Galaxy S5 :: Volume Control For Ringtone And Notifications?
May 14, 2014
Is there an easy way to adjust these at the same time? It's annoying to have to go into the settings to change the notification volume when I change the ringer volume. My S3 changed both with the volume button.
Why is Windows Phone having version 7.5 if it still can't set different volumes for music and notifications... When I listen to radio the volume setting of 1 is often loud enough, if I then put it in my pocket I mis all calls as it is not loud enough. If I set it back at level 25 I get woken up at night for incoming mails... BTW, why can't I even define (off-)peak synchronisation intervals for my mails?
I'm looking for a way to control my S6's mic's volume/gain input level, for weeks now, and I have found nothing.
The reason why I'm looking for a way is so that when I'm recording some video in a louder environment the sound gets blown out, cause the phone just can't handle the gain control automatically, so I'd like to lower it manually to have nice sounding recordings.
My old S2 had the same volume controls - up-and-down rocker on the left side - as my new S6.
On the S2 the rocker raised or lowered the volume on any noise coming out of the phone - music, ringtone, speakerphone, whatever.
It seems the s6 defaults to controlling ringtone volume only. After reading up on it here, I downloaded Rocker Locker to make it default to media instead.
I just discovered by waking my sweetie up that "Media" doesn't include, say, ringtones as you're assigning them to contacts. I started editing the contact, chose the ringtone I wanted, and it started blaring. Volume control had no effect.
What I truly want is for the volume control to do what the S2 one did: control the volume on any noise of any kind at all spewing out of the phone.
My previous phone (HTC One) was able to control applications like Spotify with the volume buttons on the side of the phone even when the phone was locked. I can't for the life of me figure out a way to convince this device to do anything other than volume control with the volume rocker. I'd just like to use the volume control with short clicks, but if I do a long press it doesn't something else (this may have been a feature of Cyanogen that I was using previously?).
I'd like to use a Long hold on up and down to Next Track / Previous Track for Spotify. Right now if I do this, instead it just blows out my ear drums by maxing the volume quickly. Are there apps that allow me to customize what the volume rocker does in specific states?
Also, does this phone not intelligently recognize the difference between headphones being plugged in vs plugging it into an Auxillary jack? That was something else that worked well on my One as well.
Any app compatible with the s6 that will allow me to long press the up and down vol buttons to skip to next track/prev track, especially when the screen is off?
Is there any way to disable the ringer volume control on the side of the S2. I've found myself sometimes (not knowingly) switching the volume control to silent and then not hearing a call coming in.
I have a Galaxy S5, don't get me wrong I like it apart from, when I receive an email notification from my Outlook App (because exchange wont work on this phone at all but did on my Galaxy S4), it plays my ringtone for my phone.
I have been in every imaginable setting going, and my notification alerts are set to beep, which it works for messenger, but any emails that come into my Outlook App and a notifcation pops up on my main screen it rings! I then think its an incoming call and it isnt, it will only stop when a screen swipe and clear.
On the Galaxy S2 even though the ringtone volume is set to max, initially it starts off quietly and gradually increases in volume. Is there any way of changing this to ring at a constant level instead of starting quietly and gradually getting louder - the number of calls I've missed because of it.
I've had my S5 for a year now. I noticed ever since the 5.0 upgrade that i got in April for my ATT S5 that I have been missing calls and texts due to my phone going into silent in my pocket because the dreaded volume keys are able to press themselves in my pocket even with the screen locked and off. I don't see an option to stop this behavior and to me it seems like an OBVIOUS place for there to be an option.
What can I do to stop this? Even worse sometimes it will click up to a high ringtone volume and go off when I am in a meeting at work.
I find the call volume very low even in a quiet environment. If outside, I find it very difficult to hear what my clients have said. One fact business people love blackberry is because it has got good call and ringtone volume.N900's ringtone volume is good, but the call volume is just too low. (I have already used the side button to max the call volume, the strange thing is, 50% and 100% make very little difference...)
ive left my phone at work, and i was just wondering if i could turn off the notifications via the internet, so that my twitter messages dont come up on my home screen for people to see?
how to increase the volume on the Nokia X1-00? The buttons on the side of the phone are not changing the volume, and when I talk to people it is very low
I have a Pioneer AVIC-Z1 Navigation DVD in my car and the bluetooth with my new iPhone 4 does not allow the volume to be adjusted, like I could do with the 3G iPhone.
So, the caller's voice is really loud and the echo is very bad. On the 3G I could use the volume buttons on the iPhone to turn down the caller's voice which made the echo mostly go away. Now, the volume buttons do nothing.
Anyone having problems with their jawbone or other headsets? I was thinking I may have to switch to one of those instead...?
I went into setting and changes the hearing volume to 100% but I still can't hear very well. I don't have hearing problems or anything; all of my friends have said the same thing after they used my phone for a call. How do you make the volume bigger when calling someone?
Every time I play my music and hit the volume controls on the right side of my blackberry torch, it just changes the song, instead of lowering or upping the volume.
Did I mess with a setting or something? When I press the volume buttons nothing happens. When I use them during a call I can raise voice volume but I cant raise any volume atbany other time?
all of a sudden I cant hear music or video audio on my iphone 4s - the slider bar for the volume control has disappeared and the +- buttons on the side dont work. Ive tried a basic reset and also backup and restore of software thru an itunes sync but it hasnt solved it
I have multiple subscribed calendars that I normally turn off in the Calendar app. But as best as I can tell, showing calendars in the Notification Center is all or nothing. I will see upcoming events on all the calendars which tends to leave the calendars I want to see in Notifications lost in the noise of too much information. Is there a way to control which celendars' upcoming events show up in Notifications and which do not?
I think the title says it all. Is there a way to adjust the volume for the alarm tone, because as it seems its set to a very loud setting and this is something that is inconvenient for me.
I've been using my Bold 9650 in the holster while I work out in the gym and I've been listening to Pandora. I've noticed that the volume controls on the right side of the device will not work while the device is in the holster. If I take it out of the holster, the volume buttons work fine. Is there any way to enable these buttons while the holster is being used? I would have thought that they would automatically work by default.
