I just recently made the transition from a Lumia 1020 Windows 8.1 phone to an S6. I have a 2010 Ford Focus with the Ford Sync system.
On my 1020, when connected to Bluetooth, I was able to have my texts read to me over my speakers and reply via hands free. I cannot for the life of me however get the S6 to replicate this behavior.
I can get the car to recognize texts, but they come across the text messaging system, which requires manipulation of the stereo, and response isn't entirely hands free.
I've tried using multiple suggestions, but haven't found anything that works. Is exist Android to work out of the box like my 1020 and my wife's iPhone 6+
I can get Bluetooth audio, but no hands free. I drive 60+ miles on a work commute. I've tried 3rd party apps, but they were slowing down my system and draining battery life horribly.
I would like to have my bluetooth headset read my texts with the ability to reply. Is there an app available or something built in the turbo that will allow me to do this? I currently have a Plantronics explorer 505.
I'm not getting my text messages. Well, I get them, but very, very late if at all. I sent well wishes to people that night and received a barrage of responses about 8-12 hours later. Even when I text myself nothing happens. I've tried reflashing, playing with every setting I could and nothing.
The only way I can force them to me in is by dialing voicemail and texting myself while the call is active. THEN it works. I get my text immediately and whatever's been waiting in queue.
So I have this increasingly annoying issue with the emojis on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S6). I am able to use and see them in every app except messaging. I send emojis in a text, I can see them and so can the person receiving them. However, when they send emojis to me, I cannot see them, it just comes up as '??'. I have changed the input mode and tried all 3 modes (GSM alphabet, unicode and automatic) but none of them work. My Android version is 5.1.1 ....
I have a GalaxyS5 running on 4.4.2 (the latest from my carrier) I've never been able to see emoji in texts. It didn't bother me until recently when it seems everyone has gotten on the emoji bandwagon.
I can send emoji and I can see them and everyone else can see them just fine but when they send them its just jibberish on my end.
I've tried a bunch of different apps with plugins and no dice. I've also scanned the phone through AVG and there's no virus.
So I picked up my S5 Friday, upgraded from iPhone 4S. I traded in my iPhone for the phone, and reset my iPhone to factory settings before doing so. I love my new phone, but I can't get any texts from iPhone users. iPhone users get my texts, but I don't get any from them. I know this probably has to do with their phones still trying to send my number iMessages instead of texts. I don't have the box or anything from my iPhone to get the serial number from it.
When I send a text it appears in the original conversation but when I get a response it's in an entirely new conversation with only their responses.....so it looks like I am talking to myself and so are they. It appears that the response number is altered and I am unable to respond in that conversation. It appears as area code 1(1562) instead of the proper 1(562). So somehow, somewhere an extra 1 is being added. I checked my contact info, and the number is listed as (562) so the phone itself is doing it (S5) could this be because of the recent software update? How do I fix it so i can have normal texting back?
I just bought a unlocked root samsung and for some reason.....i text a co worker at 5 pm...and when I receive a reply 5 mins later.....it shows the text as being received at , 1 pm.....it doesnt show the text after mine but before it......
I got a text this morning from someone I only keep in my contact list so I will never accidentally answer if they call. I then went to contacts and added them to my reject list.
Later I added a coworker to the reject list and had them call and text me. The call did not ring and a notification appeared that a call from that number was rejected. It didn't even give the name even though the number was in my contact list.
When the coworker texted me it came through perfectly. Not blocked or rejected in any way.
On my old thunderbolt I could flat out block people. I wouldn't get any indication whatsoever if they tried to call or text me. Is there any way I can do something like this with my S5?
I have recently upgraded my phone to a Galaxy SII from a Samsung GT-S3350.Is there any way I can transfer my text messages (Inbox and Sentbox) from the GT-S3350 to the Galaxy SII
I have used the Samsung Kies program to transfer my Contacts, Music and Pictures, but there doesn't seem to be any option within the program to transfer text messages.
I have a new Samsung Galaxy S6, running 5.1.1. For a week, incoming and outgoing text messages have been registering correctly in the call log. As of today, texts are no longer registering in the call log (but they appear in the message log) and no previous texts are listed. I have spent quite a bit of time looking online for an answer - no luck.
I am trying to find out if you can select a "group" from contacts to send a text to in Google Messenger. Do you need to select contact one by one in order to send a group message? I have a Galaxy S6.
Yesterday i updated my s6 to lolipop 5.1.1 and ever since then i cannot send text messages i can recieve them but i cannot send texts i am with rogers...
Text using laptop? I've been using an native mac app called "Verizon Messages+" to text my contacts through my computer however I'm looking for a bit of an upgrade. I ran by an app called "AirDroid" which looks pretty neat but kind of feature bloated at the same time.
I'd prefer to use a native app as opposed to going to a website and/or using a chrome plugin. This was probably one of my favorite features about iMessage, I was able to seamlessly message contacts through a clean and intuitive interface on my computer.
Yesterday I updated to 5.1.1. I use handcent and now when I get a text message it shows the normal icon as it is coming through, but then it just goes to a star icon. If I pull down the menu, it shows the normal icon. After doing some research I found something that says it is interruption mode, but my phone does not have anything in settings or by pressing the volume button doesn't give those options either. How to remove the star icon? I have different icons set up for different people and I would like to be able to look at the notification bar to see who it is from without having to swipe down.
So, I've had this phone for almost 3 months now. I'm barely able to text one of the few people that I talk to. Most of the time, they do not receive my texts until a week later, sometimes longer. I used to have the galaxy s5 with sprint and this happened with them too. I now have t-mobile and i have talked to them several times about this. After a lot of persistence, they put in a trouble ticket for me and that corrected it for about a week, then it started up again. Now they closed it and are telling me that it could be sprint's fault. I don't know what could be. I know that at one point I was accidentally blocked by the person, but it seemed to start after I ported my number over to a new carrier. I just want an end to this. I'm tired of contacting t-mobile every week.
I currently do the majority of my texting from Google Hangouts on my computer. However on my phone, the only Android app that will actively sync these text messages (and receive new ones) is the hangouts android app. I'm trying to switch to another app while still being able to text from hangouts from my computer. Is this possible?
I send a text to someone and they reply saying they're confused as to what I'm talking about... The text is exactly how I've wrote it on my device but when they send me back what they've received its half of the correct text and half of an old one?
When u recueve a texy from someone, it puts their usual number, ex. 777-777-7777, and then adds a +11 to it, ex. +11777-777-777 It comes up as an unknown contact, and I cannot reply to that number. I tried restarting my phone, adding a 1 to the contact number, adsing BOTH versions of the number to a contact and setting the default one as the correct number, and even a different texting app. I have an AT&T galaxy s5. No root, just stock.
For example when I receive texts that are larger than normal, it shows 1/5, 2/5, 3/5, 4/5, and 5/5 sometimes more sometimes less. It's aggravating cause when you should be receiving one message, you receive several texts. And they are usually out of order so you gotta go back and forth. I am on U.S. Cellular and have a galaxy s5. My friend has a s4 on U.S. Cellular also and hers doesn't do this. I think it did this for me also on the s4 and now on the s5. Maybe I'm just missing a setting?
I started using Hangouts again for SMS on my Verizon S5 and quickly remembered why I had stopped in the first place. I cannot seem to turn off the Hangouts app vibrations for new texts. See, I use Light Flow for all my notifications, and I have it set up to vibrate twice when I get a new text message. Light Flow is working fine, but the problem is that there is always a third, longer vibration immediately before the Light Flow ones. I assume it's coming from the Hangouts app itself but I've poured through every setting, turned off vibrate everywhere I've seen it, and yet the single, long vibrate persists. I've even gone through all the main phone settings to no avail. I'm also relatively certain that Light Flow isn't the issue; when I disable that app, I still get the single, long vibration from Hangouts.
Looking for people that have a stock s5 with the latest uk update 5.0.2. how do you (step by step as im thick) send texts to multiple contacts in your contact list?
I have had the phone for about 3 months now but recently every time i get a text or a call it says 'incoming call from garry etc' or incoming message from xxxxx and it's doing my head in!
