2 hours and I was charging the phone the whole time. I figured I would test it on the drive home. I charged the phone completely before starting the drive home. I was camping so I had to use the lighter jack in the car which is always on and charged the phone from less then 10% to 100% overnight. Again the drive was a little over 2 hours, had the Navigon app open and running the whole time and the phone was plugged into the lighter and the charging icon was registering a charge the whole time. The only other thing running was cellular data. NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi, Nokia Drive, all off. When I arrived home the phone was at 45% and was very hot.
I upgraded from the Samsung Focus and using the Navigon app in the same car never ever had less power when I I ended a trip to when I started a trip. I use the Navigon app all time so this is a real issue. I am also going to post this on the Navigon website.
battery draining while using GPS in the car? Yesterday I drove for two hours and went from 99% to about 48%, all while charging (no other apps running, auto-brightness, no bluetooth, etc.) The charger isn't the fault as I tested it with my wife's M8 (using same apps, etc.). The M8 reached 100% and stayed there. I've since purchased a 2.0 quick charger (which I've yet to use) but why the performance would be drastically worse on the M9. I ran a check disk on my SD card (Sandisk Ultra 64GB) and so errors were found. Outside of the car/GPS use, battery seems close to the M8 but, if anything, a little worse. I can live with that but cannot have my phone drained after a long drive in the car.

Even when it is plugged in charging, i keep getting messages saying the phone is unable to charge as it is using too much power. And previously i could charge the phone overnight fully, now it doesn't get close to 40%

I then replaced the battery thinking it had run its course but the problem persists. I have no open programs running and no new applications installed that might be using up the battery. the phone gets warm and the battery dies rapidly.

I have searched the web/these boards and tried countless things but nothing seems to be working. Basically if I do anything on the phone it will immediately start to heat up and drain the battery. I have recently had the screen replaced, not by apple themselves but by a certified specialist that uses apple equipment, could this be part to blame?
I have tried a 2/3 full restores, resetting network, resetting settings. I did notice that when iCloud was disabled it didn't seem to drain the battery as quick but personally I don't want to settle for having to run my phone with half the functions turned off!
One last thing I am going to try is something I read on cnet which was to do a backup onto my computer (I have been doing all the resets via wireless/cloud at the moment) and then reset the setting, run the battery right down and then full restore the battery to 100%.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an LG G4 and have been enjoying Quick Charging using multiple Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 chargers I bought since I got it. Have noticed recently though that it doesn't charge as fast as it used to. Though the G4 doesn't really post a notification on screen that it is fast charging, usually by an hour our charging I'm at full capacity and ready to take it to work (don't charge overnight, just charge an hour after I wake up then by the time I leave, i'm good to go).
Now after an hour, it's still below 40% charging! I'm now wondering if it has something to do with my new smartwatch which I paired to my G4. Bought a gorgeous Huawei Watch last week and it's paired to my G4. I'm thinking if it being paired--meaning it constantly getting information from the watch even when charging--is causing the phone to constantly wake up and stop fast charging?
I just tested this theory a few minutes ago. Turned off bluetooth in my G4 and it seems fast charging went back coz phone charging ended faster. Do Smartwatch paired phones keep the phone from Quick Charging?

My girlfriend owns a Razr and every since the ICS update she has been telling me her phone has giving her problems. It gets hot when listening to pandora or videos after a short time in use. Her battery life wasnt the greatest from the beginning but after ICS it's worse. I was suppose to do this a week ago after I mentioned. Now shes threatening to take my Maxx.
