I'm probably old fashioned, but there are stuff I just prefer doing from my PC, rather than from my mobile.I read that Samsung Kies no longer works with the S6 (Replaced by Smart Switch), but i'm wondering if there's a 3rd party software that lets me control my S6 from a Desktop PC ? The feature i'm basically looking for is Sending SMS to multiple contacts/numbers.

When I go into messages and click the green circle in bottom right hand corner and the next screen is where you enter recipients and your message, i start by typing the 1st person i wish to add and his name comes up and i add him to the recipient list thats all fine but i cant find a button or anything to add another contact?? the only way is to delete the number of the recipient that pops up under his name and start over again! i have never come across this in any phone in the last 5 years and even this phone before the update?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have contact list with records for a lot of people (300+), each with several phone numbers each, home, mobile & work, etc, .I can't seem to find a way to have the iPhone announce the name & number or name & type (home,mobile,work) of the caller from the contact list, my old cell phone could do that easily.
At the moment what I've been doing as a work around for a few (important) people is to create a custom ringtone for that caller & that phone number. Since it also seems there's no way to attach a different ringtones to each number in a single contact record I've had to create multiple contact records for each person, each with a different name/number combination such as "John Doe Work", "John Doe Home" or John Doe Mobile" then assign to it the custom ringtone I created for that name/number.
I need to this so that if I receive a call while I'm driving (or whatever) that I can't answer right then for some reason (often happens), the ringtone I created for that name & number helpfully lets me know who & where their calling from. It's very important to know where someone is calling from, if someone's calling from home then I know I've got some time, but if their calling from work then I need to get back to them quickly.
having to make multiple contacts & ringtones for a every person with multiple numbers is a extraordinary waste of time. My old cell phone could do this with no problem but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this with my new iphone.

I have many contacts which have numbers saved under the same label.For example a contact like this:
First name: AMobile: 11Mobile: 22Telephone: 33Telephone: 44
When I open Ovi Suite / Contacts / Contacts in E51 and open the abovementioned contact "A" it shows:
AMobile: 11Telephone: 44Mobile (other): 22As you see it deleted one of "Telephone" labeled numbers. It also happened when I used PC suite.
It is really annoying as if I save/sync the contact using Ovi, it causes loss of contacts data.BTW there is no problem using Backup/Restore function of Ovi/PC suite, nor "Copy to memory card" function of the phone itself.

I have the E90 communicator hooked up to pc with pc suite and ovi.I have almost 2000 contacts and most of them have multiple numbers saved under the same name.These numbers have often the same type (mobile or telephone for example)When exporting these contacts using PC suite i'm loosing some numbers from contacts which have several numbers with the same type.
Further more i've the problem that the exported vCard can only store 6 number (3 private mobile, telephone and fax and 3 business) in its property, while i'm having contacts with over 10 numbers.Is it possible to export a contact having 10 numbers without losing one of them?
I've synchronized Contacts from my PC and all appears OK except for when I select a particular contact with multiple phone numbers... I only see the first one? How would I dial someone at one of the "secondary" numbers? Curve 9330 w/OS v6.

When I go to phone -> 1-9 keyboard and use it for the letters (2=a,b,c; 3=d,e,f, etc.), I can easily find the number I need. The problem is that for most of my contacts, when I click them, a second window pops up, asking me exactly which number for this contact I'd like to dial. Now.... I don't have a second number for any of my contacts.
When I go and check them in the contacts menu, they only show one mobile number per contact. When the window thingy pops up, it always shows multiple options of the same exact number, or maybe the same number with some spacings added / removed between the digits. I am 99% sure that the problem is because of google contacts, viber, whatsapp, etc., but do not know how to fix it without removing the contact from the app.
I've been wandering why I've been getting charged for sending MMS messages until now, when I was just about to send a text to two friends and it was going to convert it to MMS. I'm using Google messenger to send texts. Can message to multiple recipients send by SMS?

However, I am still having one annoyance and that is with sending multiple pictures to others via text. On ios it was a matter of just choosing which photos I wanted to send and then pressing the send button. It did not matter if it was one photo or 15 photos. However, with my S5 I only can send 2 maybe 3 pictures at a time before I have to back in my gallery and load more.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a non-rooted, Galaxy S5 on AT&T which forwards any phone number not in my contacts to voicemail after one short ring sound. I have Android lollipop version 5.0 but this problems has been happening for months even under Kit Kat version 4.4.4 and 4.4.2.
I checked call rejection, interruptions, blocking, and cannot find the root cause or remediation. I am also using tasker but I cannot find anything enabled there either. AT&T insists they are not doing anything on their end.
Is there any way of getting the actual phone numbers to show when in the "Contacts" screen instead of just the contacts name. If I want to look for a phone number, it means that I have got to click on each contact name to bring up the next screen with the phone number etc on it and then click back to the contacts screen and keep doing it all through the list of contacts.
With my old HTC Desire it used to show both right at the start.
When I sync my Outlook (2010) contacts through Kies (v2.3.0.12035_16), my SGS2 ends up with multiple entries for almost all of my contacts; some might have three, some two, some even four entries for the one person.Each entry has different information. Some of theseduplicate / triplicate contacts have old information. All of them (except the original for each contact on my phone) are missing the contact picture.ome of the contacts that are synce'd to my phone no longer exist in my Outlook. Eg. When I receive a text from one particular contact in my phone book, the number displayed is a combination of 4 different numbers, all of which belong to different contacts in my phone book. When I reply the text is sent to the first number of the four which is not the contact who sent me the text! None of these four contacts are connected, nor are they adjacent in my contacts list! For example, if I had a contact for Jack & Jill, I would have a mobile number for Jill and a mobile number for Jack. In the Contacts I also custom label each mobile number as Jill's mobile and Jack's mobile.When I receive a text message from either of these phone numbers, in Messages I just see that the text is from Jack & Jill. I can't see if it is from Jack's mobile or Jill's mobile.Is there any way to see in Messages exactly which mobile is sending me the text? I have a contact with two phones - for instance, John and Jane Doe. I want to text them each separately, and easily see who I'm texting. But in the Messages history, it displays "John and Jane Doe". And it's a hassle to click on the message, then "Contact", then "i" to see which is colored blue.Â
I've even added custom identifiers to each phone number in gmail contacts. Instead of "Mobile" or "Work" I used their names, "John" and "Jane". I'd like to see those custom identifiers in the Messages app.
is there's a way to check the numbers i have been sending imessage too? for example if i send a normal sms it will show up on my bill but what about imessage?

On my Motorola Electrify...I am currently synced with my company MS Cloud email using corporate sync. There seems to be an issue with the phone sending out duplicate replies to the same recipient when I reply to their email from the phone. Looking back in the "Sent" folder on my phone I see 4 or 5 copies of the same reply.
