View 2 RepliesJust recently made the android switch for the first time so I'm pretty new to some things that may be obvious to others. I recently found out that I can only receive emails and cannot send outgoing emails through my icloud account.
Now I have read that my security type could also be set to SSL (accept all certificates), TLS, and TLS (accept all certificates). These are my only options. My port number is apparently supposed to be 587, however my device tells me it "cannot safely connect to server". how I can change my port number ?
When I delete mail on macbook pro, it's not deleted on iphone. If I delete on iphone it's not deleted on Macbook pro. If I go to www.icloud, it will be deleted on macbook pro, but not iphone. I have service agreement with macbook but not iphone, so I can't talk to apple people without a charge.

In the last few days my iPhone has stopped syncing with iCloud mail. I do get new mail, but mail that I've deleted on my Mac or iPad does not get deleted from the Inbox on my iPhone.Â
Messages that I have read and deleted on my Mac or iPad still show up in the iPhone Inbox and are flagged as "unread". The only way to get rid of them is to delete them, one-by-one.Â
Here's what I've tried:Â Reset the iPhoneDisable and then re-enable iCloud MailVerified that the iCloud Mail settings on the iPhone are identical with the settings on my iPad.Â
Oddly, messages that have been deleted from the Inbox on my Mac or iPad show up in both the Trash mailbox and the Inbox on my iPhone. Yes, they show up twice; once as being read and sent to the Trash and once as being unread and still in the Inbox.
I changed my iCloud password, I'm able to receive mails in my computer but not in my iPhone, Also my iPhone shuts down from time to time even if the battery is almost full. When I reopen it, it changes the hour. If there something I can do alone or do I need to take the iPhone to a technichian?

I keep getting a message requesting that I enter my iCloud password at random times, sometimes happens with yahoo mail, too.

My iCloud email pushes mail to my iPhone and my iMac. But, when I delete an email from my iMac, my badge does not update on the Mail icon on my iPhone, unless I acually open mail on the iPhone. The iPhone acts like the Push function only works for receiving emails and not for deleting them from the iMac.Â
I have deleted my iCloud account on my iPhone and then reinstalled it, and that did not fix it. What can I do to fix the Push issue that I am having?Â
PSÂ I am using the latest Mail and Mavericks on my iMac and the latest iOS on my iPhone.
Info:
iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), 16 gigs of Ram - 3 gig Fusion Drive
Just upgraded to the 4S. I set it up by "restoring" to the last backup on the Cloud, but for some reason, in the "Settings" panel, the iCloud option is grayed out. This is also the case for all of my individual email addresses under "Mail, Contacts,..." I called support and they just made me reset my password - twice - which hasn't done anything but annoy me.

I use the Gmail app my mail client, but I want to switch to the default mail client (the one that comes out of the box).
I setup the default mail client to handle my email, but how to I now disable the Gmail app so I do not receive double notifications?
If it matters I use google as my primary email account.

View 7 Replies View RelatedHow to set the settings. On my S4, all I had to do was touch the little circular "Sync" icon. I have no such icon on my S6, so must wait for the next scheduled sync, I set it to 15 minutes. It does have a setting to set it to "Manual Sync" only, but I can't find a button or icon to do a manual sync.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been using Gmail as the default email on my phone for ages. Today, for some reason, it didn't allow outgoing mail. It said "sending failed", then I got a message saying Gmail stopped activity from this unrecognized device and unsafe app. I followed the url it gave, and selected the option to say that was my device, but it still wouldn't allow it. I went on to Google to see if I could find a solution. I read that I should change my password, so I did. Then I tried to change my phone email setting to have the new password, but it won't let me, saying "authentication failed".
I have scanned my device and uninstalled apps I had recently downloaded, but could this be due to some sort of malware? I have been getting tons of bad popups when I was on fb lately (Congratulations! Your profile has been selected...), as well as fb errors so I'm wondering if this is related?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the factory email app on my S5. It reflects that I have 2 new emails, never showing more or less, regardless of reality. This phone is 7 months old, and its my first issue. I have my own domain, and I am using an IMAP account. My gmail and yahoo email work fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Galaxy S5 email is set up and I am getting emails OK through my yahoo account but when those emails have picture attachments, they won't open (view) or download. I get error messages that say "Sorry and error occurred. Please try again. if the error persists there may be a problem with the file you're try to access." I've tested this by sending pics to both my phone and CC'ing my mail on my PC and the files are not corrupt as I can open them on my PC. I attempted .jpeg, .png, ,gif and .bit and none will open or save.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've only had my SGSII a week or so but have been very unimpressed with the battery life I've been achieving - not even a full working day.I've been trying to work out what's going on, but this morning things really seemed to come to a head. I'd charge overnight but within an hour and a half of disconnecting the phone almost half the charge had gone & the back of it felt very warm to touch.
Looking at the battery stats and using the Watchdog program it looks like the Samsung Email app is to blame. I also saw the phone was marked as 'awake' much of the time, presumably due to a partial wakelock from the Mail app (battery history in Gingerbread doesn't seem to actually have partial wakelock as a category but this certainly looks like it). I've got three accounts setup in it - 2x Microsoft Exchange and 1x IMAP. Refresh times were initially push (MSEx 1)/manual (MSEx 2)/15 min (IMAP). I've tried changing them all to 15 min or to manual but it doesn't seem to improve matters. In case it is of relevance, the MSEx ones are imposing device & storage encryption as part of their policies (I've no choice in this).
I am very happy with the galaxy s2 but I can't seem to be able to see all my yahoo mail folders. is this a known issue? someone said you need to install "Yahoo! Mail for Android" but then I have two apps for yahoo mail, how do I disable/uninstall the seeded app so I can correctly identify "unread" mails which is not possible when the seeded app is still running.
