Galaxy S6 :: Why Do Some Apps Only Work On Wireless
Sep 23, 2015
I'm in Oz using Telstra 4G. I have some apps which refuse to believe there is an internet connection - they have worked in the past on 4G, but they don't any more, even on full bars. If I use a browser though, I can confirm internet connection. Examples are CommBank, St George Banking, Parkmobile. Facebook is inconsistent - often not loading photos.
I'm new to Android - on Apple you could select which apps do or don't have mobile access. On Android I think the closest thing is to Restrict Background Data which is not applicable here because the app is in the foreground (it's not restricted in any case)
Ive been trying to set up the wireless mobile hotspot to work with my laptop. I can get my laptop to connect to the hotspot and authenticate ok but its status never progresses past 'local only' so I have no access to the internet. I cant see anything wrong with my settings either phone or laptop side, and USB tethering works fine.
how to make this controller work with the Galaxy S6?When plugged in nothing happens. Tried pairing couple of times. Still nothing.Tested the same setup on my GS5 and it connected right away.
WiFi dont work with social media apps i have a samsung s5 worked fine a week ago now mine nor my husband work at home all other computers and tablets work just fine???
iv disabled some apps that i didn't think was important how wrong was I the thing is i cant put my password in now because the keypad wont appear when i tap or touch the screen.
I have every app update and ATT Galaxy s6 update. I ve deleted the app, made a new account, restarted device, cleared cache, cleared data..everything...Ive ready people are having the same issue but there doesn't seen to be a resolution.
I'm an unhappy victim of the great Lollipop Update. Now without warning the Recent Apps button and the Home button just stop responding periodically. Like I'll be in a phone call and want to take a picture or look something up and pressing Home or Recent Apps does nothing. If I restart the phone then they work as expected even when in a call. Eventually though, they just stop working.
I've been reading about others having bad luck with Lollipop. So I thought I'd just go back to 4.4.4 because everything worked then. So far, I've downloaded Kies3 and done a complete backup. I decided to try a factory reset to see if that would make Lollipop behave. Nope. Within 20 minutes the buttons stopped again. It's not always in calls, it's just that I can't restart the phone when in a call to make it work and that is not usable.
So, before I go regrade back to 4.4.4 - why the buttons just quit every so often and maybe how to fix it?
I have a lumia 920 and the wireless charging pad.My phone was able to charge wirelessly yesterday but now it does not work at all.My friend has a lumia 920 as well and he was able to place his phone on my pad and started charging right away.
i have recently bought a motorola flipout about a week ago. it spent about 5 full days going round motorola forums, Internet reviews, internet reviews, and anything else i could get my hands on about the flipout. some reviews says that the flipout is compatible with wireless n routers (i think that's 802.11n?) and some say it doesn't! i want to know this because i want to change my router from a g router to a n router. my motrola flipout runs android 2.1(eclair) and the model of the wireless router is belkin play n600 db. any clarification if the phone is compatible. if it isn't compatible, is there any sort of widget/app/3rd party software i can download to change this?
My iPhone 4GS ( my wife's too) wireless connection won't establish as it has beenĀ doing for over 2 years. No problem getting on the net through on an unprotected network. All of the other devices that use the same home network work fine as usual. The apple store folks suggested the that I try the various resets in the Settings panel, but that didn't make a difference. I searched the forum expecting to see more people with the same issue, but don't.
I'm a big fan of wireless charging and after watching the PocketNow video on installing wireless on your G4 I went right over to Amazon and ordered the NeWisdom wireless sticker. I installed it and it worked perfectly. Monday night, I left my G4 on the charger overnight. In the morning it was fully charged as I expected but oddly enough, when I went to open an app (any app) it would black out the screen then go right back to the home screen.
The phone was still functional but I could not open any app, it would just bounce me back to the home screen. I restarted the phone and that fixed it. I thought nothing about it writing it off as an oddball glitch. Last night I put the phone on the charger again and this morning I had the same exact issue. No app opens, just a black screen and back to the home screen. I'm using a Nokia Qi wireless charging stand which has worked flawlessly up till now with my other phones.
My BB Bold 9700 has the wireless update icon (Black Circle with an arrow through it). Anyways, I click download and it looks for a wireless update for 2 seconds & then says there is no update. Plus, the icon won't go away.
My wireless synchronization with my gmail contacts stopped working. When I change a contact on my BB or in my gmail contacts the 2 don't get synchronized. They used to. I even get an email from BB telling me that it stopped and I should change to Yes in my contacts list under my gmail account, but after checking it is set up to Yes. What changed? what should I do?I have a 9700 from Telus
Have a new 8310. OS is v4.5.0.37 Platform 2.7.0.55I'm in Australia, currently with Telstra but in the process of changing.I have not purchased a data plan for the phone. I have a wireless modem for my desktop & wondering if I can use this to connect my phone to the web without purchasing data?
Do I need a data plan to send emails? Can I use my existing online email acct(yahoo), or do I need to set up a special one for the phone? If so, please explain where/how? If not, what other info do I need to configure the existing one? It seems I need a PIN as well as e-addy & password(& assuming it's the yahoo password?)
Recently I bought a new blackberry torch 9860 and I face a serious problem. All social apps like facebook, viber, watsup, and App world losing wireless connection while device is connected to wireless network and just internet browser is working and has connection. When iIpull out the battery and but it again these apps work for while then losing connection again.
I brought a Samsung wireless charger. The first few days, it worked flawlessly, but today when putting the phone on at 27%, when it hit around 85-90%, it started saying "Wireless charging have stopped" even tho it still charges. It's annoying, cause the screen light up, it vibrates and I get notification about it, but it starts charging right after?
Do you think this is a phone or wireless charger problem? Also, will this hurt my battery in any way? I mean if I leave it overnight, would it hurt the battery that the battery start charging, stopping again and then start again? This is around every sec or so.
I have an S6, KIndle Fire HDX, and Acer Chromebook. All are sitting side-by-side about 3 feet from the wireless connection point (Xfinity). My Chrome book has 5 bars, my Kindle Fire has 5 bars, but the S6 has 2 bars. I can start a download on the S6 and the Kindle Fire at the same time and the Kindle Fire downloads much faster.
Every night I leave my S6 on the wireless charger, in the morning its always around 90% full, and not charging. Does the wireless charging take it up to 100% then stop charging, not even doing a trickle charge?
I charge my phones overnight with the power off. My old phone,an HTC DNA, had to be precisely placed in the same counterintuitive position (up and to the left) for the Nokia DT-900 white charging light to blink and DNA green fully charged light to go off at 100%. The phone would no longer charge and therefore cool down.
Unfortunately, I now wake up with my S6 charging light on as well as the constant white charging light on the DT-900. Need exact alignment that allows for the charger and phone to stop charging at 100% and have the indicator lights work properly?
The S6 doesn't get nearly as hot as the DNA on constant charge. However, I figure it would be a little better if the charger just shut off when done.
I googled this exact phrase (with quotes) and found nothing. I'm getting this error message on my phone. I haven't done a FR since the invasion of Lolliflop...
I just picked up a MiFi 4G device and I carry it at all times. However since it has a cap on data per month I want it to be secondary to several other unlimited WiFi networks such as my office WiFi, home WiFi, free WiFi hotspots, etc. Is there any work around to make the MiFi wireless (or any permanent wireless network) 2nd to all other recognized networks? This is the ideal set-up for my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 WiFi. I don't want to have to turn the MiFi on and off constantly, I want it on in the background as a seamless secondary option. I appreciate any insight and find it odd that you cannot prioritize networks. Meaning if I "forgot this network" and start over will the 1st joined or most recent joined become primary when there are multiple networks available?
The phone won't recognize or charge with the cable. I sent the phone away for repair only to get a response from Bell saying the issue is not covered under warranty and is unrepairable. When I received the phone back I found out it will still charge with the wireless pad I bought. What are my options?
Ping pong... Ping pong. All night! Only way to disable is to turn notification volume to 0 which I cannot do as I am on call via an app. Do not disturb doesn't work either.
Just bought a black Samsung wireless charger. I plugged it in at my office. Its charging but the halo isnt fully lighting up? Just a lil blue light in the front is lit? I have seen pictures of the whole halo lighting up blue when charging and green when fully charged. I can't even tell by the LED lights if its charging since its on my desk and I am looking down at it... only my phone's red lil light on top light lets me know its charging.
