And it wants me to enter my backup password. I don't remember what it is. The phone is not locked. I use different security - pin, pattern, etc. But I cannot access fingerprint section. Is there any way to get passed that or reset the backup password?

Nov 24, 2015Okay so my dad wants to get into the security option in his phone to add a fingerprint, however to do so required the backup password.
Knowing my dad, he had forgotten the password and cannot get in here, the only suggestion we have found is reset your phone which obviously is a bit last resort.
I have found some suggestions I. e. sign in your Google account however that did not work nor did a suggestion which was to go in private mode and from there it will prompt the fingerprint and make that default.
so my question is how do I restart the password?

Jul 21, 2015My friend and I are both experiencing huge background data usage with the Google Backup Transport service that is part of Google Play Services.
My S6 Edge on 5.1.1 has been steadily increasing it's consumption of background data with this service over the last month and it's currently sitting at having used over 1.7GB.
My friend's Galaxy S4 on 5.0.1 is experiencing almost exactly the same data consumption over the exact same period of time. Something is deffo up with this but what it is.
Some old solutions I've read online include disabling background sync etc. but this isn't a solution and doesn't explain what it had been fine up until this month.

I do have insurance and am being sent a new phone, although I was wondering if there was any way that I could retrieve pictures from my broken phone being that there are no memory cards for the edge. upgrade to latest Kies3
install Smart Switch
install Samsung USB driver
change the PC USB port
enable and disable the developers option
enable and disable the USB debugging
all resulted in the PC to be charging the s6 edge battery.

Aug 1, 2015I cannot get my phone out of power mode. It is turned off, but auto brightness goes lowest possible still. No lights on buttons, no haptic feedback, no sounds (hate them, but turn on to see).
It's not hardware as the haptic buttons light and vibrate on boot... Just nothing after boot up. Haven't done anything but let my phone hit 10% battery before charging.

Sep 11, 2015I can't seem unlock my device using fingerprint or backup password. The fingerprint animation isn't playing and doesn't recognise that I am swiping the home button.I have tried entering the backup password and it says I have entered it incorrectly when I am for certain entered it correctly.Changing keyboards doesn't fix this. Restarting the phone and removing the battery and SD card does not fix this.
I have previously registered for the Google Device Manager and have tried locking my phone, but that doesn't seem to work. Do I need to have an Internet connection or GPS on my phone to do that? If so, I can't connect to the internet or activate GPS due to it being locked. Is there any way around this?
I really don't want to factory reset my phone unless it's the only last option I have.And I have contacted Samsung support regarding this and am waiting for a reply. I will update if they have replied to my message.
