if I try to play Pandora internet radio on my Samsung s5 smart phone my wifi has to be turned off, so I have to play it using my data, can I set my phone to play Pandora while connected to wifi?

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently, we have changed our intertnet providers. Before hand we had AT&T, and when I was connected to wifi via phone it would work perfectly. Now though we have Cox for internet service. My phone is connected to the wifi, but more than half the time does it ever work. In small gaps am I able to connect to the internet with itOther times it's like I might as well not even be on. Any possible reasons?he wifi works fine for other devices in the house. Example as in my laptop. It connects just fine and am always able to access the internet.f my problem is confusing what is happening is that I am connected to the wifi and it shows I am. The wifi status icon is up and shows I have a connection. When I try to access a webpage or app that requires the internet, it will not load at all and sometimes say I do not have any internet access. So while it's "connected" I am unable to access anything and it's as if I'm not even using wifi.
Other details:We have a Motorola Cable Modem: Model SB121A Netgear Dual Broadband Router: Model WNDR3400-100NAS N600And for an extra secruity setting, we have selected the option not to broadcast the wifi so that the only way to connect to it is to know the SSID and connect manually.
Everytime I try to play or scan the fm radio, i get a message saying unable to use fm radio when offline profile is active. I have been playing around with the phone quite a bit as it's my first smartphone. So I could have disabled something. I have tried it with wi/fi and 3g enabled.
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my phone to my cars Bluetooth it automatically starts playing music from Samsungs Music app. The issue is I have Google All Access so none of my music is in that app. Is there a way to have Google Music play by default when connected instead of Samsungs Music app? I checked to see if Samsungs app was set as a default but it wasn't and I can't find any auto play options, I also can't just disable the music app. Oddly enough sometimes it will open Google music and other times it will open Samsung Music even if the last time I was in the car I used Google Music.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can no longer download the "additional data" most games force you to download to play them. You buy the game, that downloads the initial data to download the rest of the game etc...I get that far and then I got to the app and it asks "The game needs to download an additional (insert amount here) of data. Would you like to do that now?" I press yes and it starts downloading. Each game gets to about 7 percent, then it say "There was an error would you like to restart the download?" It keeps doing that over and over again, there is nothing I can do to get around it. Note that I've downloaded a few games now without issues, a few of the new games I just purchased are from the same developer. However getting tired of it i decided maybe its just the wifi and now i'm doing it through 3G...so far its gotten half way, but being 3G its slower and I don't want to be forced to use this everytime i buy a game...I have about 4 new games i can't download the data too through wifi and can't return because the time frame is up....

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy first smartphone is a Galaxy S5 and I use ATT as my provider.I have had the phone since it came out and for the first few months I was using low data. ATT called me and recommend I downgrade my data plan. I followed their advice and downgraded. Anyway, about three months ago my data usage that counts on my bill went through the roof. I haven't changed anything that I am aware.
I called ATT and they told me that Data usage counting on my bill will always take precedent over WIFI when I am connected to WIFI (like in my house). As an example if I watch a movie or listen to the radio with my smartphone at my house with my WIFI connected, then my data usage used for these services will count on my bill.
Do I automatically have to disable my mobile data everytime I connect to a WIFI in order NOT to be charged? I assumed that WIFI took precedent and that as long as WIFI was connected then the data used wouldn't count on my bill. If this is true, then is there anyway to have my phone automatically disconnect when I am connected to WiFi?
Not sure what I've done, but I can no longer download apps through Play Store over mobile data. Wifi works fine.
My mobile data is as everything else works.
I can access Play Store and browse through the apps, but when I go to download it, it just says "Downloading..." and stays there.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".
I've tried multiple wifi connections and my s6 will connect to them but when connected nothing that requires data loads at all and as soon as I'm off wifi my phone will load everything using mobile data. I've only had the phone a few days and have used almost 3 gigs of data!

When I enable Mobile Hotspot or share the connection through USB, the other devices connect just fine, but no data is received at all.
* Tested with both a laptop and another phone
* To rule out carrier restrictions, I put the SIM in a Nexus4 and enabled Wifi tethering, then connected to it with the S5, works np, just not the other way around.
I have recently changed from an iPhone to the new HTC one. So far the HTC is great, I love it, but today I plugged it into the usb in my car and I can't play my music through the radio. I had no problems with my iPhone, it was just plug and play, I suspect the car is the issue...

The only things i can fault it on are a rather flaky operating system which tends to crash a bit too often and a very fragile screen cover, but for the most part i can live with these issues.I'm currently due for an upgrade on my contract and would like something that does much the same as the N86 does, but the sticking point is the FM Transmitter function (referred to as "Play by Radio" on some handsets) which i use a lot. Neither Nokia nor any third party seems to produce a list of current handsets which has this functionality built in, perhaps because its use is restricted in some territories and thus varies.
