I tried Dolphin browser HD from the Play Store, it's nice but you can't import your Google Chrome bookmarks internet browser? I realized that the memory footprint a little lighter and you can actually run their websites and desktop format vs mobile format. I love my Chromebook tomorrow I uninstalled all the updates from Google Chrome because the latest update is 90 megs of RAM and the first version of Chrome in the play stores only 35 megs of RAM why
While apps that use Internet work OK, I cannot connect to websites by using the stock browser and the newly installed Dolphin browser. I cleared the cache for the Browser and this did not help.
I'm running Cataclysm ROM (the Sept. 10 beta), Franco kernel, and I'm rooted and use Xposed. I receive this error when I try to add a card in Android Pay: "Android Pay cannot be used: Google is unable to verify that your device of the software running on it is Android compatible". I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.
How to sync bookmarks to a dropbox folder?I've got this set up with IE for my PC desktops but can't seem to figure this out for Dolphin. Dolphin will sync to google but as far as I can tell this only let's you save to google, there does not seem to be a mechanism to "path" Dolphin out to Dropbox. I'm tired of having two "worlds" for web favorites.
Wanting to try a new browser, the makers of Dolphin HD Browser, have now made a tablet specific browser called Dolphin Pad... at first glance, it looks pretty nice, IMO.But it crashes sometimes
So when using Dolphin browser on my S6, and visiting some sites [replicable for me loading up imgur.com ] the browser freezes up midway through loading it, and the page becomes unresponsive. A few seconds later the screen goes black, and brings me back to the home screen of the phone. After this, my wallpaper would be reverted to default, and while plugged into my computer I would lose access to the sd card. After crash like that from Dolphin on s6? I've since uninstalled it and have been using chrome for now.
So I have been using dolphin browser for about a year and a half now and to save photos on the browser all I had to do was long hold on it and it would save automatically. Now I have to go to the website in order to get to the photo and then save it.
So to get to the point my nexus 5 is running android 6.0.1 and i was wondering for download to root it without my pc? My computers hard drive keeps acting up and crashing.
I have run out of space on my phone. (Again. Why can't I add an sdcard to this nexus thing dammit?) I'm going through the Storage sections under Settings, picking and choosing what I want to keep and discard. There's a number of items appearing in Downloads that I want to move to my PC, but I can't find the files and the only commands available are Open, Delete and Share. How do I locate the items so can copy them?My phone is not rooted and is running Lollipop 5.1.1.
Downloads as shown in from Settings >> Storage: [URL] .....
In Lollipop there used to be a section under apps in the settings where you could see what all was currently running in the background. It looks like in Marshmallow this feature has been removed or moved to a different location in the settings. Where it moved to and how to find this in the settings?
I just got a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.4 yesterday (graduated from a 3 year old Samsung Ace so I am a little overwhelmed by the fancy new phone!!). I can't seem to find a call log anywhere? When I hit the phone symbol, it brings up the 'speed dial' screen with the most frequently called contacts, but there doesn't seem to be the typical call history with calls made, missed calls etc....or at least I can't find it!! I missed a few calls today and after the notification disappeared I can't find the numbers again!
I've been having random shutdowns lately. And i just got a warranty exchange same thing happens. I have the t-mobile version. i do have the latest version of 5.1.1 ....
So I recently got my Nexus 5, switched as an avid Blackberry user (of the last 12 years, and 6 devices!) So far I LOVE the Nexus 5, and Android OS I think I should have been made the switch earlier. As soon as I got my phone and activated with my existing T-Mobile SIM, everything was working fine, except the Mobile DATA Network wouldn't work (only would work via wi-fi.) I called T-MO Tech Support 3-4 times, and after doing a factory reset, everything was back to working GREAT!
Now, 1 week later the Data Network stopped working AGAIN (I can make and receive calls, and text messages, however no Internet via Mobile Network.) I didn't change any settings or anything.. Again, I called t-mobile and they tried EVERYTHING (reset APN Settings, checked APN, Protocol, etc..) The last thing they asked me to do again was a factory reset, and once again everything seems to be working fine.
My question is: Why it keeps occurring? I don't use very many apps (FB, IG, WhatsApp, Weather, &Twitter only.) T-Mo was suggesting it could be an app causing this issue but I doubt it.
I would like to know if it is possible to bypass the setup wizard on my nexus 5 running marshmallow as my touch screen won't work (Because I dropped it) and the setup wizard won't allow me to use a mouse and keyboard using otg.
In setting/battery there are several apps shown. Are these the apps running in the background and consuming battery? If NOT how could I find out what apps are running in the b/g?
I stopped some of these apps (not the ones for android services) using "Force stop" but they were still appears here. So how could I stop them to save battery?
I currently have an unlocked Nexus 6 running latest build of 5.1 on Verizon right now since Sunday. However I can't get the Nexus to show in my Android Device Manager. The Nexus does show in Google Play. I have cleared cache and data from Device Manager app, I have uninstalled and re installed Device Manager as well. I have went into Google settings>Security and toggled on and off "Remotely locate this device" and "Allow remote lock and erase". I have powered down and on this device several times. I have removed my Google account and then resigned back into the account. I just can't think of anything else to do. I have searched online for this problem and have done everything that was told to me. I am hoping not to factory reset the device but if its the last result, I may not have a choose.
P.S. Is there a setting that I'm missing that has either Gmail or Inbox app retrieve emails quicker. It doesn't seem to be refreshing or pushing the emails to my phone very often. I have missed couple very important emails because of this. Not sure if its a related problem with the device manager situtation (doubt it).
I just got a Nexus 6 running Android 5.1.1 Today I added my personal email account and my work email account to the phone. When I tried to remove my work email account, the option to remove is not there. I've gone into accounts and selected the account that I want to remove and the option is just not there. The same for my personal account too. How can I remove this email account from my phone?
I upgraded to Marshmallow over the weekend and the "close all" button is not included in Marshmallow. When I have a list of apps open I need to close them one by one. Is it not possible to close all open apps in one go?
Unless my WiFi is connected my Browser will not work with the 4g LTE. I don't know if its my APN settings or if something else is wrong. I'm on Straight Talk with an AT&T Sim card.
Can I set my phone to always open Google search page each time i open Firefox ? It wants to show me the last page viewed. I would like it to offer a clean blank Google screen with blank address bar ready for typing a search !!
I bought a song from the play store the other day only to find that Google Play Music will no longer play any music on my Nexus 5. I do have PowerAmp set as my default player (I think) and I cleared the GPM app cache. It should work but it doesn't play anything at all, none of my other music either.
Getting a lot of notices to wait or quit the stock android browser.. Phone is not full or running too many apps.. I notice the same on my mac chrome also. Beach balling a lot..
Before explaining what the problem is, I want to state I have searched Google, XDA and various other websites to solve it myself. I do know the #1 rule of XDA
Today I've tried to use ADB Sideload to install a rom on my Nexus 5. I've done this before one time, when I accidentally formatted my entire phone, and it worked. Currently my phone is in TWRP Recovery, and ADB does recognize my phone when I type in 'adb devices' in the command prompt. However, when I click ADB Sideload on TWRP to sideload the rom from my laptop, the phone disconnects from my laptop (I hear the 'ding' from Windows), and I can't sideload anything at all.
I did update all possible drivers (ADB and Google), tried all USB-ports available, and even tried another laptop, but nothing worked.
I just installed the latest Chroma custom ROM and I cannot make the led work: it is enabled, both for notifications and battery, but it doesn't work. When plugging a cable that will charge the phone I can see the led flash briefly (~ 0.5sec) and then it stays off.
I got a second hand Nexus 5 with corrupted WI-FI and bluetooth, If there is a way to fix it. Currently I have updated to 6.0.1. In settings "MAC address WI-FI" is 02: 00: 00: 00: 00: 00.
The LCD works perfectly. Images that are displayed are correct, colors are good, but the touch aspect of it does not work. Occasionally the touch would come back but 95% of the time, the screen doesn't respond to touches. The phone wasn't dropped or anything. It just decided one day to crap out on the touch. Would it be easier to just replace the digitizer and not waste money to buy the whole screen assembly? Not to mention the replacement screens on eBay are probably not as good as the original OEM screen.
