While in Messages, in iPhone or in my MacBook Pro, every time I type "mtg" this replaces it "in a mtg. will call/chat back later" I didn't set this up, and do not want this to happen. How do I change this?

when in text message conversatin with someone, the automatic ballon from them does not show up. I get the recieve sound and the (1) in the message icon at the top. I have to click out by selecting"messages(1)" icon then click back in to view the message.

Is there a way to set a custom text message alert like you can a ringtone? (I'm already 90% sure you can't because I searched and found 2+ year old threads that say no, but I just want to know if there is any possibility of this now.)
As since the answer is likely still no, why do you think Apple still hasn't implemented this, especially since we now have iOS4? My concern is because while I love the default (tri-tone I think it's called), with so many friends and family with iPhones, it starts to get confusing for people (since nearly everyone around me uses this one as the others are meh).
I use Sprint and everytime I miss a call the Messages icon appears and does not disappear until I open the messages folder and open the missed call message. This is incredibly annoying for me, as I usually just press the send key and see what calls I have missed. Doing this does not clear the messages icon or notification.
I really dont need missed calls sent to Messages, the only reason I ever use the Messages folder is to clear the icon from my screen.Can anyone help me either disable this icon or alter what is sent to Messages?
I'm currently using a Globe subscribed blackberry bold 9730 and I'm using it roaming in the united states. I tried using the bbm through wifi (I disconnected the mobile network so no roaming charges will be made) but after sending a bunch of messages I realized they were not getting though although I can see a tick mark in front of the message indicating it was delivered, but I don't see the D or R indication on the tick. Besides the bbm not working, I also get the dreaded connection error 65 message when I try to log into my yahoo messenger account

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been trying (unsuccessfully) for the past 5 hours to resolve a custom ringtone issue with my 9700 and it is driving me crazy!I have custom ringtones set for some of my contacts for calls and messages and they were all working perfectly. Then today, I received a text message from one of my contacts and noticed the tone was the from the default profile. I checked the contact setting and the custom ringtone was the same, but whenever messages from the contacts came in, it was using the default profile. Whenever I get calls from the contact, the custom ringtone works, but all of a sudden it just stopped working for messages. Then I realized this situation is the same for ALL contacts that I had a custom ringtone for. I am completely baffled. I've probably done about 100 battery pulls.

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have a brand spanking new BlackBerry Curve 9360 that just arrived yesterday. It is great apart from this very frustrating small prob. I can not customise my message alerts for individual people in my address book. When I click on "try it" only the LED button flashes and there is no sound or vibration. I am trying to get the sound and vibrate to play as "active profile" but it just won't. I can override it and have custom volume and vibrate that plays no matter what the profile but as I sometimes like to set my main profile to vibrate or silent, it won't do.
So far, to fix it, I have tried: Wiping profile and sounds from the blackberry softwareFull factory resetCreating my own profile and using that instead of "normal" or any of the other preset onesLoads of battery pulls before and/or after any changesI have also had a few different people text me to make sure the problem isn't just the "try it" feature. It isn't. The sound that plays is always the default message sound for whatever the default profile is.
I added a custom ringtone to a contact but the ringtone only works when the contact calls me. But when he texts me the ringtone is the same as the other contacts and I don't know how to make the msgs stick with the custom ringtone of the contact.

The videos can be played immediately after recording, but later if attempted have a broken film icon instead of thumbnail and if tried to play the message "Currently Unavailable appears". This is not consistent however, a few videos in the middle of the 20 are playable. Their sizes are all varying, settings on each video are the same. I thought that they were possibly not playable on my phone so i moved them onto my computer - same issue, E.M. Total Player fails to open the videos. I hope someone can help me with this. I was counting on these 8.1 MP to record some good material for an oral presentation and final presentation for the chinese class i'm taking right now. I picked up great material, the base of the two projects. These projects are 40% of my grade and need to be presented in 2 and 3 days! How can i salvage these videos? Every video lists appropriate size, what else should i look for? How should i go about fixing this?

I am not able to send message but i am able to recieve messages and i can even send imessage but cant send normal text message. i removed the sim and used it in an other phone and i am able to send message. so its not the problem with the carrier. i also used different sim and i was not able to send message from my iphone with that also. i reset the to factory settings and i still have the problem
