Recently I've updated my Torch 9860, after which I've found a changed app in my app switcher. When opening the switcher, there is an app called: AlternateApp. The icon has a question mark in in and opening this app freezes the app switcher. I can't find out what this app is referring to, maybe a recently updated app through the app world or there might be some other issue.

I tried to reinstall the OS (9630/5.0.0.1030).
While entering new number in contact list the menu key now operates the application switcher. an't access any apps other than on home screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor Storm2 9550 users...I'm a texter kind of person and the Storm 2 9550 was certainly a mistake purchase as I was mislead by my carrier into thinking it would be a good phone for me because it has WiFi capabilities and the ability to text many people at once. I don't think my carrier realized that I'm not 80 years old, I can text more than 2 characters per second. I need a quick and snappy firmware for texting where my phone won't slow down so much as to only be able to text 1 character every second. Not only that, but a web browser that doesn't take 20 seconds to load [URL] (although I don't use it much anyway as I have a laptop). Seriously, can we get a custom firmware meant for high speed texting?

View 24 Replies View RelatedMy friend had his Galaxy S5 set to unlock with a fingerprint, however yesterday the strangest thing happened. It no longer asks for a fingerprint, it goes directly to the alternate password. I would like to clarify again that its not that it does not accept his prints like happens to a lot of people, it simply does not give the choice to use them. Now I don't know if he forgot his password or the phone wont accept it (like he claims) but he can't use the alternate password to log into the phone. He is completely locked out. As a last case resort I will back up whatever I can using my computer and reset it to factory defaults.
As a final note I've tried the google device manager to reset the password, his S5 does not appear on his account. I expect that is because it is not a gmail account but a school account using google apps.

Pretty much as soon I as I received my S2 on the 29th, I installed the .428 leak. I also apologize if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find anything while searching. Anyways my issue is this....when I'm typing out a text and I hit the number key or "alt" key, there is a significant delay before those alternate characters pop up.
If I do a battery pull, the problem goes away and it works fine for a while. But then it'll start delaying, then a little longer...and it just gets progressively worse the longer I go without another battery pull. At this point I've gone 24 hours without a pull...and the delay has increased to about 3 seconds before the characters finally show up on the screen.
Anyone else experiencing this? Does this also happen with the stock OS (.320)? I'd hate to have to do 2 battery pulls a day, and I couldn't get QuickPull to work very well. Thanks in advance.
Is it possible to display an alternate contact phone number on the lock screen? If I lost my phone, a person who found it may be nice enough to call me at the alternate phone number so they could return the phone to me.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI love my S5. Have been using the fingerprint scanner to unlock without a problem since day 1.Today, it wouldn't recognize my prints at all. I went in to try to re-register them, and it won't allow me to. It asks for my alternate password, and doesn't recognize it. I know I'm typing in the correct password.
If I click on change alternate password, it accepts it, and asks me to type in a new password (twice). Upon the second time, an error message pops up saying there is an issue with the scanner and to restart the device, which I've now done three times.For now, I was able to change to pattern unlock.
I'm on the latest official ICS 4.0.4. I was using the stock weather widget when using the stock Xperia Home Launcher. I just changed to Nova Launcher, which I find better than the stock launcher. However, now I find that I cannot access the Weather Widget from the Widget Menu. Most/all other widgets seem to be listed there, but the weather widget is missing!
Is there any way I can get this widget on Nova? I really liked that widget, and it seemed fairly accurate too. But I don't want to get back to the stock launcher just for it.

My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website.
