View 1 Replies View RelatedI am getting error messages that the phone memory is full, and I should move data to the SD card. However, as far as I can tell, there is practically nothing on the phone memory. I have no apps installed, everything I can is set to use the SD card, SD card is the default memory.I have a few emails, but nothing in sent items, or deleted items. There are a couple of hundered contacts, but I can't image that uses much.Viewing details using OVI it tells me 3.8MB of 256MB free.The software version is 054.005, and according to OVI that is the latest.I have seen lots of other threads with the same problem, but have not been able to find any solution in the threads. I have tried everything I have read (re-installing the software, rebooting, etc. etc.). Can I view what is in the phone memory (I cannot find a way, only to view what is on the SD card) if I could view it then memory I would know how to free memory up.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an E71x. It has a BUNCH of issues, but my main problem now is I was saving my text messages to my installed memory card. The card became full. I took the card out to get some audio files and other stuff off it to make more room. Well, at some point the phone said the memory card was missing and it would use the internal memory. Now I can't get it to use the memory card again. I see no way to put it back to that. I think the only option I got was to "Copy" messages to the memory card. But I don't want to do that.
I need to save as much stuff as I can off the phone, then reset or restore the phone to the factory settings, or just re-install everything. (this Symbian OS and Nokias poor support of it are for the birds...)But, how do I get the phone to save messages to my memory card again?

I Have gone through the C memory and the below are the only items with any significant file size. Config = 86kb, Log = 157kb, Mail for exchange 26kb, Place widget 17kb, Sound files 118kb, adimagetemp 12kb, Bur_debug 43kb, debug.log 21kb, ka3d-log.txt 89kb, MdfpluginArchive.txt 27kb, Everything else is eithr 0 or bytes only, with about three more less than 10kb each.
what I can delete safely. I am no expert, however I do not see why the above quantity should be using up so much on the C memory?
I have taken back to factory settings and transferred data to PC under Nokia Suite Make Space option.
I have a Nokia E71 and according to Nokia Suite the phone has very low memory remaining. About 3.95% I think.So far I have eliminated:

-Photos
-Videos
-Contacts
-Calendar
-Tasks
-Email
-Maps
-Apps
Can anyone else suggest what could be taking up so much space? I have gone onto the phone in Windows Explorer, and while that confirms the low memory I cannot find a file taking up so much space.
On my phone phone memory automatically goes low day by day, even wifi do not install applications on phone memory. I have checked phone memory details and approx. 112 MB other files.... What are those other files and how to delete them?

I am using a Nokia E6, Belle version. I have a simple problem. But the answer to this has not been satisfactory in any forum. My phone memory (C drive) is low, and a warning message keeps popping up. I have done all that I can to free up memory.
1) I have no image, video or any other multimedia stored in the phone memory
2) I am using only one mailbox (active sync - gmail)
3) Only WhatsApp has been installed in the phone memory by default (nobody can install WhatsApp in any other location than the phone memory)
4) Lastly, no other application is installed in my phone memory, other than system files
5)I use a data plan that is always "on"
I want to know what is taking up so much of the phone memory when I have nothing except system files in the C drive?Nokia support give the standard reply -- clean messages, move multimedia from phone memory, etc. But this is illogical since I have no multimedia in C drive. I can't see anything that needs to be moved or cleaned.Also, when I check the memory status, I get at least 300 MB used in the "Others" category of the phone memory. What is this "others" category? I want to access that damn folder and delete everything in it.When I check my phone memory in morning, I have 70 MB free. By noon it comes down to 50 MB. By 7 pm the free memory is less than 5 MB, and then the warnings come.Like I told you, I am using only WhatsApp and Active Sync, is it possible that these two are the culprits? Are they continously downloading something and storing it in my C drive?I request you not to give me the standard "clean your drive" reply since it is not working in my case. Can anybody just tell me what is this "others" folder in C drive that shows up when you long press the drive in the file manager application? How can I free up memory in my C drive? This is now seriously bugging me - I didn't subscribe to it (my wife uses Ovi Store and doesn't get these messages). I keep thinking I am popular but no, it's just Ovi Nokia App telling what i already know! How do I get rid of it? I have tried to reply and send 'STOP' but it won't let you reply. I can't find anywhere on this site that tells you how to stop it either. I would like the sent messages to be uploaded to the imap server into a specified folder, not in the sent items folder on the phone. I don't find this settings.

Options -> Memory -> Phone Memory tells me that there is over 200MB in 'Other Files', but File Manager doesn't show them and neither does the file explorer I downloaded from the Ovi Store. So I have no idea what can be taking up all the space...
I don't seem to be the only person with this problem, and since I've deleted as much as I can I don't see how it can be my fault! I am getting so frustrated with this phone
