I am not sure, but I think that before rooting and unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos and installing a new firmware, with the power saving mode turned on,I could check for a weather information update without turning the location service manually on.
I suppose that the weather information service turned on the location service only for checking for weather information update automatically and then turned it off automatically again. And when I have pressed the weather update refresh button, it updated the weather information very fast. I would also like to add that the weather information, has been updating with no difference if the phone has been connected to a wi-fi network or 3G.
Is there a way I can get back that way of updating the weather information? That was only with the power saving mode turned on!
I have an s6 and the factory installed 4x1 clock/weather app no longer works. The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. It was working fine up until about a week ago. I've tried restarting my phone and removing/re-positioning the widget, but no luck. It can't be uninstalled as it came with OS.
how often or when the out-of-the-box weather widget updates on the Atrix 2? Can't seem to find it anywhere in the settings, or any information on it...
My son played with my phone and added a daily google reminder which has totally ruined the google calendar I've been keeping. This reminder was created to repeat daily "forever." X_X
Is there a way for me to delete the daily reminder he created? I could manually mark them all as "done" but they still remain on my calendar. I could also disable reminders from showing up on my Google Calendar entirely, but I actually use the feature a great deal.
My company has recently switched from iPhone to the S5. I received over 200 emails per day so my email is set up with an inbox and several folders. All of the folders are set to push mail from our server. After selecting all of the folders to push email it will work for about a day. When I wake in the morning only email in my inbox is showing. All of the emails in the folders are no longer showing and the settings are all changed to manual. It seems like the email settings are resetting themselves nightly. I have tried deleting and re-adding the account and turning off power save.
The weather app on my home screen doesn't always display the weather - it often says there is no data available. However, when I access the app and manually refresh the weather is displayed and remains when I return to the home screen. Is this an issue without Android 2.2 or is the handset at fault? The same app works perfectly on my Hero running on android 2.1
I downloaded a 3rd party weather app, removed the default Samsung weather widget from my home page, and added the 3rd party widget to my home page. As it turns out, the 3rd party app was buggy, so I removed it. I want to re-add the default S6 Edge weather widget to my home screen, but I can't find it.
I'm using Nova on ATT BTW. It seems that the widgets visible using Nova are slightly different from the widgets available using Touchwiz. How to re-add the default S6 edge weather widget?
Samsung Galaxy S5 is my first Android phone. In the process to customize my phone, I accidentally made the weather information in home screen disappear, now it show only the time (even the background picture gone). I try to remove weather widget and add it back but it does not works. I really need to turn it back because only this will give me updated weather in lock screen.
When I went to Europe a month ago, my blackberry was updating automatically and I didn't know about it, which made my bill go way up. So now I want to know how to turn this off so that next time I go over seas I wont have to pay for roaming.
I am writing this as I am the bill payer for my daughters Blackberry! She is going abroad soon and I understand that sometimes people have run up large data bills when abroad because their smartphone apdates aps without prompting. I just need to know, in case this might happen with my daughters phone (blackberry bold 9780) how do I prevent automatic updates of software on her phone while she is abroad?
Is there a ways to disable automatic application updates? If I uninstall updates from certain applications, I can get my phone's available space up to the limit that will allow me to actually USE my phone. But lately, lots of application updates are being pushed out, and many of these are on apps that I can't delete but don't use. These updates take up so much space that I continually get the Low on space message, and then I can't get emails, etc.--which is my primary purpose for having this phone.
Isn't there a way for me to turn off automatic updates so that apps only update upon my initiation?
When I went to Europe a month ago, my blackberry was updating automatically and I didn't know about it, when it was time to pay my bill I noticed it was unexpectedly high. So now I want to know how to turn this off so that next time I go over seas I wont have to pay for roaming.
since quite some time I get a wrong GPS signal in my weather app, Google Maps and Nokia Here its sometimes like 20km(like 15 miles?) off my current position. I deactivated Wlan and mobile network and let GPS on.
I disabled the stock weather widget a few weeks ago and today i decided to enable it again but i have a feeling I am missing something because although its enabled again, its not working! I cant get it to display on the lock screen nor as a widget on the home screen! I have a feeling i disabled summit else that needs to be enabled again for it to work??
Ever since my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S6 system was updated to version G920VVRU1AOE2 two or three days ago, I receive a notification at 6:20 am with the day's weather prediction, and the notification uses sound + vibrate. I can find no way to turn off the sound and the vibration of this notification. Android version is still 5.0.2. How to mute this event?
For some reason, I cannot get the weather to show up on the edge screen along with the time and date.
What I've tried: * Going to Settings > Edge Screen > Information Stream (switched to on) > Weather (with Edge screen switched to "On") * Going to the Weather Widget > More > Settings > Edge Screen set to on and Use Current Location set to on as well.
The odd thing is that I did see the weather show up on the edge screen just once before, but how to get it back again.
Is there a way to add the little weather widget/icon that you see on the galaxy phones on lock screen mode? (its and icon of clouds, sun, etc with temperature). I believe I had this option as some point and somehow deleted or was removed with last update. Galaxy S5 running latest 5.1 software..
How the weather widget on the lock screen of the S5 works? This morning, I found that it remained completely non-current, still displaying the night's forecast at the end of the morning. It wasn't in line with either the accurateweather or the google now widget forecasts, so I guess that's not where the lock screen widget info comes from.
So I restarted my phone, and now the information isn't there anymore, even after a few hours. So how is this controlled?
I have lost functionality of the native app that came with my Galaxy S5. Have tried thr GO and Weather Channel apps and theu both failed. Lollipop sucks, no doubt, but the must be a weather app that works with it on the S5.
After the upgrade to Lollipop, the weather on the lockscreen is gone. Have tried turning it on and off and many reboots, but can't get it to come back. Seems more people are having trouble with NOT being able to get rid of it.
I'm completely new to android devices. On my wife's Samsung Galaxy S5, it seems like the weather degrees on the lock screen does not update. Is there something possibly not turned on in the settings of this phone?
