The LCD works perfectly. Images that are displayed are correct, colors are good, but the touch aspect of it does not work. Occasionally the touch would come back but 95% of the time, the screen doesn't respond to touches. The phone wasn't dropped or anything. It just decided one day to crap out on the touch. Would it be easier to just replace the digitizer and not waste money to buy the whole screen assembly? Not to mention the replacement screens on eBay are probably not as good as the original OEM screen.
While i was at school my Nexus 5 is still working properly. Our class will be staring soon so I turned on my Nexus 5's screen to put it to silent mode and close some apps, but white horizontal lines suddenly keeps appearing and disappearing and will appear again (like it was Fluctuating) then i turned the screen off and turned it on again and the white lines stopped but when i tried to unlock it, the touch screen won't work. I did not drop it nor did it got wet. What caused it to do that? (NOTE: I did a hard reset, Factory Data reset doesn't work, and other buttons is still working properly)
I don't know why, but my touchscreen no longer works. Buttons all work and the general function of the phone seems to be intact. I've been looking for a factory reset option using fastboot and I haven't found anything yet. Also tried to the "factory option in fastboot" in hopes it would completely reset my phone. I don't know if this is a software or hardware issue yet, but it's extremely aggravating.
I bought a song from the play store the other day only to find that Google Play Music will no longer play any music on my Nexus 5. I do have PowerAmp set as my default player (I think) and I cleared the GPM app cache. It should work but it doesn't play anything at all, none of my other music either.
Before explaining what the problem is, I want to state I have searched Google, XDA and various other websites to solve it myself. I do know the #1 rule of XDA
Today I've tried to use ADB Sideload to install a rom on my Nexus 5. I've done this before one time, when I accidentally formatted my entire phone, and it worked. Currently my phone is in TWRP Recovery, and ADB does recognize my phone when I type in 'adb devices' in the command prompt. However, when I click ADB Sideload on TWRP to sideload the rom from my laptop, the phone disconnects from my laptop (I hear the 'ding' from Windows), and I can't sideload anything at all.
I did update all possible drivers (ADB and Google), tried all USB-ports available, and even tried another laptop, but nothing worked.
I just installed the latest Chroma custom ROM and I cannot make the led work: it is enabled, both for notifications and battery, but it doesn't work. When plugging a cable that will charge the phone I can see the led flash briefly (~ 0.5sec) and then it stays off.
I got a second hand Nexus 5 with corrupted WI-FI and bluetooth, If there is a way to fix it. Currently I have updated to 6.0.1. In settings "MAC address WI-FI" is 02: 00: 00: 00: 00: 00.
My Whatsapp is not working on wifi. It only works on mobile data. sometimes i receive messages on whatsapp but my messages do not go out (they remain as draft messages).
I was using another phone and changed to Nexus 5. Now my whatsapp does not work on wifi.
I got nexus 5 a week back and sometimes the screen lock does not work even if I click power button to lock the screen. I just have to wait to get battery down then it starts working, i restart the phone couple of times but the same problem appears screen does not get locked automatically nor manually.
I like to put my phone on silent overnight so I cannot hear incoming emails and texts. However, having 2 elderly and infirm parents living quite a distance away, I would like the phone to ring in case of emergency. This would be brother, sister, care home etc. Selective numbers so to speak. I can't find a way to do it on the phone, but note there are many apps that suggest they may work.
I have a Nexus 5 Phone. I use Viber and Magic jack for VOIP. These apps work fine as long as I am in WIFI zone Once I go to 3G zone I get error message. 3G is working fine for Internet browsing.
I have a nexus 5 and when Facebook updated yesterday it quit working. It says setting up Facebook when you launch it after awhile it says just a moment. While this is happening my phone gets hot and it drains the battery.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no success.
when I turn the WiFi repeater on it says "failed to start WiFi repeater: failed to start hotspot".I don't know what's going on, it always worked when I had kk and now that I actually need it does not work..
I've been having issues with my rear camera on Nexus 5 (my front facing camera works fine). Currently the camera and the flash will not work and basically stopped working some time around the upgrade to lollipop. While on lollipop, I tried uninstalling the app updates, restarting, clearing the cache... Now, I'm currently running 6.0 and still the camera/flash are not working. Tonight I tried wiping the phone and reverting all the way back to kitkat 4.4.4 to see if that would fix it. I tried this multiple times, wiping and reflashing to various versions ranging from 4.4.0 to 6.0 to see if any would somehow fix the camera issue, but none worked.
At this point, I'm back on 6.0 and its still not working. My phone doesn't even show the default camera app in the app drawer. I have to access it through the shortcut on the lock screen and when I do I get the "Can't connect to the camera" message. I'm assuming its a hardware issue at this point. From what I can tell, the flash is not part of the camera module, so if the camera itself broke, it seems like the camera flash should still be recognized and functional (its not in my case, not even an option for the default flashlight on the taskbar pull-down screen). I am wondering if its worth buying an oem replacement camera module and installing it to see if this fixes the issues.
It's a couple of days my phone doesn't sync and download new emails. I switched to Aquamail and it's working. I can't understand what happened to the stock email app
Yesterday the volume down button and power button started not working. This has happened before and usually if I turn it off and on again the problem is fixed. That's not working this time. The power button works about 2/3rds of the time and the down volume button won't work at all, it sometimes even lowers the volume by itself. Because of this problem, whenever I turn the phone off and on again it brings me to the fastboot page and puts my phone on safemode, which I can't get out of. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, doing a factory data reset, and using recovery mode.
my friend nexus 5 got water damage. he opened it up and cleaned the corrosion. when he put it back together one pin was short circuited and smoked a lil. but then he removed the pin and able to boot the phone. it goes to the google then to the flying color dots but stuck there forever.
i tried adb, it says connection: closed.
so i tried fastboot oem unlock and suceeded
i try able to fastboot flash recovery.img to TWRP, but after flashed, the recovery is still stock recovery.
I go back to fastboot and saw unlock was not there anymore.
so why is the unlock doesn't stay and the flashing in fastboot doesn't get updated.?
So out of the blue my Nexus 5 has decided to just hang at 0% when fetching attachments in any email on my work account which is an exchange server. I can open files in any other email (Gmail accounts, Hotmail, yahoo) but not via my work acct? Have tried rebooting the phone with no luck.
I'm running stock Lollipop on the Nexus 5 , but the new heads up notifications in Lollipop doesn't work correctly. They show up, displaying the correct information, but the buttons doesn't work. This is causing me to have to dismiss the notification, open the notification tray and act on the notification from there. Is it something an app I'm using that's causing the problem? I've tested with both Hangouts video calls and the alarm clock.
I cannot dial or initiate an outgoing call using my Car's Bluetooth system, if the screen is locked. If I try to dial out using my car's system, i.e either using numbers stored in car's speed dial or voice dialing feature. it simply doe not work. But when I look at the phone and unlock the screen, phone starts dialing out.
This totally defeats the purpose of hand free Bluetooth system, in the car. I never has this issue with any other phone, including Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S3 or various versions of iphone.
My nexus 5 is not working, touchscreen doesnt work. I got a replacement phone, but I need to transfer the data from the old phone. On connecting to computer, the nexus5 is recognized, but it shows only 0 files.
How to get all the data from the phone. I cannot do anything from the phone since touchscreen is non functional.
I am having problems with the combination of radio apps (e.g. TuneIn, CBC Radio, NPR), and a Bluetooth speaker (Blackweb SoundPebble). The apps work fine and will play through the Nexus 5 speakers or headphones when no Bluetooth speaker is connected. However, when I connect a Bluetooth speaker, the apps do not work - they don't get past the title screen. The Bluetooth speaker works OK with locally stored files e.g. music saved to the device.
My Nexus 5, with default Google Keyboard, has stopped showing word suggestions. It used to work but doesn't anymore. The keyboard is not set to the same language as the system language.
