My s5 won't keep a default internet browser. I keep having to pick between chrome, internet, and dolphin. Especially in Google Search. It's annoying that I have to set a browser everytime.

View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery time i change chrome to default browser it does not stick. If i click on a link in email, google+, or twitter i still get prompted to use chrome or internet.
I've searched and searched everyone says same thing but nothing works.
I've checked "always open with" chrome and does not work.
I've went under all apps and tried to clear default for internet but it is grayed out and i can not click it.
Under default applications it does not show browsers so i can't modify there.
Under application manager I've also reset application preferences and this did not let me change the default browser either.
I've downloaded an app called "default app manager" and it allows me to change the browser default but it does not "stick". as soon as i click a link i'm still prompted with an option for browser.
When I'm Twitter, and I click on a link, the "Orange browser" opens up so I can view whatever I clicked on. Is there any way that I can use firefox as the default browser? I've looked almost everywhere in the phone menus to alter things but can't find anything.

For instance, I'll change the default search engine to Bing. That tab will use Bing for searches. If I open a new tab or close and reopen the app, it will use Google for searches again.

If I just exit the app by pressing the Home button it means that the next time I tap the Internet button it takes me immediately to the last page I was viewing. i am trying to play cityville on the samsung galaxy sii using the stock internet browser. i can open facebook without any problems but when i click on the cityville link, the loading bar at the top just keeps refreshing every time it gets to the end and the page doesn't ever seem to load. there are android cityville apps but you can't use them to play the actual game, just check and collect bonuses.

I want Chrome to be my default, and when I click on most links it is, but when I search something from the google search widget, whether I use my voice or type, if I click a link it opens in the default LG internet browser.
I went to apps and defaults, then cleared 'Internet' from being the default and when I tried another search I was asked which I wanted as default and selected Chrome.

When i click a link or open web browser, it opens for a few seconds then shuts down. Other browsers like skyfire work fine and other apps open fine. It seems as if the phone just ignores this setting. If I go to internet from the Media menu (upright corner) etc. I still get the Nokia browser.
