Google Nexus 5 :: Installing Marshmallow On A Rooted Device
Oct 9, 2015I had a lot of issues with lollipop 5.1.1 in my nexus. All Google apps connected to internet only via WiFi and it wouldn't connect through the mobile data connection.
And then there was the battery life problem. So I switched to PA 4.6 beta based on kitkat. I would now like to try Marshmallow.
My question is, will downloading the factory image and flashing it through clockwork mod work? Or should I revert back to 5.1.1 nandroid backup I made earlier and wait for OTA? I can see some post about a feature called verity and the complications it brings to rooted users in 6.0. Does this affect the process of flashing a stock factory image on a rooted phone?
Huawei Nexus 6P :: Xposed Reboot Failed Error?
Feb 19, 2016I'm rooted using Franco kernel.
When I try and reboot through the Xposed Framework I get the following error message everytime:
sush:<stdin>[5]: /data/user/0/
de.robv.android/xposed.installer/cache/busybox-
xposed:not found
Reboot failed: Please use the device's normal reboot function.
I have busbox installed. Not sure what else I'm doing wrong?

May 31, 2014Seen massive battery drain with xposed framework or gravity box latest update? I always make a backup before updating so now i'm back at version 2.5.1 Xposed and 3.1.2 on gravity box. Not having battery problem now.
If i update to 2.6.1 xposed and to 3.1.4 GravityBox I have massive battery drain.
Maybe I'm updating in the wrong way. This is how I do:
1.Download and install latest xposed apk.
2.Framework--> Install/Update
3.Reboot.

Aug 6, 2015A friend gave me his nexus 5 because it have a problem, one day the phone was stuck on boot screen (the flying balls of lollipop) and to add difficulty (can't be easy right?) windows doesn't recognize the phone but it recognize my nexus 5 with the same cable on the same usb port....
I get a "Device Descriptor Request Failed"(the usb port on the nexus seems to be ok) but my nexus get none ... Is it a hardware issue ? I heard that there is issues with nexus 5's motherboard...
I can enter the fastboot and recovery but after a wipe, still stuck..... Not rooted and booloader locked....

Jul 29, 2015I have a Google Nexus 5 (over a yr old and out of warranty).
I was/am facing the dreaded boot loop issue and decided to reset my phone. Now, neither has the original problem stopped and im facing a bigger issue.
The phone now tells me that I have insufficient space for any apps. I don't have a single app downloaded on my phone and am also unable to update the software. The software requires 24MB to update & in my storage, it shows that i have over 400MB of available space.
Not only that, my phone's total space is 12.5GB and the break up in storage is such:
available = 468MB, Apps= 298MB,
Photos=24KB,
Audio=204KB,
Downloads = 8KB,
Cached data=698KB.
I have cleared the cache of all the in built apps as well. I am unable to install ANY apps

I'm not able to install twrp with adb as well as one click recovery installer.bat as mentioned in the article.
I follow the steps and it shows it sent the recovery image and when reboot, it optimizes the apps as well ,however when i go to recovery, i get android dead icons with X.

May 3, 2015My storage is getting low so I decided to delete some old pictures. Saw that it is moving to trash and not clearing the space.
I tried to empty trash using the empty trash option, but none of the pics were deleted. Only when I select specific pics in the trash and delete them, it is deleted for good.

Aug 16, 2015Like the title says I can't write anything new into my rooted N5's system where it says system is out of space or something like that... I can copy files of KB sizes but not MBs... I have V4A libs and SuperSU in the system and now been trying to put in avast antitheft which is not working... This also happened when I tried to install xposed... BTW mine is stock lmy48i rooted with elemental x... Now I had to delete Google books just to install the antitheft!

Dec 8, 2015I wanted to install a custom Rom on my Nexus 5 running Android 6.0 so I downloaded TWRP latest and unlocked the Bootloader and installed TWRP.
Now the OS doesn't bootup anymore and the TWRP starts but gets rebooted all the time.
Tried to install an older TWRP version 2.8.70 and sideloaded and installed Pure Nexus Rom but this doesn't fix the problem.
Wiping anything from TWRP gives error messages...

Apr 6, 2015So I originally tried to update one of my apps that I've been using for awhile when I got the "insufficient space on the device" error message, so then I uninstalled it and tried to download it again and still get the error message.
The app is 20.09MB in size and I currently have 445MB of available space on my Samsung Galaxy S5.
I went through and uninstalled a bunch of apps that I just don't use anymore as well as moved a bunch over to my SD card and yep still getting the message so I don't understand what's going on?
I also tried downloading other apps just to see if it was something within that app or if it's my phone but I get it.

Well whenever it does that I also have to reflash system but now when I try to flash a rom, it gets to the installing system part in twrp and hangs, then reboots at the google logo until I enter recovery again. Aka I cant flash a rom, hangs and reboots at the installing system portion

I tried disabling root entirely and using RootCloak (Xposed) to hide root from Android Pay and Google Wallet, but I still can't use Pay. Wallet still works as it always has.

Nov 26, 2015So recently I started having this problem. My Nexus 5 stopped charging all of a sudden.
After messing around I found out that I could charge the phone when it is turned off, but when I boot it (while connected) it doesn't show the charging icon. Only when looking up the battery status at the setting menu it says charging.
To my surprise fastboot was still working (adb wasnt) what brought me to think it's not the hardware.
So far I have done a factory reset, wiped everything, installed stock kernel and recovery, downgraded to stock 5.0 (I don't even know why, just thought its worth a shot...).
At some point I took the phone apart to try to determine whether I tore out the connector itself, and noticed nothing.
I can live with having to reboot the phone for charging, but I really need it to connect to the computer.

I bought a webcam on amazon for around $20 and they were complete crap, i cant afford anything more right now and i have both these devices with great cameras already. is there a way to connect them through usb to my PC so i can use them as a webcam? I tried ip webcam but my internet suck and when i stream both the video and anything online it lags and i need lag free. I assumed connecting through usb would be better, but i cant find anything good on how to do that. i tried WO Webcam but it connects briefly and then just disconnects.

I have tried this answer without success many times. How do I access and update my music collection from my laptop?? (I have a 2008 Apple MacBook Pro). Is there another way to update my music via internet, or any other method that does not require direct connection?
