Eseries / Communicators :: Cannot See The Icon In The "menu Bar"?
Jun 14, 2011
I have a problem with my nokia E5.Since 2 weeks I'm not having a SMS ringtone when I receive a text message & I cannot see the icon in the "menu bar".1. Re-installed the firmware = NOT RESOLVED2. Changed themes = NOT RESOLVED3. Restored Factory settings in settings = NOT RESOLVED4. +3000 text message in my inbox5. Phone is 8months old
After software upgrade (34.001) i see two OVI STORE icons in main menu. One works perfectly the other unfortunately doesnt work at all. How to delete doubled icon from main menu?
I just bought my first smartphone, a Nokia E7-00. I also downloaded the English (and German because I live in Switzerland) user guides. I also managed to download and install the latest software for the E7. So far so good. Both the user guides (Eng. & German) for the E7 (Bella) keep mentioning some kind of icon which looks like this:
[]O OO (I will call it "that icon") This is apparently the icon for some kind of Menu. From there I should be able to e.g. Select "that icon" > Contacts
[code]....
But on my E7 I do not have any icon that looks like that anywhere, nor do I have a button called "Menu" (which the Nokia website mentions e.g. as "Select Menu > Applications"..Izam at my wits end. When I switch it on, the E7 shows the signal strength and my Provider at top left, the antenna, a battery shape and the battery strength at top right, a "Go to Music", then beneath that, a globe, a square white box, an envelope and four heads (which wants to connect me to Facebook etc). lower down is "New Mailbox" (with Ovi etc), Phone Setup which doesn't offer me any options apart from the ringtones etc and images and at the very bottom Options ooo Call. The Options only allows me to see open applications, edit home screen, change wallpaper etc.
've recently bought a nokia E72 after losing my E71 and I'm really disappointed with this mobile phone. I share most of the problems shared by most of the users. Messy software, awful sound, horrible build quality with lights comig from everywhere. But lately I found another problem with my mobile. When I create a new message, in the messaging menu, I don't have the option to create a MMS message. All the options I have are ''message (sms) / audio message / avatar sms / e-mail''. No signs of MMS creation option. I tried to uninstall the ''avatar sms'' software to check if the MMS menu would appear but still nothing. I've check the MMS settings and all the settings are ok, but still nothing in the messagin menu to create a MMS.
I had installed astroller v4 on my e7 on the 21st may as a paid application but some how after the first run which was normal, it has disappeared from my menu. I even tried to launch from nokia store link but nothing. It is also not shown in my already installed applications under settings . But I have paid for the application, I have used it once on my cell phone , but it has now disappeared.
When i open the Tutorial application in my E72 from Menu-->Help link i see the images for a particular topic but no text is displayed. I can only see the blank boxes and nothing else
I just had a reapir of my E52 and 081.003 was installed. When I got it the main menu was there and I was able to switch between personal and professional Modi. Then I restored contacts etc from a backup from when it ran 071.014.Now it is impossible to switch btw. pers. and prof. modi. Even when I click the prof. modi it stays "personal".furthermore, the icons on the first page has disappeared, and it is no longer possible to add any in the modi menu, (there is no "data window" in the Program shorcuts entry, so there is no way to add entries).
I'm unable to access contacts menu from menu>contacts or from button which i had assignet contacts menu. When i select contacts it only only the menu name "contacts" appears on top for 1 second and is returning to initial menu.
Can the Menu button on the home screen be reconfigured for another function? It seems redundant to me to have this and a Home button that have the same function...
when accessing the applications menu the touch screen will freeze for almost 5 Sec, then it will respond again, but if exit to phone home screen then i access the application menu the problem starts again freezing for 5 Sec.
yesterday I notices one new icon on my E72 main screen. On the upper left part of screen (see image) appeared black rectangle with something like "v" inside.
I use nokia e71 and recently I had installed Whatsapp application. But since it kept draining the battery, I deleted it by highlighting the application and pressing the delete button. It was successful in removing the application but then unfortunately the wifi icon on the top is always on.Does this mean my wifi is always on? Or that icon which looks like "four squares" (vaguely similar to the windows logo, loosley speaking) stands for something else?
An unknown icon suddenly appeared on the bottom of my E5 screen. It is located on the left of where the alarm clock icon is and looks sort of like the letter I. What is it and how to I remove it?
Ever since I installed Whatsapp on my E72, the WiFi icon won't turn off. I've tried uninstalling Whatsapp to no avail. I've also installed NetQin to use it to manage resident apps. I've disable all non-core apps and the icon still appears.
On previous versions of Symbian, I saw that the bookmark of a webpage uses website's favicon.ico for its icon. I cannot do the same thing on E6. This is limit of Symbian
Yesterday my messaging icon dissapeared from the menu options on my E72. how to have the icon replaced. I am currently only able to access messaging folders on receipt of a new SMS.
the problem is, i bought it today and after turning it on i noticed it. and yes, i tried the messaging>delete sim messages. the problem is, after i open the options, theres nothing about deleting sim messages, other ways to delete them?
Today randomly, when I have a new message, the little icon on the bottom of my home screen doesn't come up! The only thing that I could think of that might affect this is that I recently uninstalled communication but I'm pretty sure the icon was coming up after I uninstalled it.
recently I was texting a lot while receiving text messages at the same time. And my phone E72 bugged somehow and the tiny icon when your text messages are being sent out is still there and won't disapear. The icon is just a tiny up arrow with a small bracket under it. The icon won't go away I tried restarting my phone many times its stil there. Now when I send out a text message I don't know when it is done sending because the icon never disapears.
before 2 hours I'm updating my nokia e7 but videos icon does not open and start also why when I'm listen a song Can't up or down the sound from the screen just from the +/- sound button.
My phone is a Nokia E5-00 bought from Hong Kong, and there is no Chat on here even when it states there should be. I checked the ways to download it, like at Ovi Store, but I still found no trace. I haven't really cared about it until recently because I thought E5s didn't have them. And I still don't know if they do or not.
I have a E73 Mode TMobile. The mail icon next to the bluetooth icon will not go away. I've deleted all my voicemail, cleared my inbox on SMS to under 15 messages, and Sent is empty.

So, you get a new message, there normally is like a little rectangle, that says ' 1 new messages ' with an envelope, well, I don't get those anymore, Only the little light goes, but there's no notion that I have a new message.
