I've just changed from an S740 to a Desire Z - and very nice it is too, except I cannot get it to connect to my PC for anything else than charging the battery.
I've read the manual about making the connection but no go, even with the local firewall (Avira) turned off and either "HTC synch" or "disc drive" set as default.
I am currently using a HTC Desire with the standard HTC visual theme. For the last couple of days I have had this issue where the message that my phone is running out of storage space has been showing up and not going away.I have checked the amount of storage space I actually have available (10,70mb Internally and 3,66GB on a external SD card.) Well enough space to use. I have tried rectifying this by moving bigger applications and games to the SD card (amount of storage space available I posted earlier is after this) as well as emptying my text message storage and image gallery. Yet it does not go away.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've downloaded the same task killer onto my desire s as I had onto my hero but with the desire there are always several apps running minutes after I've killed them. I've had to configure the task killer to kill apps every 30 mins. I don't think the task killer is to blame as it works well enough on the hero but maybe android 2.2 is overriding it. The task killer is 'advanced task killer v1.9.6 build 76' by Rechild. Is this normal behaviour for android 2.2 or is the task killer app simply not coping?

I can't see them in Gallery any more. Luckily due to the backup software Astro, i have got my Pictures back but I can't locate my videos anywhere. To remind you, I just transferred them, not deleted them from mobile.

Anyone any ideas on how I can improve the download speed on the Desire, or is this the speed which it is supposed to operate at?

Could this be a fault be with the Microphone of my Desire?
When it asks me to download voice guideline it doesnt connect just endlessly displays connecting. I have no problems connecting with anything else.

I cannot find a way to update it atall, phone is not rooted as I ave no idea how to do this and worried that following guides online will brick the phone.
how to update to 2.3.5 or even 4.0.3 (but would prefer 2.3.5) I was running 4.0.3 on my HTC Sensation and it was very buggy.
For the last week or so the phone keeps shutting itself off and restarting only to go into a loop.
I then take battery out and start up again. It will get to the main screen and will just do the same thing again. After ages and ages of messing around it will then seem to be fine.
I've noticed it only seems to do it late in the evening and on the taskbar it keeps showing the gps satalite symbol. If the phone dnt show it then it dnt seem to shut down.
I always believed this phone to be of good reliability but its not. I will be phoning my operator as to me its a faulty phone. I do have anti virus apps which show no problem.

It appears any 'Restore' option would only be available after a softare update, or factory restore. Seems rather limited. I've also connected 'Disk Drive' option and tried to copy the files onto PC. I had to do one folder at a time and the .data file would not copy over at all.
