is there a know issue with the 9800. I just took delivery of a Discover 4 and the 9800 does not see any bluetooth communication form the vehicle. It is fine with an IPhone.

Next time I'll research the forums b4 buying!My Backflip would spontaneously re-boot and then get caught in a constant cycle by rebooting less than 1 minute after my home screen (finally) appears. It never seemed to be triggered by any specific action, such as pressing the infamous "J" key, or using the camera, as others have stated.Through my research I determined the first thing to do was a reset to factory settings. That took time, but didn't solve anything. Then I went down the loose battery/business card shim route. I have 3 BN80 batteries. None of them solved the problem, nor did any of the various business card shim configurations I tried. All of my BN80 batteries are rated 1380 mAh/5.1 Wh. One poster claims that there are 2 different versions of that battery and the correct one is rated 1320 mAh/4.2 Wh. So I tried my BN70 from my Moto Karma (1140 mAh/4.2 Wh).
I also have 2 SD cards and it re-booted with either of them, and with neither of them.So I mumbled something unrepeatable, and gave-up. :-( I pulled my sim card and stuck it back into my Q1 Karma.Then I thought...could it be? So I re-tried the Backflip and viola! No problems. It's solid as a rock. I can browse the web via wi-fi and use all of the features. I can open it, shut it, use the camera, push any key (hard), including those on the battery side of the keyboard (even with the thinner profile BN70 battery) and I can't get the thing to re-boot! That is until I insert a SIM card. The very same SIM card which works just fine in my other Moto phone.
Is there a way to permanently enable bluetooth discovery on the Defy and to not have it time limited to a 120 second countdown etc?

View 2 Replies View Relatedproblems with Bluetooth Connection to a 2011 Range Rover with a Curve 8900?I have been unable to get my Blackberry 8900 to pair with my Range Rover In Car Bluetooth. The phone finds the car and pairs and the car registers the phone, then the car keeps dropping the connection and then reconnecting every few seconds. They dont actually stay paired long enough to do anything. I have a Blackberry Curve 8900, which is running the latest Software, V5.0.0.681 (Platform 5.2.0.67). I have checked on the Landrover Website and it would appear the Car and Phone are compatible, in fact it is one of the recomended phones, however Landrover list the Software v4.6.1.310 (Platform 4.2.0.0.127) or Latest Tested Version. So it looks as if they should work. My Blackberry works with other In Car Bluetooth and Bluetooth Devices. The Range Rover connects to a Nokia so it seems to be working. The indication is it is a Phone/Car incompatability.

I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've seen this before but just got back from a trip to the UK and I noticed battery life was really bad compared to back in the US. Not sure if this is GSM vs CDMA or just I was in a weaker signal area so that the phone was "trying" harder. It's harder to tell because of another issue, the signal indicator!
This time, I made several perfectly fine calls with the indicator showing no bars, only when the phone showed "No Service" did things not work. I probably should have downloaded an app to show the signal strenght, but didn't....
i had a blackberry torch 9800 which i backed up to the blackberry desktop then it was sent away for a repair and they replaced it with anew 9800 i have tried to recover everything from the desktop but it says i need the old blackberry first?

My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. Sometimes you can see them in the preview area but when you click on them you get a weird icon that looks like a wheel. Sometimes even in the preview area you cannot see the pic at all.Still on the official OS that came with the phone. Does anyone know what the problem is? As you already know, the ring volume on the Torch 9800 is extremely low. So I tried to email custom mp3 ringtones to my phone to use instead. In attempting to do so, I received a message saying "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found." I also received this message when trying to email a photo to my blackberry. This never use to happen in past blackberries I have owned.
How do I fix this "service book information not found" issue ?
I have bought a Torch, but cannot get it to set up in the Organizer configuration to sync with my Calendar in MS Office XP- Outlook. My computer runs Windows XP. The contacts and memo will configure (although) they are posting to an archive folder and when I try to change that I get Error 0x80043bea), but the Calendar and Tasks will go through the set-up process, but when you finish it, the checkmark on those 2 Outlook folder disappears before you can even select the advance settings.I have re-set the configuration on the Desktop software a couple of times, to no avail, and uninstalled the Desktop 6.0 software and reinstalled it. None of these measures have changed the problem.Any suggestions?
