Galaxy S5 :: Why Videos Recorded Onto SD Card Only Playing Sound On PC
May 17, 2015
So I just got a new SD card for my Galaxy S5. SanDisk 32GB micro. It's set up on my phone to save my pictures and videos I take to the card. It works great so far, shot lots of pictures and video over the weekend and they view and play back flawlessly on my phone.
When I got home however I uploaded the files to my computer, but the videos only play sound. The videos file type still shows mp4. The pictures are fine.
When I view previously recorded videos on my PC from my phone from BEFORE I got the SD card, they view normally with full audio/visual playback.
I'm using Windows Media Player.
Ergo it's obviously something with the new card. Codec perhaps?
Didn't notice that every video I record after my last update , can only record audio and video the first minute or less and then for some reason playback stops but you can still listen to audio. This has happened to all my recorded videos.
Read somewhere on the internet that you have to delete DATA and clear CACHE on the Camera app, have not recorded any video since then, but will try to see if this works.
The videos recorded by the cell phone doesn't run properly when transfered to the PC. I get black image and no sound, but the progression bar of the player shows that the video is running. It's not an issue in the codecs in my computer since I run any video file in it with no problems, including MP4 which is the same video file used by the phonI already installed all the updates available for it.
I only noticed this issue when sending a video to a friend last week. I thought it was just an error with that specific recording but I just recorded another one and there is no sound whatsoever. Instead it's all just very loud static noise. I've only had this phone since around early December.
When I record or download a video. It won't play, I use the stock video player on the s5. I have to keep pressing play to get it to play and to get 1 second into a video I have to tap play about 8 or 9 times therefor cannot watch the video.
I sent a video from my htc wildfire to my computer. the video plays fine but with no sound at all the only way i can play it with sound is on quicktime, it wont play sound on any other program. i really want to put this video onto facebook but when i send it directly from the phone to facebook their is still no sound. does anybody know of how i can upload the video with the sound?
When I first got the phone it was on gingerbread 2.3.3 - now ive updated the firmware to 2.3.5 I can no longer play videos on the BBC website...[URL]When I click on play the red 'loading' circle goes round and round and round...nothing loads.I have flash 11 installed, tried resetting the browser to default.
I have had m S6 for nearly 2 months now and any videos I watch be it on the Internet or videos I have recorded go into slow motion with the sound going at normal speed.
Mini Pro Owner, never rooted, never used cooked roms! Everything original. After updating to latest kernel my phone reset the 99% of times when I play a video filmed by the camera!
i have a bb storm unlocked from vodafone now on t-mobile, and when i record videos from my phone i cannot view them and error message appears saying 'the medai being played is of an unsupported format'
My HTC One recorded several videos but cannot play them. On my camera roll in gallery, you see the videos but they appear grey and have the play symbol in the center. The other videos in gallery you can see a picture from the video with the play symbol in the center while you are in gallery. I tried emailing the video, and posting the video to google+ but all that is sent is the picture of a play symbol with a line through it.
When I clicked on 'details' for the not working videos what came up is; 'file path' 'Date' 'size' 'type' and 'status' only for 'type' was there no information, it is just blank underneath.
So it does not seem to recognize the video as video/mp4.
We've been taking photos and videos with our Iphone that works great. We don't own a Mac computer yet, just a PC. We wanted to burn the videos to a DVD we can play and watch on a TV? Do I need to get QuickTime Pro to do this? I searched on the web for third party products and can't really find a straight answer on any of them.
Whenever I play music through my phone, with or without headphones, there is a sporadic noise that sounds similar to a record skipping, but more distorted. It is not the two tone beep others have posted about, nor is it the usual problem with headphones. The sound occurs in multiple audio apps. The default music player worked fine up until about a week ago (maybe two?), then the noise started. At first, a secondary app worked fine, but today that started making the noise as well. Force quitting the default app worked for a while, stopping the noise when I started the app back up, but now it goes back to the noise almost immediately. What this noise is or how to stop it permanently?
I've had my bb for about 10 months, at first everything was fine and i recorded videos and had them saved on my media card, about a month ago i recorded a video and then couldn't find it but when i connected my device to pc it showed uo, and yesterday i recorded several videos at my friend's wed and didn't find them even after connecting it to my pc, i tried recording again and after pausing i noticed the amount of memory taken shows 0 kb!!! it shocked me.
Issues with the recorded video not being saved? Seems like a bug / glitch somewhere that's preventing the video from being saved. The recording phase looks fine, but afterwards, the video cannot be found anywhere.
This is done using the Nokia Camera (4.5.1.7) with the latest firmware ( 3051.40000.1345.1006) and dev OS version (8.0.1521.155). A restart seems to fix the problem for a period of time, but it's not really a good work around / solution,
IPhone 4 video recording. I recorded about 10 short video. Is there any way to combine them into just one video? I might want to post on facebook, but don't want to post 10 separate videos.
My brother just got hold of a C6-00 that previously belong to his wife. The phone has been working fine and have all updates installed. It's not modified in any way and only uses official upgrades. But, after the latest update (SW 40.2.021, custom version 40.2.021.259.01 - 06-06-2011 - Brazil), something went wrong. This update was installed OTA on November 1st and since then, two strange problems started to happen:
1. When using the camera in video mode, the "Exit" and "Options" touch commands disappear from the screen. But, when using photo mode, those appear and I can change all camera settings. Right now, in video mode, the phone is locked to "Widescreen High Quality".
2. Inside the gallery, when we try to play recorded videos, we are always greeted with the following message: "Unable to play either sound or video clip. Trying to play partially." This happens with every video recorded by this very phone, in all quality settings (3GP, MP4 Wide and MP4 4:3).
I have a BB curve 8520 and recently recorded a video on it but as I was recording it my battery died. Now when I look on the video folder I can find the video there but with this extension 3gp.lock and another one with the same name but with 3gp.lock3
if it is possible to unlock those videos and how to do it?
My Daughter has and iPhone 3gs and when she sends me videos she has recorded with her phone I can't open them. I have tried a number of different video player apps (moto x, rockstar, mobo) (I think those are the rightnames) and none of tehm will play it. Does anyone know what I can do to be able to watch those videos?
i have a sony ericsson aino. when i record with my phone, usually the videos are paused when playing. the sound is fluid, but the video, is paused in moments. here a example: http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=tnnify6kjte
My iPhone has recorded a video with no sound, I have fixed the problem and can now record with sound but the video with no sound is sentimental, is there any way of restoring the sound? It's a .mov file?
I was going to try a faster class 10 SD first. I think class 6 should be the minimum for HD movies.
The quality and sound is superb, but it's just slightly out of sync. The video is about 14 minutes in length and is 1.10GB in size. On playback on the phone, it sometimes stutters (like the music stutter) and drops frames, but watch it from a computer with the file still on the SD card, and it plays flawlessly. I know the Tegra 2 is capable of 1080p encoding/decoding, so it should have no issues with 720p. What did Motorola do to this thing?
i am thinking about taking either my phone or my dslr on a trip to make steady & moving shots on a monopod. I'd prefer to only take my lumia with me but I wouldnt mind to go with the dslr if the quality was much better. That's why I want to know how those two devices compare in terms of overall video quality. The sound will be recorded using an external mic.
I record video using the camcorder app. I playback video and the audio has a high pitched whine / whistle or sound layered over the background audio. Sometimes the whine gets louder and sometimes lower but its aways there. Its very annoying sounding and seems like either feedback or interference or something. Anyone else experiencing this?I've tried various resolutions and zooming in and out, and lowering the volume all the way prior to entering the app (because you can't get any feedback on volume adjustment once in the app) and nothing i've tried seems to get rid of the sound. I have also tried the 3 "audio scenes" "Everyday" setting seems to be the worst, outdoors the best.
I picked up my new S6 from the Sprint store yesterday. I almost have all of my parameters set, outside of my pics & music from my S4 Mini . The guy at the Sprint store supported me with the contacts, and also put all of my music/video/pics onto the 32G Micro SD that I installed in the phone about 18 months ago.
I have the Micro Card, the Micro SD adapter to regular USB for my PC. I've made separate folders on my PC from the card---Video-Music-Pics, but there's some stuff I'm not familiar with that shows up as well.
My question is, what mode does my new S6 need to be in when I transfer this stuff to the phone?
I will say that some of the music (I have a LOT) wasn't set up very well in my S4 Mini and thats my fault for being in a hurry, but it did what I wanted it to do. I have the S6 plugged into my PC via charging cord/USB, and the Micro SD is in another USB port on the PC---
i have a problem with video playing. i put some video from my pc via nokia pc suite and convert it to my n97. iit`s playing only few seconds and then the video stops but sound is still playing. i tried put the video without converting in mp4 formate but it`s the same. if i try to play some downloaded video from ovi or some carptured video it plays with no problems. i`ve already tried to reinstall my frimeware but it didn`t solve the problem...video : http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=ebhub4qetys
I'm having an odd problem that started about a month ago - all the videos I record on the tour have no audio. I checked the options and there isn't a "mute" setting - I've changed the audio profile and that doesn't help.I can't figure out why it's recording the video with no sound. The voice recorder works fine so its not the microphone.
