BB Torch :: Will Not Respond To Any Screen Touches
Nov 24, 2012
We've had this Torch 9800 for over a year now and now it will not respond to any screen touches. I can make a phone call by pressing the green phone button and then the number pad comes up and that works, just nothing works on the app screen when touched. Even though I've had this for over a year I'm still pretty baffled on how a lot of things work but I know something is wrong.
I desperately need answers on storage of pics & videos on Xoom. Do I need a special program (app) that will let me select several pics and put them into a new album? How do I add new albums? Do I need a task manager that will release some of the open programs because my Xoom gets "bogged down" and won't respond to my taps or touches,it seems. I end up doing a hard shutdown because I can't find a way to REFRESH it - or whatever you would call it. Even that doesn't give it the boost that it originally had when I bought it.
Suddenly my touch screen AND keyboard are not responding. It has not been exposed to moisture.
Problems started yesterday. Touch screen started working eratically, then the keyboard stopped responding.
I've done the following with no success:
1) pulled battery and rebooted (multiple times)
2) ran backup from desktop, then reloaded the current OS (was already the latest version)
3) changed batteries
4) searched support communities for other ideas
Problem is I can't type my password into the phone and it's turned off phone service so I can't get calls. Touchpad works sporadically but only moves up and down, not side to side.
I've recently got a HTC 601 which I'm pretty happy with so far except for the following issue.
I have noticed on multiple occasions that when on long calls the call gets hung up. I'm not certain, but I'm fairly sure that this is because the phone is picking up a 'touch' from the side of my face and processing it as a press of the end call button. As far as I can tell the screen is off when this happens - but it is still registering the touch rather than ignoring it. On one occasion the call was put on to speaker-phone - which made me pretty sure the problem is related the the phone registering touches when it shouldn't be (opposed to the call dropping out due to network or similar issues).
This has happened since I first had the phone (I got it about 2 weeks ago) and I have not rooted the phone or anything like that. Are they any settings I can change that would relate to this? My wife got the same phone at the same time but hasn't had any issues.
My 1520 have a real issue when I turn on the screen from stand by, the screen start to react like if i randomly touching it hundred times. Then if I slide to enter password, the first number i touch once will be entered many times in milliseconds and the device will give me that i entered wrong password. If I lock and unlock the screen it will return to be responsive correctly to my touches. This happens to me many times daily and lately it became more frequent.
Had phone just over a month. In the last few days, it's been randomly activating/interacting with apps on my screen. Normally, it's a single 'touch'. On some occasions it's a flurry of touch events that I had to power the phone off. a couple of spots seem to have a higher tendecy.
System version 55.13.25.MB865.ATT.en.US Have not rooted it.
All of a sudden today my phone is lagging. And reads normal screen touches as a long touch. Even watching videos it catches and freezes for few seconds.
I've tried the cache wipe from the reboot menu and hasn't made a difference.
I am quite unhappy with my blackberry 9810 and with Research In Motion at the moment. I noticed my phone would suddenly go off and restart. Only a few weeks later, it wouldn't restart by itself after suddenly going off. I had to restart it whenever i noticed it was off. But it got worse, it later would not respond at all after it had gone off and it would sometimes take a whole day to start. It was then I went to the ResearchInMotion site.
Nothing specific. Only links in the help forum to crackberry.com. I read the many stories I saw like "put your battery in your palms and rub it till it gets warm" and "use a short cable to connect your device to the laptop"... I have swithced batteries to be sure it was not a battery fault. I have re-installed the OS, upgraded to 7.0 and used the Loader.exe countless times. Those worked only like 3 times after days and days of labour, many missed calls, records and events in my planner. Often, it would work for one day and then go off for two. It has not worked for 2 days now and non of these troubleshooting work again; no red light indicator when i connect it directly to the laptop using a USB cable, nothing.
I am using the 9800 torch which is rom and software updated. Suddenly my touchscreen doesn't work and I have to use the joystick. The screen works for few min every day and that's all and when the slider is open it wont work no matter what...
I am having trouble typing the letter n. When I type an email or text the letter n does not always respond. It is a fault that will not resolve itself. What do I do? The phone is not a year old yet.
My Xperia Z2's screen work perfectly fine until I need to make a call. The second i hit the person's name on the call log, the screen becomes black, eccentially shutting off and not allowing me to turn it back on until the call has ended. The only way for me to end call is to press the power button. And if I do not have the setting on to do so, the power button still does not allow me to turn on the screen.  Now, I thought it was something wrong with the proximity censor (as in a Hardware fault, explained in the back story) until yesterday when i woke up and suddenly I could make a call with the screen on, but now the person on the other side was not recieving my Audio (but my phone mic was still working). After turning my phone off and back on, it reverted back to being able to make a call, but not being able to use the screen.
Recently, I've got a brand new Xperia Z5 Green International unlocked from Amazon. It's super awesome, but there's problem with its touch screen. It doesn't respond to tap some times.
I assume it's software problem due to over heated, because every time I have this problem after restarting phone, it's solved.
I purchased a Samsung galaxy S6 on June 5th. On Sunday morning it was working fine. Sunday afternoon, I tried to use it and the screen will not recognize my touch. Everything works on the phone. The screen illuminates, it rings, I can talk on the phone through my car but I cannot do anything that involves using the screen. The back button will work but that is it. Unfortunately, I have a pin code security on the phone. I took it to Sprint and they had never seen this happen before on the this phone.
1. I have tried the reset, doesn't work.
2. How to get my data, like pics, off my phone considering I cannot unlock the phone because the screen doesn't respond?
i recently purchased a used HTC Touch Pro from ebay. So here the problem when the screen is off it wont respond when i press the front buttons. Only if i press the top button or open the phone will it come on.Is it designed this way or is my unit faulty.
I have had my Xperia Ray since Christmas which worked fine but after a while i started to notice the screen kept failing to respond to touch. It gradually got worse but could be resolved by taking out the battery and placing back in but now it is being unresponsive for 3 days and the battery technique fails to work. I have also tried the repair software but this has failed to resolve the issue, this is extremely frustrating
I cant sync, respond to texts, receive emails, just about anything but make phone calls. Is this due to the blackberry problem I've been hearing about?
My iPhone 4 (GSM version) has been freezing up lately. The keys do not respond and the screen is blank. The only way out so far has been to put the phone in DFU mode and restore in iTunes. This phone was previously locked to the AT&T network and was recently unlocked.
My husband's iPhone 4S screen is damaged and we are trying to backup/sync before it goes for repair. iTunes prompting us to "Respond with iPhone to allow access", but we can't do this because the screen is damaged and there is no prompt to Trust this Computer on the phone screen. Is there any way to back up the phone without actually using the disabled screen?
Last couple a days I'm having problems with angry birds on my E6! The touch screen doesn't respond! Has anybody have the same problem!? Have some suggestions what to do?
When I charge my N8, the touch screen function stops working. If I have a video playing, it continues to play, I can change the volume and the home/menu key works, but touching the screen has no effect until I unplug the charging cable.
I purchased the Experia Play for my son a few months ago, and a couple weeks ago the screen appeared pixilated with multiple colors. The screen does not change and we can't see anything or make calls from the screen. I tried a soft reset and removed the battery several times and nothing seems to work. My son said he did not damage the device- and I don't visibly see any damage, so I'm not sure if this is a known issue or if there is anything else I can possibly do to get it back to original working order?
