I just installed "the latest" update - but just as the update program tells me to I made a backup to the SD card. But now the backup file cant be read back to restoration of the system.
Is there a way to go around this and open the backup file and extract some of the info?

i recently bought iphone 4S and i had before iphone 3GS .
Now i wanted to transfer my data to my new phone and i had a back-up code which i never used cause when i used to connect my old iphone to my pc it was sync automatically and i didn't even remembered that i had input a code for my back-up so i cannot possibly remember it.
There is NO preference for changing the code via e-mail as every application devices services etc provide. I went to the i-storm which is the 'authorized' retailer for Greece and since i haven't bought the device from their store. (i bought it via my mobile company but it's APPLE for god shake.)
i have contacts photos messages from 1 and half year time which i cannot let go. Also, imagine to write one by one contact (680 contacts) If i knew that i wouldn't buy Iphone in first place.

View 7 Replies View RelatedToday, I decided to upgrade my iphone's ISO to 7.1.1, and I decided to upgrade it using itunes, which I hardly use. When I plugged the iphone in, the first thing itunes asked was "back up". I thought itunes was asking to back up my pictures, so I clicked yes. It turned out that itunes asked to restore my phone with a back up I made a year ago. all my pictures were replaced with pictures from back up... Unfortunately, I did not turn on cloud service to back up pictures. Is there any way to restore pictures I lost?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I was running screwd ROM with elementalX kernel. Everything was working great but I'm a long time DU user. Went to their G+ page flashed ROM. I had issues with it so I wiped and restored my backup of screwd ROM through TWRP. The first go around I selected to restore all partitions. It got stuck on the boot logo. Booted back into recovery and restored android again. This time I unchecked the vendor image box and restored the rest of the partitions. Worked like a charm.

I am trying to copy all my data from my torch to my bold siince the torch has to go for repairs, have tried deivce switch, normal backup and restore, backup through blackberry protect, everything else works fine except the copy of contacts, which obviously is the most improtant thing. when i try to restore the contacts through the DM, through the customize option where i can select what i want to restore (contacts, emails, etc) everything else is open to choose except the contacts, where i cant select the contacts as its marked in grey and a little piece of information below says this is only a read only data hence cant be copied.

my Nokia Web Browser after the site is completely loaded the broswer goes into full screen view mode and doesn't get back to its normal mode making it impossible for me to exit it manually which makes me yurn off my phone and then exit. View 11 Replies View RelatedJust recently my iphone 4s speakers started acting up. I have restored it twice once to a back up and the other time as a new phone. The speakers get really staticy on full volume and then it cuts out but if I turn down the volume and blow air into the speakers it goes back to play fine until I turn up the volume again. I'm going to try to clean it out with a toothbrush and see if that helps. But I'm curious does this seem more like a hardware problem or is it a problem with the operating system and I should try to hold out until ios 6 comes out and see if that helps. I've read all the problems with this so I'm hesitant to send it in since there is no apple store around here and find out I have to pay to get it fixed. Tried to talk to them on the phone but since it's a week past ninety days I would have to purchase apple care in order to get any help but yet that's only available for 30 days after your purchase so I'm not sure how come they can offer that over the phone.

I get the message SIM card full delete SMS messages every time I use texting. I have followed the directions on the website. I have a 9810 with version 7 software. When I go to messages >options and then the SMS section there is no option to check or uncheck for saving SMS to SIM card. Please do NOT give me those same instructions again. How can I stop this otherwise? I don't have very manytext messages saved at all.

"sim card is full.please delete some SMS text message" I go into the SMS inbox folder and delete messages, then the message disappears untill a few days later. I shouldn't have to keep doing this. I didn't have to do it on my Blackberry Curve. I know all of the forums say go into Options and uncheck Leave SMS text on sim card, but I do not have that option when I goto Options. Is there anyone else that doesn't have this option on their BB Torch? Is there a fix for this? Other than having to manually delete the messages every few days

The text: The mailbox (my corporate e-mail account) is almost full. You should remove some emails from the box as soon as possible to prevent losing any future mail, or ask the admin to upgrade your account to have a larger quota. This mailbox is currently 91.94% (45.97/50.00 Megs) full. Also should I periodically clean /restore my mailbox in the blackberry or it is being automatically deleted after some date?
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a blackberry bold 9700 v 5.0.0.862 ( bundle 1446, platform 5.1.0.175 I fully charged my battery monday night, unplugged it before going to sleep.When i woke up the phone was turned off, when i turned on i got a white screen with a battery with a red line through it but no blackberry loading screen.I didn't know what was wrong so i plugged phone in to charge a bit. when there was no change i unplugged it and held the power button. After many many many attempts to turn it back on finally i got the BB loading screen.The battery had full power when I finally got it turned back on.I used the phone throughout the day but come suppertime the battery was still full so i went to a friends. Halfway through dinner the phone displayed " BATTERY DRAINED TURNING OFF HANDHELD " .
Got home plugged in, turned back on and battery was 50%. I charged it to 100% and unplugged it before going to sleep. Woke up this morning to ringing phone i answered it had the chance to say hello then it displayed " BATTERY DRAINED TURNING OFF HANDHELD " !!! Went to turn back on got the battery screen again , finally after an hour or more of trying to turn back on it finally loaded and guess what?? THE BATTERY IS SITTING AT 100%!!I don't know what's going on but my phone keeps saying the battery is drained and the phone turns off but the battery is still full.
