View 8 Replies View RelatedOn the Galaxy S5, whenever you long-press the Home button, it brings up what appears to be a Google search page or something. Apparently I’m really bad at pressing buttons quickly (either that or the button is malfunctioning) because I keep accidentally bringing up this damn Google search page instead of the home screen.
Is there any possible way to disable the long-press or even just change what it does??? I’ve searched through the phone’s settings and all over the internet and haven’t found anything useful yet.
So I have been using dolphin browser for about a year and a half now and to save photos on the browser all I had to do was long hold on it and it would save automatically. Now I have to go to the website in order to get to the photo and then save it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI install an app on the playstore for remote control of kodi on my htpc computer , after uninstalling it , noticed when I long press and hold my home button It no longer opens up voice search, it opens google now cards page I then have to click on the mic button at the top to perform a voice search.
Is there a way to reset this ? , I uninstalled updates on google app cleared data ect , now when I press and hold my home button I only get these 2 options.
If I select "google" it opens google now page (same way as above)
Looking for a way tog et pack the long press home button and you can instantly start talking to the google voice .

I am having trouble to restart my iphone 4, I have tried to Press and hold the sleep/wake button and the home button for more than one minute, but it is not doing anything. It is at full battery because I just finished charging it. I have called my phone from home phone, it is not responding on iphone but I can hear ringing from home phone and it went into voicemail after a while. My iphone is frozen. It is frozen during updating to the new software but disconnected from computer by accident. Right now it is not doing anything it is just a black screen.

1) Cannot seem to update/install Apps - It just sits there acting like it is updating, the status bar scrolls, but nothing gets updated (or installed). As an example, I tried updating Facebook through the Google Play Store - My Apps option, sat for 10 minutes, and it never updated (but it still says I need an update). This is true for a large number of Apps that I have. I tried to install Helium so I could back up before a factory reset, and the same thing happened. It never installed.
2) Network vs. Wifi - At home, I use my Wifi connection, and I noticed that both the Wifi signal indicator and the Network Signal indicator display. I know this did not occur on the S4 (with Android. 4.4.4). Is this normal behavior for Lollipop to display both Wifi and Network connectivity?
3) Can't find a microphone for Speech-to-Text messaging on either the LG or Google keyboards. I saw one article that shows it is in the predictive text field area, but it isn't appearing on mine. - Actually - I just resolved this - it is hidden under the settings icon on the LG keyboard. I had to long press the icon for it to display.
4) No Silent Mode from the Long Press of the Power Button.
such app or utility that replicates the long press of menu button over n8 handset.That is to launch the running apps window or what some ppl call it multitasking window.I have been finding the long press idea a very incovenient ,so looking for an answer from the community as my knowledge is not even a drop in the ocean of information.

When i press and hold the screen to record a voicemessage or a video in for instansce whatsapp or snapchat or facebook messenger - then it often "cuts off" after a few seconds. Very annoying. I often have to try and record the same message many many times before it finally works. Is the screen really so sensitive and unstable?

I'm loving everything about the i4 but I simply can't get the phone to hold a signal long enough to talk while holding it because of either the hardware or software issues. I was just trying to call my wife to tell her there was a huge storm coming and she couldn't hear me after a few seconds when the bars started dropping.

However, it seems that Droid thinks I hold the buttons to long and launches the search browser anytime I hold a key down for longer than a nano second (which I guess happens a lot when I type). View 2 Replies View RelatedMy recently bought Xoom is randomly performing interruptions of the long press. While interruptions are going on, it doesn't prevent me from pressing, but it stops any long press just as if I had moved out the finger, with wicked effects:
- Any slow scroll gets interrupted;
- Selection with long press gets cut into a regular tap;
- Use of secondary characters on keyboard (via long press) becomes impossible;
- Swype turns into a regular keyboard, since the drag line gets constantly cut.
It's like the press had a variable timeout that comes really low, to a second or milliseconds. That happens frequently (but not always) right after boot/unlock. After that random period (from seconds to about a minute), everything works fine. It's not a lag or delay, it is an interruption, like a timeout.
