I've changed the voice on my S5 under Settings > Language and input > Text-to-speech options, but despite that, the navigation voice remains unchanged. It doesn't matter if I use the Samsung engine or the Google engine, I still get the original nav voice. Can this actually be changed?
When I get into the car, I sometimes plug the S5 into my car stereo's aux input via a 3.5mm audio cable. I can play anything just fine(streaming music or MP3/FLAC/WAV files stored on the phone). When I'm listening to the car stereo itself(CD, FM/AM, etc), I usually leave the phone plugged in. If I want to use Google Maps voice navigation, I'll have to physically disconnect the 3.5m audio cable if I want to hear the voice navigation on my phone. (again, this is when I'm only playing a CD on the car stereo)Is there a way to get around this so that I don't have to plug/unplug in the aux input cable all the time?
I am searching for a free apps - voice guided navigation using gps in Samsung galaxy s2. bought samsung galaxy s2 recently.y friend, a die hard fan of Apple's products showed me his I Phone4 with a newly downloaded apps (Sygic- a voice guided navigation system).FYI, Apple's IPhone / IPad is able to download the Voice guided GPS navigation Apps (Sygic) and use it for free. Users can also update the maps from time to time. *After apple users 'jail-break' their devices, they are able to download many apps for free, including Sygic*ut for Samsung GS2 / Tab users, they are only able to download Sygic and use it for trial periods of 7 days.Subsequently, they have to pay $$.Now I am facing this problem, the apps keep asking me to key in the activation code which I will be getting the code after paying them.
So, i am searching everywhere for the similar apps (free apps), but couldn't get.The preloaded apps in my SGS2 when i bought are Google Maps, Navigate (a blue triangle icon). "Navigate" is good and accurate, but the only thing is there is no turn-by-turn (tbt)voice guidance. I prefer to have a tbt voice guidance as I don't have to look at my phone and I can concentrate more on the road / traffic while i am driving.
I have downloaded the "Own Voice" guidance for navigation but seem to have lost my setting it up. how to set up my own voice? By that I mean, to record my own voice? All I can do as of now is choose "Own Voice" in the Settings -> Walk/Drive -> Voice Guidance. But where to RECORD my own voice?
I have Version 3.03 with map version 0.1.23.112 and I'm going crazy trying to figure out why it doesn't speak when I'm navigating. As in it doesn't say when to make a left or right. When I had the phone (brand new) it has nokia maps and then I updated it thru my phone and gave me Ovi Maps.
Even if I have to have the phone attached to prove I own a Nokia phone, can this be done in any way?I do not have GPS for my phone (3720, so for that reason and for ease of use on a laptop keyboard vs phone keyboard, So I was just wondering.
I live in Brazil and recently bought a Nokia 5800 Xpress Music. I've installed the Ovi Maps 2.0 and download, through the nokia program the maps for Brazil and Brazilian Portuguese voice. During the "Drive"/"Walk" options in Ovi Maps, there is no voice. I don't know what to do. I've checked the updates on the phone software and map software through the computer and it says as the last version.
iv finaly managed to dwnload maps on my 5800,on start up the voice gives one command then says buy liscence, how do i overcome this?its says my liscence expired and when i upadte it gives me the price.
The "No Voice Guidance under Bluetooth" problem seems to be well documented on this board as well as elsewhere on the web,In-Car bluetooth connections that work fine for phonecalls will not relay voice directions from Maps, and the phone itself stays mute. In effect, no voice directions are heard at all.The reason seems clear as well: The bluetooth standard allows for several different kinds of sound-streams for priority purposes etc. Most In-Car bluetooth devices however (including several NOKIA-ones), accept only actual phonecalls. Hence, all oher sound is muted while connected to the car.The rather obvious solution would be to have a setup-item in Ovi-Maps that forces all sound from the program to use the phones integrated speakers instead of an operative Bluetooth connection. (Use Bluetooth connection for Voice directions On/Off).
NO NOKIA STAFF have responded to aknowledge the problem or comment on it's possible solution or workaround. (And I have not found any third party app that adresses the issue.)One might speculate that the reason would be the design of the operating system, choosing to handle all sound in a similar way, which undoubtedly is a good thing ... in most cases, but in this case dissalows usage of the free navigation in the one situation it is of the highest value - IN THE CAR.NOW - as FREE NAVIGATION becomes a major selling point and the aplication can't work in a modern car while maintaining legal phone connectivity, NOKIA needs to accept this reality, and make Ovi-maps useable for these users as well even if that means defying a design principle. For reference, I use version 3.03 10wk01 b05 of Ovi-maps on my NOKIA N97 mini with a factory fitted Alfa Romeo "Blue&Me" bluetooth kit, developed by Microsoft Automotive.
Nokia is misleading and cheating customers proclaiming that the C7 is compatible with BH 217 for voice guidance and navigation. I spent a huge amount of money and it does not work.
I have just purchased the new N900 phone. First impression is it looks very good and works well, BUT still lacking the key features of the N96 such as:
Ovi Maps does not provide voice navigation. Java is not supported so such brilliant apps such as the Opera browsers can not be installed onto it. PC suite is not yet available it the phone. So at first glance it is a great phone that could match the IPhone, but more work needs to be done to it to make it the all singing and dancing phone that Nokia needs it to be. If i am wrong on these points could someone point me in the right direction of addressing them
I own a Nokia E71 and I am very excited about Nokia Maps. I am not a good computer user but somehow managed to land into this forum. I have downloaded Nokia Maps on my Nokia - E71 and its awesome but the voice navigation is not working. When I tried to download Voices using "Map Loader" it shows no entry. I have attached the screenshot of "Map Loader" for your reference.
I have an N85 and got the latest Ovi Maps for my phone. On the ovi website it is advertising free voice guided navigation for life, but my application keeps asking me to purchase a license.I am confused , do I have the wrong version? What do I need to do to take advantage of the free navigation as advertised?
Why the guider voice in ovi map doesn't transmit by FM Transmitter? that's ridiculousWe need the voice transmission ...I have Nokia N8 and I updated to Anna and then Belle
The advertising / presentation video for 3.03 shows a dude giving voice commands / direction to his phone, which starts to navigate to the correct address without a finger touched the phone. How will I do this on N97, is it possible?
Whenever I try to use voice input for navigation I receive the message "unfortunatelky maps has stopped. This only started after the Jelly Bean update. I have done an FDR and cache wipe. I have disabled and reenabled maps. Nothing helps. After several days with Jelly Bean I am becoming more and more convinced that ICS was a better OS. I am tired of every time we get an update that something breaks or is removed and yet more and more bloat is forced upon us.
The voice navigation and re-routing only work on occasion. When i miss a turn, which is often because the turn by turn voice is silent, it just tells me i am off route.
Still no sign of anything from Nokia, and they are stopping Sygic's contribution from being available too. List of Compatible Devices Coming Soon The problem is that when you go to OVI Store (as mentioned on the above link, the App can't be found in there). after updating Ovi Maps to final version 3.06 10wk50 with new maps 0.2.42.122 the German voice guidance with street names is broken. The voice announces i.e. to turn right in one kilometer and again to turn right now, but the announcement to turn right in about 300 meters including the street name or the highway number and direction is missing completely. Sometimes the command to turn now is also left out. I tried using the German female voice without street names as well as the UK English voice with street names - both work well without any problems.I already reinstalled Ovi Maps via Ovi Store, deleted the qf file and the cities folder on the mass memory and re-downloaded the map and voice files, I resetted the phone via *#7370# and reinstalled the actual firmware (013.016) via Ovi Suite without success.
When I have BT activated on the N6P along with Google Maps Nav, the sound output (voice directions) is either:a. When phone is set to BT stream music = sound command is partially cutoff at the beginning - orb. If the radio is on = No sound output is heard at allGoogle Nav is set to output sound via BT under its settings.
This also happened on my OnePlus One. I thought I had read somewhere that this happen because of the BT format that Android sends to the car's audio system is incompatible.
How to activate voice navigation in Z3. Looks like there is no such option provided in Z3. Its really troubling with such high end smartphone, need to use touch everytime to ope music/sms/alarm clock dismiss/navigating apps.
On Utube, there is a video shows option under settings to Enable Voice feature under Swipe unlock security , which is not available in my phone.
I downloaded and installed maps of Australia and the surfer dude voice using map loader. However my maps application did not detect any drive navigation voice. When I browsed the voices folder however it was there.i had to download another voice thru the maps application (sadly no surfer dud) in order to get voice navigation. Is there any reason for this? I am using a 5800 with v31 and im using maps v3.04. Although with both v3.03 and 3.04 the same problem was there.
I have a C5-00 5MP and I downloaded maps for walking ("with street names"). But Ovi Maps seems unable to get aware of it : the menu allowing to select the walking guidance voice in settings remains empty. The voices for driving guidance are displayed OK though.
