Eseries / Communicators :: Get Slow When Listing 2000+ Messages?
Jul 10, 2011
Im planning to upgrade my phone from C6-00, i need better performance becau C6-00 has *damn it* slow processor. Is E6-00 is snappy? or it also get slow when listing 2000+ messages?
Dear nokia, I've heard about some bugs that existed in current E6, when it will get fixed? If you have no intention to fix it ASAP then E6 would be a big NO for me.
i own an E72 with the newest firmware. But from the beginning it is very slow if i want to write an email or sms.if i do not watch the screen sometimes i finished the word or even the sentence but the phone is printing the second or third letter.
It takes rather long to delete a number of words using the keyboard because the key repeat rate is set up to be rather slow (approx. 5 characters per second).
Is there a setting somewhere where I can increase the speed? I would like to set the key repeat rate to double speed.
I have a brand new E7 configured with my corporate Exchange 2003 server account and my private gmail. E7 runs the most current SW P1.1 014.002.263.03.Mail/calendar/contacts sync works but opening a received mail with any attachment listed (even how tiny, like 1kb jpeg) on the mail application takes ages. If I click on a message on the mail list it can take upto 30 seconds before the screen shows the message. During the time the phone freezes, even the hardware buttons are not responding. The symptom is the same on Exchange and Gmail accounts. Messages not having any attachments open in about 4 secs. I have tried to delete the accounts etc. but no joy.The mails are received as push, I have tried also scheduled receiving, offline mode etc. but the speed is the same. Is anyone else seeing this and is there anything to be done? The speed of the mail application is so poor that it prevents me to use the E7 as the business phone.
Even if I select "high" sensitivity for optical navi key, it is too slow for me. I can only move 2 icons once a time. I think it is too slow compared to "blackberry"s trackpad. I have to touch too many times for moving long distances especially browsing web. It's sensitivity should be increased or there should be more sensitivity levels. The difference between 3 sensitivity levels does not differ so much.
Maybe my optical navi key is malfunctioned? Can you comment your experiences with optical navi key?
i have a new Nokia E7-00. I experience the calendar function to be VERY slow. It takes seconds to open, then more seconds to load the calender entries, then to move from one date to the other, even closing the function is slow. What can I do to make it respond faster?
I have tried this on 3 different Nokia E6 phones, on GPRS with 5bars, 3G with 5bars and at home over wifi. All internet traffic is really slow, when on the browser downloading the SIS file for google maps, it took 5mins to download just 160k. Once I did get it installed, the Google Maps app take ages to load map tiles, and emails take about a minute to download an email with just a few lines of text.
When using OVI store, pages load really slow. So all internet apps are slow. The phone overall is quick. All this in an edge or 3G area with 5bars, and 3 phones do the exact same. All firmware ver 22.14. Same settings, area and sim card in my Nokia E71 and E72 are perfect.
1) When sending text messages the messages go through but some remain in the outbox. They are actually sent, and not waiting for resend. The only option when selecting them is to delete, which removes them from the conversation threads. It doesn't seem to be related to service, but to whether I am using the phone for any other purpose at the time.
2) When connected to a car BT system, shut off car, BT seems to go into a black hole. You can't reconnect, can't make a call (well, it makes a call, but you can't hear anything; can't play music, etc.). The only solution is reboot. This happens with multiple systems in different brands of auto, so not limited to one brnad.
I have a NOKIA E51 phone.I am transferring my SIM card to a new NOKIA E71.I have dozens of SMS messages (in several folders) on my Nokia E51.I dont want to lose them. I'd much rather keep them. How do I transfer these messages (and folders) onto my new E71 ?Unfortunately, I cant see any way to store them on the SIM card itself.Or is there a way?
What could be the problem with my messaging.i cannot receive international messages on my e63 but i can send international messages. I can receive local and send local plus international but i cant receive international messages.
I have an E63 that is about 4 months old. It stopped opening my text messages a few weeks ago, but I was able to open them again after an hour or so. It has been a few hours and I'm starting to become worried because my phone isn't opening the messages at all. Whenever I click the select button or select "open" from the message menu it acts as if I didn't press any button. I can reply back, and it'll mark it as read, but I cannot personally see the full text message.
I have bought a brand new Nokia E6-00 and I was disapponted when I saw the messages menu. I set the view of messages as "Session View" not the "Inbox View". But the font size is extremely SMALL. I can't read anything easily. So, what I do is to tap on the recieved message and display as "inbox view". Beause inbox view font size can be adjusted. Is there a way to increase the font size of sessions?
I am experiencing a peculiar problem, which I came across NEVER before with any of my other Nokia phones.Below are the details from the *#0000# Screen.Phone: Nokia E5Software Version: 071.003Software Version Date: 20 May, 2011Custom Version: 71.003.C00.01Custom Version Date: 21 May, 2011Language Set: 47.01Model: E5-00Type: RM-632Latest Update: Not UpdatedI haven't been able to open my old texts messages received in the month of August 2011. Of course we all have our own reasons to save the old texts on our phones. I wanted to read a couple of old messages so I try and open them by both methods; using the 5-way controller button and by Options>Open to no avail. While trying to open these old messages, my phone doesn't even give any error message. All that happens is, the text which am trying to open remains highlighted in the inbox. I tried backing up the text messages on my computer. To my surprise, Nokia PC Suite (recently updated version: 7.1.180.46) doesn't even recognize any of these old text messages. It only recognized the 1 month old texts. I fail to understand as to what could be reason behind this
I have a Nokia e71 and currently my screen is broken.I've since bought a new phone but would love to get all the messages I'd previously saved. My new phone can sync with the Nokia but only picked up the messages in the inbox/drafts, not the messages I had in my 'saved messages' / 'my folders' whatever its calledIf someone has access to a Nokia e71 it would be great if they would let me know (including how many clicks across, middle button etc as I will be doing this blind!) how to select all messages in my folders and copy them to the inbox.
I could not read my message. While browsed to understand the issue & I was advised to update the firmware from 400.21.13 to 500.21.009.Is there I can update my E63 device software using phone browser? I do understand why I'm not able to open the text messages. I wish not to reformat my phone dialing *#7780# (which I do on most of occasion
I have an E7-00. I'm trying to use the email app to connect to an IMAP4 server (which I run). When I delete a message on the E7, the email app appears to mark the message as deleted, and then it immediately does an expunge on the mailbox, so destroying all deleted messages in the mailbox. This is not the behaviour I want. The convention used on this mail server is that when the user asks to delete a message, the email app should move the message to a Trash folder, so preserving the message for a period of time. I can't find a way to configure the E7's mail client to do this. As this is an utterly standard business requirement
I have a Nokia E71 and I am unable to receive multimedia messages. Some of my friends can send me picture text and I received them with no problem. When the rest of them try to send me a message my phone will light up but the message will not come through
I've got bad problem on my NOKIA E72 firmware 51.018 (the same problem was before on 31.023 too). When I send MMS, the message is sent and recipient gets it, but message doesn't delete from Outbox folder. Although message was sent and received by recipient it stays in Outbox folder marked as "Deferred". Why ? It was sent and recipient gets it normally.
Every day at 10:30 GMT (without fail) I get a text message from Ovi Nokia App telling about some 'cool app' or other. This is now seriously bugging me - I didn't subscribe to it (my wife uses Ovi Store and doesn't get these messages). I keep thinking I am popular but no, it's just Ovi Nokia App telling what i already know! How do I get rid of it? I have tried to reply and send 'STOP' but it won't let you reply. I can't find anywhere on this site that tells you how to stop it either. I am reaching the point where I now purposely 'lose' my phone at 10:29 GMT and then find it again at 10:31 just to avoid the curse of ovi!
When I create email on my E7 and send it I can not find the message any more.It is not in send items and not in send Items of the linked email account.
Well basically, is this possible? If so, how? The basic reason for this is because I am trying to free up space, so anything else I can do so move stuff to the SD card would be great (like contacts or anything else).
