I just bought my BF an unlocked BB torch 9800 for his birthday. It was an AT&T phone and we are now trying to use the phone with his Rogers plan. It seems when we go to downloads, the option to download bbm and email is grayed out.Is there a way to update the phone in order to access bbm and email?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook. My computer runs Windows XP. The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it. None of these measures have changed the problem.Any suggestions?

The question is I live outside US and I need to get it unlocked.Now, I saw that at at&t store, they are selling the torch for 499 dollars without contract. I am sure this is locked.If I can get this phone (I know I need to get someone with at&t to go with me to buy it), I can unlock it. This is for sure, right?
I see that some sites are selling it for 599 and 699 dollars but I dont want to pay the extra amount if I can get it unlocked.
For some reason my Torch will unlock by itself when placed in my case. The case was for a 9700 Bold and I tried at the ATT store with a pouch 'designed' for the Torch with the same results. The lock/unlock key is so sensitive that even in my pants pocket it will unlock.
All of my old BB's would not unlock until I hit the 2 combo keys which was fine. At least the bold would stay locked in the pouch which was fine.
Yesterday morning I switched to M8 and set up 3 aol and 2 gmail accounts on the resident email app. One aol account is not loading. It is loading into the maildroid app (I keep as backup reader) but its not loading on the M8 and also not on my old HTC evo. I have deleted the account and restarted the phone. Not sure why suddenly its not loading on the old phone. The problem account is the first one, was set to default.

I mean if i close the email app also the sync should be disabled right? but on my phone it still syncing even if email app is closed. This is annoing coz night i want to disable the email sync, i don't want to be waked by new emails sound.
Nokia messaging worked great untill 2 days ago when it stopped syncing my gmail account, I tried reinstalling nokia messaging and deleted my acount and added my account again. It syncs all my emails up to the 14th of April and does not go further. Can someone help me solve this issue?

Problem is, if I've read the new emails on my computer first, they still show up as unread emails on my Bold.Is there a setting I can use that will make it so that if I've read emails on another device, the emails will no longer show up in the notification bar? As it is right now, all new messages show up in the notification bar, despite having read the emails already on my computer.Also, there is 1 Facebook notification that won't go away. There's nothing in the notification center, and I've opened and refreshed Facebook, but that 1 notification is still there.

1)my calendar is not syncing (birthday's calendar is syncing but not the main calendar even I set him to be synced via google sync..)

I apologize if this is a repeat issue, but I was unable to find the solution posted on the forums.I have a BlackBerry Torch running software version 6.0 bundle 695. The device only has 1 account, so it's a simple setup.Syncing is set to use Exchange mail (via web access). There is NO b.e.s. involvedonly Exchange and the BB device.It's calendar is not syncing in either direction. This was previously working for many months.All known settings appear to be correct including default email address in the Advanced system options. Also, email appears to be working fine, so the login and user information is correct (I reset it anyway to be sure). Only the calendar functionality is broken.I am currently updating the BlackBerry OS to from bundle 695 to bundle 2342 to see if this helps in any way. What else can I try to restore the calendar functionality (without wiping the device)

If I enter an appointment on my Outlook calendar, it appears on my Torch. However, if I enter an appointment on my phone, it doesn't appear in Outlook.

I sync pretty often, say every other day. I sync my 9800 desktop v6.0 with Outlook 2007. ( I run Win 7 64bit)If I make a change on my BB and then sync, the screen that pops up titled, "Changes Will Be Made to Organizer" list one change. I click on the SYNC button and the sync completes.Now if I make one change on my Outlook and then sync the same tables shows me the cumulative number of changes I made since I first installed the software, plus one, the one I just made. The number just keeps increasing.Sure enough the changes I'm making in Outlook are being successfully sync'ed on my BB, be it contact or calendar but something either isn't being cleared or it is actually re-syncing all the changes every time.

This is the third BB I have used, but it's the first time I have been without IT support from my employer (I work as a contractor).I have three email addresses coming in to my BB, but the one that's my personal email from Shaw.I have MS/Office Outlook and the most recent version of the BB Desktop software on my laptop. I can synch my calendar and my contacts, but I don't even get an option to synch my email or file email in folders on my BB. In fact, the option doesn't even show on the BB desktop software.....Is my problem with Shaw, or is the problem with the BB desktop software?

I recently moved from iphone to Android and the G4 is my first android phone. My work email is IMAP and although everything is working, my sent folder on the phone seems local to the device. Google shows a couple of different options with the most reasonable one being "setting the IMAP path prefix" but the email app on the G4 has no such setting.
This is a pretty big deal for me as I have tons of email and need the Inbox and Sent folders to be synced with the server. (by the way, I have disabled automatic sync, but for a different reason, i.e. to not allow my gmail account to sync contacts on the phone. But the auto-sync is not something that affects the Sent folder)...
When I add my corporate account to the email app, it accepts my login information as well as the domain and server information. It takes me to the screen with the email options about push notifications and what not. I finish those settings and it takes me to my inbox. But nothing happens. Occasionally if I add it, it will say loading... with the spinning circle, but never loads. I have let it sit for hours, and it never syncs.
Now let me tell you what I have tried:
I have tried on 4G and on wireless
Adding from Accounts in Settings
Adding from the email app
Auto Sync data is on
Restrict Background Data is off
Once or twice it came up with the certificate issue and I noticed that the certificate was connected to a different website.
I have a gmail account, and msn account and a Verizon account. they are all connected and work fine all the time.
If I use an app called Cloud Magic it works, but that doesn't sync my calendar and contacts.
I think that is it. The phone is a Galaxy S5, 16GB / Verizon / Andriod 4.4.4 / Factory, not hacked or changed in anyway.
Using the stock email app, when i read a email on my outlook(pc) the email does not show up read on my s5, it still shows as a new email. I didnt have this issue with my gs3. same email account (imap) on outlook and set up the same way on s5.

I can still receive emails but all mail stored in folders will not download to my phone and I cannot move emails around in folders. For example I cannot delete mail or move mail from inbox to other folders. I keep getting an error message saying "Cannot get mail the connection to the server failed".
