Galaxy S6 :: Getting Annoying Popup And Notification
Jul 9, 2015
I have rooted my device and want to stay on stock firmware for a while. I have deleted all knox system files I can see but I'm still getting the annoying popup and notification.
I upgraded my GS2 from Gingerbread to ICS. This was an OTA upgrade. I simply downloaded the upgrade and clicked "go ahead". All went ok, except for one thing. Every few minutes I get a rather annoying little pop up message which reads:
Software update Device update succeeded
I've tried resetting the phone and so on, but it keeps popping up every xx minutes.
Since ive updated to 8.1.1 ive been getting this extremely annoying popup dialog of cellular data is turned off. It give me options to settings or close. It does this even with wifi on. It will constantly popup with every app i open, every time. even turning everything on it continues, what should i do?
I love the Toast notifications on my Icon, which has Windows 8.1 through Verizon. The only problem is that they only display for a few seconds and they usually vanish before I can get to the phone to see what the notification was, and as far as I can tell, there's no way to pull up a list of old notifications. So I'm wondering if there's any way to make these notifications display longer. Right now, they seem to be about five seconds and they're gone. I'd like to extend that to at least ten seconds. And is there any way to pull up a list of old notifications so I can see what I might have missed when I was away from my phone?
A few weeks ago I started to get these annoying virus like pop ups at random times. It's usually when I unlock my phone. It will open to chrome to a Web page that looks like Facebook saying I won a prize. The latest Web page is androidmax.mobi. The Web pages change from time to time but always end with .mobi. I Googled for a fix but can't find anything. It also at other times when I unlock or just random times open the play store to different games. This is extremely annoying. I haven't installed any new apps lately either but to just be safe I've deleted everything I've downloaded in the past couple months and still comes up. I've cleared cache and data on the play store and chrome too. It seems to stop for a few hours but always comes back.
When I unlock my Samsung Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F, Android 5.0, kernel 3.4.0-4854135) a metallic sound can be heard. It's not the ordinary sound that can be disabled/enabled in Sounds and notifications -> Other -> Screen lock sound. I've tried to check and uncheck that option, which adds a "clicking" sound (not a one that I want), so that option seems to be working.
Extremely annoying that the unlocking sound cannot be removed anywhere in the phones Settings. Also, when I'm talking to someone on the phone, sometimes a watery, notification type of sound can be heard, but when looking at the phones display, nothing has happened that one should be notified about.
I use my phone now. The recent apps/multiwindow thing keeps popping up, no matter what I'm doing and even if I quit all my running apps. Despite restarts and complete phone drainage, this problem keeps occuring for the past month or 2.
I use my phone to play games a lot (like several hours a day), have active Line group conversations, use Facebook app frequently w/its Messenger app, and I also use Dodol Launcher for my phone too. I really don't want to go to the factory default method of fixing things, especially since it's a major pain to reinstall all the games that I have installed. However, a quick search through google doesn't seem to show any results about this continuous recent apps popup bug.
Whenever I turn off mobile data, I get a popup saying "Unless you connect to a Wi-Fi network, you will not be able to use the Internet...", is there a way to turn this popup feature off?
I have a screenshot of what I am about to describe. But I do not see anywhere to post a pic. So, both my husband and I have the S6, got them last week. Whenever he gets an email come through there is a little popup that comes from behind his contacts icon on the main screen. This does not happen with my phone (I do not want it to and neither does he). I have compared settings in both phones and it looks to be the same. How to stop it?
1. GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile networks - this lets Google use any of these to find your location even if Wi-Fi or location is turned off. When this is switched on, you'll often find Google Play Services is one of the biggest issues.
2. Wi-Fi and mobile networks - this disables the GPS chip inside your Galaxy S6 Edge and is probably the least useful of the three options. Relying on just mobile networks and Wi-Fi will allow you to find your location quickly but will then use a lot of data and battery as it relies on your Wi-Fi and mobile networks to keep track of your location.
3. GPS only - this is actually the mode I use as it prevents Google scanning in the background (more on that below). It has its pitfalls in that it can take a while to find your location but the battery savings from not having Google scanning are plentiful.
We know that option 1 and 2 could lead to extreme battery drain because Google uses the location manager and wake up the device. When you attempt to turn on either the first or the second option, you're greeted with a prompt from Google to "Improve location accuracy". The option means that anonymous location data can sporadically be sent to Google even when no apps are running, and as a result, this can have a large impact on your battery life, especially when using Google Now or widgets that depend on location. If I choose one of these options I do not see the dialog anymore. Maybe I accidentally clicked "don' t show again".
How can I get the dialog back? When I enable the locations, it is always set to option 1, even if I had 3 the last time.
Since Lollipop update to 5.0 on my S5 Galaxy, whatsapp floating popup keeps showing up when i am using the phone (not unlocked) , no matter if i put on whatsapp config to do not show popup it always appears, it´s kinda annoying since when it is up, u cant hide it, or u click it, or u wait..
Is there any way to get over this? i´ve tried look for some another ways, but no specific way for galaxy S5.
So i did the Lollipop update yesterday on my Galaxy S5 and when i get a text message i no longer get a Preview on the lock screen or a popup once unlocked . I've checked on Messages/settings/Notifications that the Popup Display and Preview message are both checked . Also when i get a message and i push the power button there isn't an envelop symbol top left of the screen just the blue led thats flashes .
I am having a serious problem with my Galaxy S6. The keyboard and any pop up menu for selection are not visible. I can see the keyboard and any selection menu when I rotate the screen then it vanishes very quickly.
I have disabled keyboard, cleared data and cache then restarted but it doesn't seem to work.
I have wiped all the cache partition, done a factory reset, flashed a stock 5.1.1 but the problem still exists.
I am having an issue with my S5 ever since I got it. Multiple times throughout the day, I hear a notification sound (like I have a text message) but there is no notification of any sort what so ever whenever I review my phone.
I did not have the issue on my GS4, and I pretty much have all the same apps installed.
My new E51 phone is always giving me this message: "Correct the access point in your mail for Exchange connection settings".It is really annoying. I tried the restore original factory settings option but, I am still having the same issue. Is there a solution to this problem without loosing the data stored on my phone like the contacts?
im using xperia z3 5.1.1 and ever since that lollipop update who changed the status bar icons ive got that annoying gap between the battery and the signal icons, also all the icons became like KK icons but the battery stayed xperia like.
I already searched the forums, but no thread could help me. Maybe this new one will.Since yesterday, my BB 9700 shows a green LED that is always on. No, it is not the coverage indicator. No, I do not have any apps installed that change LEDs. Yes, I use the newest firmware. Yes, I tried a plug. Yes, I tried an app called LEDreset, but it did not work at all. Last night, I made the battery empty and recharged the device. Green LED was gone, but after I received my first call this day, it was back on as I hung up. It's really annoying. I already wrote my ISP. Maybe they need to repair my BB or something. :/ Does any of you have any further suggestions?
I bought BB bold 9700 a couple of days ago and I notice a problem with the handsfree (stereo headphone) that came in the box.During the calls, even the slightest rub of the microphone and the wire against my cloths is hugely amplified and I hear it all along the call, which is extremely annoying and also this noise seems to overshadow the voice of the caller at the other end.Have any of you 9700 owners noticed this? How can I get this corrected?
I'm making video with this phone and everytime i plug in STM10, that google voice boot up... not only that some times it also boot up while i'm recording.. in result, i have to start over.. this is very annoying. so how do i actually turn it off? i search all over google, they all say, i can trun it off from google setting -> search&now -> voice -> hot word detection... however once i go into voice, there is nothing there that indicate that i can turn this unnessasary setting off.
Is there an app you can get to block numbers? But still be aware that they are text/ringing you? I don't want to have to ring up my phone provider to do this as they may only be a occasional caller. I used to have an app like this on my sony ericcson xperia! Surely apple have one?
I can't get rid of two ''unread txts'' which keep showing up whenever I click on the screen of my Bold 9780 (between the search and the profile option). They actually look like drafts since if I click on them those numbers show up on the destinary field and the phone is giving me the option to write but I assumed they were unread txts because that's where I receive the txts notifications. However I've tried every single options the phone gave me and I also tried to send a text to those numbers but the notifications are still there.I hope someone could understand what I'm saying because I barely do myself (first blackberry)
I have the BB Bold 9650 with Sprint and have the worst service in the world. My son has the Style and also has poor service. Our phones were not receiving calls, texts or anything when we are at home. Sprint sent us an Airwave so that the signal would be improved. The calls and texts have somewhat improved but not completely rectified. More annoying than that is this noice my phone makes not like a beeping noise but like maybe a signal fade noise if that helps any. I have asked Sprint about it and they said it is the network connecting and then dropping. But I cannot be the only person in the world that has the issue. Is there anyway to stop it? I was wondering if I connected by BB to my home wi-fi if that would resolve the problem. Please help, I hate my phone and service. Our phones have been replaced at 3 times this year alone.
I don't mind notifications of new messages, but how can I turn off that annoying send/receive noise when I have the message window open in iMessage, without turning off all notifications?Â
I have always had problems with these "network" emails that transmitt information: network@etp1008.etp.na.blackberry.net This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server. I use desktop redirector to send messages from Outlook to my blackberry. Sometimes I rarely receive these and other times I will have my blackberry and Outlook inbox folder FLOODED with multiple emails of this kind. Sometimes as many as 100 emails overnight. The only way I have found to bypass these messages is to create a folder in Outlook (I named it blackberry emails) and create a rule for all incoming messages from these addresses to filter them into this folder and set the folder to not sync with my blackberry. This is the only way I have found to NOT get flooded with these emails in my inbox and blackberry. Does anybody know of a better solution or rather why these emails are coming? I know they are supposed to dissapear, but they are not.
I wonder if anyone can help me??. over the last like 3hrs My LED has been Flashing Green and making a really annoying noise every 2/3 Mins. Ive turned my network coverage LED off But its still Happening?!?! This is really annoying because its even doing it on silent.
Today my z2 started annoying alerting while putting it on dock charger.I thought its from the charger so i replaced it Also i entered the phone into the safe mode and no changes.
I recorded a video shows what happens when i connect it to charger . This annoying sound dissapears when i remove the charger
