Oct 26, 2011I've updated the os to 6.0 bundle 2534 ( v 6.0.0.570, platform 6.6.0.212).Now i don't see maps icon in my apps menu?

Sep 2, 2011i have just bought a new device BOLD9830, and my problem is that i have no maps icon at my home screen, although at the option category and on the device icon i found location settings " set up GPS and location services" .

Sep 1, 2010Just thought I'd pass this along since when I tried to find it the other day on RIM's website I couldn't. If you want to download the ribbon icon for the built in Blackberry Maps you can go to http://www.blackberry.com/send/maps from your phone's browser to install it.I know when the phone was first released on AT&T people had speculated that it wasn't at mobile.blackberry.com because AT&T didn't want it there but it seems that they just hadn't updated the maps website for the Torch yet. BTW, it's still not at mobile.blackberry.com.

Jul 13, 2011I recently purchased a BlackBerry Bold 9780. When I go to the Application Administration I do see that BlackBerry Maps is installed. It also gives the version. But I am not able to see it anywhere in the Menu or even in the search.
Is this something to do with the service provider? I admit I do not yet have a data plan, but I believe it should not need a data plan as it has GPS in-built.

Jan 22, 2010I just downloaded the latest version of Ovi Maps for my 5800. I've seen loads of articles which show a menu screen like the one below, but I don't get this. Why not?Also, if I try to bring up traffic information, it tells me that I need to pay for a licence. I thought this was all supposed to be free now. I only downloaded the program last night, so I assume it's the latest version.

Nov 1, 2010I bought a lifetime license to be able to download maps to my phone. Before I hade version 3.0 and there you could download maps for free. But after I upgraded to version 4.0 I bought the license. There is only a small problem now, there is no menu now to select "My Maps" and download. Tried to contact support but they don't seem to understand the problem. They keep telling my to navigate to the download menu.

Jul 2, 2012My menu button loads my 'phone' and not the menu for the phone. I cannot access the menu that includes: hide, move, open tray etc. I cleaned up the phone and uploaded the newest software via the BB desktop application software. I ended up cleaning it up so well it seemed to go back to factory settings as I lost all my apps. It seemed to solve the problem though and I got my menu button to work properly again. I have since uploaded App World and a new theme. The button still worked properly for 24 hours. Today, I turn it on and all is working well but the menu button loads my phone again. Do you understand that the menu does not load, but rather the 'phone' menu pops up as though I'd pressed the phone icon. I wonder if the 'flex ribbon cable' underneath the buttons is misaligned somehow and when I press the menu key, it is loading the green telephone key menu because of malfunction of the ribbon.

Feb 12, 2015Odd; I noticed after upgrading to Denim official, the MS Camera is no longer on the app menu; I had it as a tile on my SS, so after restoring a backup, I still had it. But if you didn't, it seems the only way one could get to it would be to set it as the default camera app, then push the camera hardware button. Reminds me of how Nokia would yank the native maps from the menu, and people created tiles in the store that acted as shortcuts. With this update, native maps is in the menu, but now native camera is not.
