My fingerprint scanner is working fine, which is a good thing because Trusted Places isn't. TP doesn't seem to be tracking or updating my location so I still have to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone while at stored trusted places (Home, Work). The Trusted Device works fine, but location not so much.

Smart Lock for Trusted devices (that is, bluetooth) works fine. however, Trusted places does NOT work EVER.
i can add Trusted places such as Home, my office, etc.... but it does nothing. no matter what, it won't allow me two swipe up to access the phone- it requires my PIN 100% of the time.
Location Mode is High accuracy (GPS and networks).
I've rebooted many times. I've added, removed, and added places... no place ever works for this feature.
Having issues with trusted places now working for smart lock? I have it set as my home as a trusted place, yet it still requires me to unlock it when I'm at home. I've deleted and re added home as a trusted place. Same thing.

Facebook places was working fine on my device, but now it wont show my proper location on the facebook places map when i'm at home....when im out at other places it works fine, but i've never had this problem before as i used to be able to check in where i live...Blackberry maps show the right location but the facebook one dosn't....My facebook is up to date so i know thats not the problem.

I've turned it on it the advanced options and still it sends a message that "your location is temporaryily unavailable' and on BB maps, it just sits trying to find satillites.
Currently the phone has location services on in battery saver mode with location history off. After updating to 6.0.1 or some new version of the phone app I have been unable to search for nearby places in app. The toggles for it have been turned on and off multiple times, turned the phone on and off, played with turning location settings on in different modes with the location history on and off in each scenario. Haven't tried clearing the cache and I don't find it to be a big enough problem to warrant a factory reset.

Back when I had my phone messed up and it looked like a Factory Reset was in order, I thought about erasing all of those to see what effect it would have.
Rather than do that exercise, I am asking what the downside would be?
I have a samsung galaxy s6 running on lollipop 5.1.1. If I enable smart lock and go to configure it, i am only able to adjust the settings on:
-trusted devices
-trusted places
-trusted voice
-bodydetection (maybe a poor translation from my dutchspeaking phone)
Is it possible to use the trusted faces on this device? or does it need an application?
I have noticed the smart lock fails 100 % of the time when using a trust location.
The phone will continually ask you for a fingerprint or pattern to unlock in trusted locations.
This is a important selling point for the device that does not work.
Tried uninstalling google service updates with no luck.
I think I am having GPS problems with the latest BOGG baseband, I intend to try to downgrade to 5.0.2 baseband, I am not sure if this is possible or not. I know that you cannot downgrade from 5.1.1 ROM to 5.0.2 ROM, but not sure about baseband.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using gmail for about 3 years, and I setup gmail to forward emails to my BB 8800, this has all been working fine for 2 years, in the last 3 or 4 weeks emails that I have been sending from my computer at home (using gmail ) have been sent to friends etc, and I also get a copy on my 8800
when somebody replies to my email, I see the message without any problems on my laptop when logged into my gmail account, but now when I look on my 8800, the message displays for 1 second and then disappears, if I press the BB button ( to the left of the trackball ) , and select from the menu "Get Plain Text" , BB displays the dialogue message "Receiving More" and the text comes back surely I should not have to do this when using a gmail account
only emails that I have kicked off using gmail are affected, all other emails that I receive from other people are fine ! NB I have plenty of "Free Space" 31559744 bytes
I have the latest software, I have security wiped the 8800 a number of times, I have removed the battery a number of times, all these things I have been told to do by my carrier "Orange UK" , all to no avail, so I have to resort to the internet, and boards like this

(Uninstalling Fonix won't help because I don't have Fonix! Calling Motorola won't help because it's not a Motorola phone. The phone is an HTC TMobile phone but I get service from AT&T.)One search hit mentioned a registry change. But I have found no way to make registry changes on the phone.

I can sort of understand the face one not working well (although I've tried the "improve face recognition" option many times), but I don't understand why the location method won't work when I'm at home. Does it take a few seconds for the phone to recognize my location?

View 24 Replies View Relatedgalaxy s6 system ui turns on location often. I catch it about once every 2 days while on my phone. I long press the searching for gps and it shows "lollipop system UI". I'm guessing that is what is turning on the gps for a few seconds(~10s) every so often. I was wondering if there is a setting so it doesn't do that, because I think it's unnecessary.

Definitely something to consider when you're toggling that switch because I've noticed some what significant battery lost and it's always scanning on that mode.

Even though the pin is properly positioned on the actual location, the street name and house number are quite a bit off. Did they do this on purpose? The actual street that shows up on the detailed information for the picture is about 2 blocks from my house.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Galaxy S5 since it came out and haven't had any issues with it yet. All of a sudden this evening I noticed that when I got to the lockscreen that the GPS icon appeared in my notification bar. When I dragged down the bar it said "finding location" which was unclearable from the notification list. After unlocking the screen, sometimes the GPS icon will go away, and other times it just stays there.
Why it'd randomly start doing this now and never happened before? Any way I can get it to avoid doing that without turning my GPS off? I'm just concerned about it draining my battery life, but don't want to lose the benefits of GPS staying on.
I have a Galaxy s5 with 5.0. I recently had to do a factory reset. Now when I long press a photo from the net the photos do not show up in my gallery. They can be found in the file manager but not in the gallery. Prior to the factory reset it saved directly to the gallery. Photos taken with the camera appear in the gallery but they are the only ones that are displayed in the gallery. What am I missing?
