The problem is now when i try to restore to original firmware the phone resets and gets to that itunes connect screen (which is probably caused by blackra1n tethered jailbreak). The only way i can get out of that screen is to rejailbreak by blackrain because itunes will only allow me the option of restoring and updating to 3.1.3 which will screw me over for a unlock .How can i restore my firmware to a clean 3.1.2 without dealing with the connect to itunes freeze and not upgrading to 3.1.3?

Questions:
-will restoring this backup to the new unlocked phone restore it to its original locked state (i.e. will i have to re-jailbreak/unlock)? or will it simply restore preferences, etc...?

Apr 10, 2012I have a small problem with my Iphone 4 5.1 - modem firmware 4.12.01 and I had it just replaced two weeks ago and it was locked and not activated.
After working on it to activate it (don't have the original sim the mobile was locked to) I decide to restore it to factory setting, as it was when replaced. I tried with Itunes but it gives me error 3194 putting it in a loop and later I tried to do it via the device itself (settings > general > reset > cancell data and settings) but it got stuck on the loading circle for 5-6 hours so I pressed together power and home to shut it down.
So what should I do now to restore it to factory settings? I don't know what to do and I don't want to endanger my warranty (if it is still on at this point!!!).I have windows 7 and tried with a different usb ports or with no firewall but to no avail.
