Galaxy S6 :: Message To Multiple Recipients Sending As MMS
Sep 11, 2015
I've been wandering why I've been getting charged for sending MMS messages until now, when I was just about to send a text to two friends and it was going to convert it to MMS. I'm using Google messenger to send texts. Can message to multiple recipients send by SMS?
I noticed that when I get messages (usually MMS with pictures) from my someone who sent the message to multiple recipients, if I touch the icon at the top of the message thread, next to "Multiple Recipients", with the four greyed out heads (where the normal contact picture is), I'm able to see who else the message was sent to. This includes people and phone numbers that I do not have in my contacts list. I'm concerned about this, because if I were to be the one sending a message to multiple recipients, I could see a situation where I would send it to multiple people but not want to disclose everyone's phone number to everyone else. Isn't this a privacy concern or violation? There should be a way to turn this off on the sending end.
How can I select and send messages to multiple people from my contact list. That is to say how to select multiple recipients. I have to select one by one which is quite tedious.
I have just got an HTC One and have synced my contact list. It all seemed to work fine except for when I send an SMS to one of my friends it automatically links another friend into the thread. So the message thread will say "Name1 Surname1;Name2 Surname2" but I have only sent the message to one person. What is going on here, I have deleted both contacts and re-entered them manually but it is still doing it.
I can see and mark all contacts on my contact list while in "To" when creating a new text message. However the "Ok" button is missing on the left lower corner of the screen while "Back", on the right, is active. I can type in recipients, though this is tedious when I need to select multiple recipients. Further probing brought up another problem - I can see all my contacts on my phone but cannot find the contact folder nor can I backup my contacts.
Not had my SII long but i'm impressed so far with my first smartphone. Still find somethings abit complex compared to my old nokias but hope to get my head round it eventually. Now and then I need to send the same tx message to about 50 of my contacts.I've created a group for these 50 contacts called " workmates"I want to send the same tx message to all 50 in one go but I get stopped when I reach 10 and the phone tells me i can't send to more than 10 in one go. So I end up rewriting the tx message 5 more times and have to send it in groups of 10 recipients in my "workmates" group. Is there a way of sending it to all 50 in one go and save the tediousness of rewriting the tx message. I can't even work out a way of "copying and pasting" the original tx message to save time that way.
I sent a text message to 10 people, but want to see who I sent it to. How do I get to see all the names?I can press and hold on the message to bring up a window that shows some of the names, but not all. I can press on the message to go into the message and that, again, only shows some of the names.even on landscape it wont show all.Under options there is nothing to show who you sent the message to.Under view message details, nothing again. (Press and hold on message to bring up option)
I've got a Curve 9360, running 7.1 with T-Mobile service. Whenever I receive a text message that's been sent to multiple recipients, I can't see anyone else on the recipient list, so unless I can figure it out from the message, I have no idea it's been sent to more than just me.
No problems originating and sending a text to multiple people, though, it's just when I receive texts. Additionally, if I respond to a multiple-recipient text, I'm pretty sure it's only going to the sender. Very frustrating, especially since with my old Curve 8320, I had no problems knowing when I was on a mass text, and could reply to all if I wanted. No such luck here.
My brother (Stuart), his wife (Sheila) and I all have iPhones. Often when I send Stuart an iMessage, Sheila will recieve it and visa versa. If I look at the thread, I have messages from Stuart and Sheila under the same thread, but all under the contact 'Stuart'. I have checked that I don't have their numbers grouped or doubled up, they are both saved individually.
I have just updated my s5 to the latest android version 5.0.2 ... When I go into messages and click the green circle in bottom right hand corner and the next screen is where you enter recipients and your message, i start by typing the 1st person i wish to add and his name comes up and i add him to the recipient list thats all fine but i cant find a button or anything to add another contact?? the only way is to delete the number of the recipient that pops up under his name and start over again! i have never come across this in any phone in the last 5 years and even this phone before the update?
I switched over from the iPhone 4s at the beginning of May and I am really enjoying the S5. However, I am still having one annoyance and that is with sending multiple pictures to others via text. On ios it was a matter of just choosing which photos I wanted to send and then pressing the send button. It did not matter if it was one photo or 15 photos. However, with my S5 I only can send 2 maybe 3 pictures at a time before I have to back in my gallery and load more.
I'm probably old fashioned, but there are stuff I just prefer doing from my PC, rather than from my mobile.I read that Samsung Kies no longer works with the S6 (Replaced by Smart Switch), but i'm wondering if there's a 3rd party software that lets me control my S6 from a Desktop PC ? The feature i'm basically looking for is Sending SMS to multiple contacts/numbers.
I have been unable to figure this out... I want to send a single sms message to two recipients (my kids) via the hangouts app. one of my kids is an apple fan and they don't use hangouts or google plus.
I have tried selecting and unselecting the MMS to group messaging box in the settings and it seems to have no effect. I can't figure out how to select two contacts for sms.
Nexus 5 running 5.1 on hangouts version 3.0.87531466 and am using google voice on AT&T.
Since yesterday, my Outlook account on my iPhone is automatically cc'ing me on all emails that I respond to, when there are multiple recipients - I have already gone into settings and confirmed that my "BCC me" is off and that the correct email address is listed as my account. I have also tried a hard re-set on the phone.
I was surprised to see that when an SMS is sent to multiple reciepients we dont recieve Delivery Reports. It becomes difficult to check if the message was successfully delivered to them or not....Nokia please try to Implement Delivery Reports for Multiple Recipient SMS and also try to Give Delivery Report with the Name of the contact instead of the Number in the Repor
my biggest complaint about Gingerbread reared it's ugly head this past weekend. The lack of "+" symbol in the "to" field of the stock text messaging app.
I wanted to text all of the people in my contacts list who are fathers, to wish them a happy father's day. Unfortunately, to address a text message to multiple recipients, I must remember every one of them, and type in their "letter" individually. I have to type in a letter, then pick one contact, then type in another letter, then pick another contact, then type in another, then pick...I'm sure you can see where this is going. And of course, once I thought I had gotten everybody and pressed "send", I then went into my contacts list and realized that I had forgotten several people, and had to do it all over again. Something that should have taken less than a minute instead took several minutes, and I'm sure I still likely forgot someone!!!
Just who's brilliant idea was it to remove the "+" symbol (that would open up the entire contact list for easy multiple picks) and replace it with the stupid "suggestion" arrow! They should be fired and shot...not necessarily in that order!
I upgraded the operating system on my 3gs to the new 5.1. When I imessage my friend Amy it also sends that message to my friend Joe and then their response is also shared.
I've noticed a couple issues when sending a text message to multiple people. On my old curve, I could hit the menu button, click "add TO", choose a contact, and thats it, simple. But on my Bold, I have to click, "Show recipients", and add another recipient. Now, the problem arises when i want to send it to only one more person. I choose the person and it has the next option for recipient open, which is blank cause im not choosing anyone else. I hit "ok", and it does nothing. I hit "ok" again and when i send the message, its sent duplicate messages, meaning each person gets the message twice. Same thing happens when forwarding. Id choose the person i want to forward the message to, but when I hit "ok" it doesnt do anything, so i have to hit it again and it adds the one contact twice. Anybody know how to fix this issue? Or is this just a common glitch that hasnt been fixed yet?
I have been unchecking the "group message" box on my Samsung S6 when I send out a picture...however it seems to go out as a group message still. And when I go back to the text it rechecks the group message box.
